Finally finished with my Buggy art.

I'm not 100% happy with certain parts, but i still really like how he turned out

Sketchbook isn’t free from Acesan, cause I always have to draw the hyperfix ship of the month at least once. Drew these from memory with like minimal ref so they are pretty rough but…Acesan 😙

They are so cute in my head. I need to finish the next chapter of the fic I’m also writing but I’m stumped 🙂‍↕️

I've always thought that Shanks is part of Buggy's "wheel-of-fortune-spinning-like-crazy" luck. Like it all started the day Buggy was born:

Bad news! You're now an orphan.

Good news! You're taken in by Captain Roger, one of the strongest pirates of the seas.

Bad news! Another baby is in Oro Jackson whom you'll grow up under his shadow.

Good news! You outwitted the entire crew into thinking the Devil Fruit is gone and now you can sell it and make it on your own as you escape in the dead of the night.

Bad news! Shanks accidentally made you swallow the actual Devil Fruit because he can't leave you alone for one sec (and he lost your map!). Say goodbye to the only thing you're better at than him.

Good news! You're now growing up with possibly the next king of the pirates! Even if you can't do it, he can. Even Captain Roger acknowledged that he's better than you.

Bad news. He doesn't want to be king of the pirates.

Good news! He's an emperor who still holds you in his heart despite all the talk of going in separate ways as kids. (You don't know that though)

Bad news! All the inferiority complex you've had by growing up with him had caused you to have a huge blind spot when it comes to how Shanks feel about you.

Good news. You're comparably not the worst doomed yaoi out there.

Buggy had always thought Shanks' eyes were the color of dried blood, a deep red, but somehow that description never felt quite right. Then one day, while cooking, Buggy suddenly realized:

"It's molasses."

Shanks' eyes are dark, almost black at first glance, but sunlight gives them a reddish tint. They seem to melt whenever Shanks smiles, warm and rich, sweet at first but leaving behind a faint bitter aftertaste.

"Like a trap."

I hate it when people portray Shanks & Buggy's relationship as Buggy yearning and being bitter and Shanks as not caring about him. Buggy is most definitely bitter— you got that part right— but Shanks is yearning it up like crazy over here. Buggy does not ever want to see Shanks again, and Shanks spends every night depressed and alone wishing that he and buggy could travel the seas together like what they planned as kids. They grew up with each other and were best friends. It is incredibly out of character for Shanks to just throw away and forget about someone who he spent so much time and was so close with.
