also insane to think that 10.1 million people attended with TICKETS but there were thousands of people outside each stadium every night, and countless more watching streams online all over the WORLD. like, the true number of people who attended the eras tour over the past two years is far beyond what we’re imagining rn. and i’m just so proud of her and amazed at this success and grateful to have been a part of it :,)

the fact that Long Live/New Years Day was the piano song on the reputation tour and then to close out eras she played that again but she added The Manuscript….i am Thinking Thoughts but I do not know what they are yet

she started the eras tour still believing that reputation was the story of her life: she found love in the midst of the noise, and she put her faith in that being her happy ending, even though she hadn’t read the last page. but the last page didn't and wouldn’t come and she was stuck rehashing the magic of the beginning over and over again, and then just as the tour was getting going, that story she was clinging to collapsed. we’ve watched her deconstruct that story and trace its origins for two years, in surprise songs and in mashups and in ttpd, and finally, here at the end…there is nothing left but the manuscript, the tour that she created for us, which became a testament to a very different love than the one she thought it would. she can look at the plan for eras and really say “the story isn’t mine anymore”: it passed into our hands and we made something beautiful of it. and she’s living a new story now.

Said this in some tags but. Taylor gave out ~$200 million in bonuses - aka 10% of the GROSS PROFIT of the whole tour - but it didn’t come from the tour, those bonuses were money out of her bottom line; a number nowhere near the gross profit considering how much a tour like this would’ve cost to put on. And that’s before her charity donations which could nearly double that, or how out-of-industry-standard highly she already pays everyone.

With all of these components considered she genuinely probably gave away like, half her bottom line. That’s a real estimate and it honestly might be more. Everyone bitches about billionaires and how they should distribute their wealth and…. That’s literally what she did here. More than any other artist, like, ever. At this point I feel like the billionaire discourse is as trite and ridiculous as the “exes” discourse. Sorry but I never wanna hear about that nonsense ever again from within this fandom.

Also I appreciate people saying that she’s an ethical billionaire in regard to this, but my real point is it doesn’t matter because SHES NOT EVEN A BILLIONAIRE. she could be but half of it is based on something that is not even a real asset because it is priceless to her and never for sale (her catalogue), which we already knew, and the now proven other half of it is she literally gives it away freely, so the whole point is moot anyway.

i feel that “it was the end of an era, but the start of an age” truly encapsulates taylor’s demeanor right now. ofc eras ending is bittersweet, but also taylor ate and breathed this tour since it’s conception. she has been planning and been consumed by it for 3 years, and now she gets to beautifully close this chapter of her life in which she lost a little, but gained ten times over. so proud of what she achieved and all her hard work, and now she gets to move onto the next chapter of her life in all ways, and i for one can’t wait for it!
