Just walked into the coop and a garter snake was lounging in there…with 6 silkie hens loafing right next to it?? I picked it up and moved it out because I didn’t want it to get stuck in there overnight so the silkies just all filed out of the coop and followed it around like “oh! our friend is going on an adventure!” while it slithered away

And this is why domesticated chickens don’t last long in the wild.
