Iiah's Equalist Captivity
kason-the-equalist:
Another smile quirked at Kasons lips, ohh if only she knew, the equalist wanted nothing more then to gloat, but now was not the time, Kason needed Iiah a little closer to the edge of insanity before she let slip just how many United forces officers she had already.
The equalist glanced down at the fallen jacket, her curiosity piqued, that was not the usual sound buttons made on tile, sharp eyes took in Iiahs reaction, and Kason couldn’t help the sick smile from spreading.
“Well” she said slowly, walking around the bound bender to grab the tattered remains of the uniform “My father died a very long time ago” she bent, carefully picking up the coat, and carrying it to one of the tables, she’d had every intention of saving the jacket, buttons would be used as medals and badges of honor for her fellow equalists, just one of the many ways they mocked those that stood against them, the bright red would be used as part of the ribbons, or sewn into the outer lining of the green uniform when a brother or sister achieved a certain rank Just like it was on her own Jacket.
“And in a way I’m bringing him more honor with my current work then I ever could by following the same path as you. I’m making a bigger impact in peoples lives.” lifting the coat she shook it a few times, listening for that rattle again, her head tilted, smirking once she’d located it.
“And just what is this?” she asked with glee, palming the tin and turning on her heel towards Iiah, she stepped closer, fingers petting the box before lifting the lid, “Ooohoho? Did I find your drug stash?”
Kason laughed and pulled out the baggies, examining them, none of them were marked with anything she could recognize right off the top of her head, though a few of them she vaguely recognized, and she couldn’t help but wonder just what they were, she doubted her new pet would tell her anything, but that’s what the lab a few floors up was for.
“So what exactly have I found? If you don’t tell me I know some very talented people that will, so there’s no use in keeping it from me….who knows, if they’re really important, and you’re a good girl, I might let you keep them…well, so long as it’s nothing you can over dose on…I don’t want you dead just yet after all.”
Iiah let out a short exhale of breath that she had been holding in since the initial sharp rattle of her medicine tin cut through the silence and drew attention to itself. She was a fool to think it wouldn’t have been noticed at all during her unexpected captivity, but at the same time she had hoped to keep ahold of it longer than the reality of the situation. On one hand, if she told Kason exactly what was inside without a fight, maybe she would have a higher chance of accessing what she considered to be necessary medications later on. If she withheld, Kason had every right to gleefully stash the pills and whisk them away to a lab. Every pill was precious, especially in a stressful situation like this, and she did not need the Equalists crushing them to better run tests on the unknown drugs.
“I-I’ll tell you,” the captain conceded, an uncharacteristic-nervousness gripping her voice, “Two of them are necessary. I wouldn’t carry them on me if they weren’t.” Glancing at the tin, Iiah licked her lips and contemplated her options for a second time. Would she tell Kason the truth, that the drugs were for mental health, or could she spin an elaborate lie about them being for her… heart maybe? Something absolutely vital?
No –she couldn’t. Faking a more serious condition would not help her in the slightest in getting her medications when she needed them. If the Kason suspected at all that she was lying, her only chance at MAYBE getting to still take them would slip away.
“The two smaller baggies contain an anti-anxiety, and the other’s an anti-insomnia. Daily medications. I need them to function…”
Gold eyes still lingered on the tin; there was one baggie left unaccounted for and it was the most worrisome. In training, she had been taught not to tell the enemy anything, especially nothing that could be used against the United Forces. The last thing they needed were Equalists high on speed… but maybe one of the higher ups should have thought about that before handing out amphetamines to the entire United Forces as if they were candy. Surely she wasn’t the first to have this ‘miracle’ performance enhancer pried out of her clutches. All soldiers and sailors had them, more were addicted to it than anyone wanted to admit.
Carefully choosing her words, Iiah pieced together an explanation for the third and final drug. It wasn’t like amphetamines were exclusive to the military…
“Speed. The final bag has speed. It’s the bigger, fuller of the three.”
She owed Kason no explanation; the equalist woman had inquired about WHAT the drugs were, not why or where they came from, furthermore. And if she was as smart as Iiah presumed, she could probably piece everything the incident inside the back of the truck, and later to her sudden fainting, to the newly discovered drugs without Iiah having to even say a word. As a performance enhancer it had given her the edge to slip out of being chi-blocked just in time to get herself into a bigger mess…
