did that thing with carry on characters where you have ai generate art based off the words you put in, and i think the results are pretty cool:
order is:
2x simon snow
2x baz
2x penelope
2x agatha

why’d i actually feel a bit bad for the demon lmao
me reading the ~tail scene~
Thinking about "Snowvians" today. Ruth took the photo.
i'm sorry if someone has already done this but it's all i could think about
thinking about... how these books get less and less magical as they go. thinking about how magic is sometimes used to avoid dealing with things that you’d rather ignore. thinking about how in WS we get dead spots. and in AWTWB we get spells to eliminate magic and make Simon immune to magic. thinking about how Penelope didn’t use magic to get shepard out of his curse. And in each case the lack of magic causes something else, something strong and valuable, to rise up in the characters. thinking about the mundanity of eating toast in bed with your boyfriend, who has wings and a tail and who IS magical. thinking about non-magical tailors who can fix Simon’s shirts. thinking about how this book is for you— never let them tell you you’re not magic.
"why is simon so horny" i would be too if i had a hot vampire boyfriend who was emotionally supportive and would do anything for me idk what to tell you
If you look really closely you can tell they are the same

Simon Snow
now i want to go and be gay in ikea
i forgot how uncomplicated happiness being active in the carry on fandom brought me. been way too invested in toxic fandoms for way too long. nice to take a step back into a fandom that's never really frustrated me the same way.
my god am i happy that simon’s family are nice people and not shitholes like the mage
my thoughts on any way the wind blows spoilers below
finished any way the wind blows and for once i am not devastated to complete a series. i’ve loved this world and characters since fangirl and i was worried when i finished it that i would feel a bit of emptiness. but i was actually happy with the conclusion and where characters were left off. not saying it was perfect by any means but i was satisfied.
i was happy to see simon and baz not necessarily work through all their issues, but talk about communication and how to fix things between them. it wouldn’t have been believable to me if there was a confrontation and apology and then it was all fine. didn’t super expect that, since rainbow doesn’t usually write relationships like that, but i can’t say there wasn’t a little apprehension considering this is finale book. i love scenes when both characters can admit their wrong doings and commit to doing better. simon and baz aren’t a perfect couple but they are a heartfelt one. they love each other, and instead of being complacent with each others issues, they are able to call them out.
that being said being said as someone who doesn’t super love steamy scenes in my books, it was a little hard to read here and there lmao. nothing super racy, but idk, reading intimate scenes make me feel like i’m intruding.
shepard was one of the best things introduced in wayward son. and his character only got better in awtwb’s. he balanced well with penny and honestly one of the funniest parts in the book.
agatha and niamh also a favorite. i like the idea that agatha gets to live a peaceful life surrounded by an cute flying goats and a uncomplicated lover & friend.
the book itself seems way more focused on the relationships between characters and their relationship towards magic. the conflict was interesting but never seemed as high stakes as carry on’s did or even wayward son. smith seemed like an after thought of antagonist. and the climax wasn’t super climatic. there was a very lengthy build up though out the book, i thought there were going to be higher stakes, or at least that smith was going to be a little more difficult to deal with. i couldn’t really grasp smith’s motivations. maybe that makes me dumb or something lol. because it feels like it was explained but i’m still not really grasping it.
but i don’t necessarily completely mind that either. the deep dive into baz and simons relationship was enough for me, and after wayward son i really wanted to see them grow as individuals and as a couple. i also liked the additional plot of dealing with shepard’s demon and agatha finding her place.
overall i just wanted the characters to be some sort of happy at the end and i think they all did find happiness they deserved.
side note can’t wait to see the fan art that comes out of this
my reaction to agatha and niamh
