One thing I like about sskk in comparison to skk is that sskk take their death treats seriously. Like Dazai will be all like “take some bullets and die, thanks 🙄🙄” to Chuuya but never actually follow through. In the meantime sskk across the street will have Atsushi ripping Akutagawa's ribcage open with his bare hands while Akutagawa is like, trying really hard to cut Atsushi's head off.

Honestly Camp Jupiter having adults and still having 15 year old Jason Grace 1 V 1 a titan makes me physically ill because at least at Camp Halfblood there were no adults and the kids had to band together.

These guys had adults who had retired after 10 years of service and still sent kids to their deaths.

I know the real answer is because Atsushi wouldn’t have remembered transforming back then. But I do find it very telling that we always see Atsushi locked away in the orphanage and never the tiger.

Concept:

After reading the Sunshine Court Kevin’s little “it’s easier to remain heterosexual” line is no longer funny in fact it is utterly devastating.

Kevin watched Jean suffer his whole life because of who he was and he was genuinely trying to look out for Neil when he said just stay straight.

Oh my god…I’m just imagining Kevin if he was queer trying to hide it the best he could. Cause he knows that Riko will use that against him or even worse that he will use that to have Kevin hurt Jean.

And Kevin would rather live a lie trying to maintain that mask, that performance that is Kevin fucking Day then let anyone even Jean know that about him.

The last thing Kevin wants is to hurt Jean more than he already has done and he would take that to his grave. He would keep him at a distance knowing what Jean feels for him because he can’t bring him down with him.

Kevin would rather Jean hate him for the rest of his life if it meant ultimately that Jean got to be happy for once in his life.

Who cares if he himself is stuck in a lie dating someone that remains loyal to the man who abused him…maybe it’s what Kevin always deserved. It could ruin his Exy career and Kevin is nothing if he cannot play and he has lost to much to lose this.

I do love how Neil and Jean are both like yeah Kevin’s an arrogant little arsehole and someone needs to take him down a peg. But the second Kevin even starts to doubt himself both of them are falling over themselves to remind him that he is KEVIN DAY and he better start fucking acting like it!

I actually do get emotional about Kevin insisting the Trojans play the way Exy should be played because that’s probably how his mother wanted it to be too before Tetsuju tainted her legacy and used it as a tool for bloodshed and violence.

And thats probably why Kevin admires the Trojans so much and that he wanted Jean to experience that.

No because even Riko got beaten in the Nest. Even Riko, King of the Court, the Masters nephew had to answer to him like any other Raven when it came down to it.

Yes he got let off so much easier than anyone else and yes he had so much power and privilege within the Nest and over them.

But it still didn’t spare him so I don’t know why people think Kevin got let off the hook. He was in a higher position than most people but if even Riko didn’t get spared why would he?!

He might stand as his equal in public but at the end of the day he was still Riko’s property. And you think he got treated better than his master?

You think after the Nest collapsed that the Foxes realised just how fucking close they got to losing Kevin completely?

Every day they watch as a new headline comes out of a Raven player being found dead or trying to end their lives because they couldn’t handle leaving the Nest.

And mind you they were only there for a couple of years while Kevin grew up there glued to Riko’s side and having to build himself up all over again.

Jean’s also in a bad place but at the very least has people who were warned and could get help and tips from Kevin on what to do.

But Kevin was the trial run. For once in his life he was first and he had to figure this all out while trying not to destroy himself from the inside out.

Kevin lost everything when he left and there’s no doubt in his mind that he was ever supposed to succeed. He didn’t have someone to drag his battered body out of the Nest he drove himself out of hell itself with a broken hand.

The fact he’s here is a miracle in itself and I can just imagine Neil recalling Wymack’s “if we lose the game against the Ravens, Kevin won’t survive” speech and realising how true that sentiment was.

Also goes to show just how well Kevin is at hiding in plain sight.

Concept: Kevin after the choking incident covering his neck. He starts wearing turtlenecks and loosely wraps a scarf around him when he’s without one.

No one comments on it thinking it’s because Kevin is uncomfortable seeing the physical evidence of his protector hurting him.

When in actuality it’s because the Nest had a golden rule, one that Kevin knew better than most “never injure where the public can see it.”

When Riko hurt someone enough to have it call attention he too was punished for it by the Master. Andrew had rightfully punished Kevin for deceit (albeit a lot more forgiving than he was used too.)

So Kevin instinctively hides the evidence because he doesn’t want Andrew to get punished for it too. He just got taken off his court ordered medication for nearly killing a bunch of guys.

Who knew what could happen to him if people saw that his teammate had dark bruises in the shape of his hands around his neck.

Kevin had already hurt Andrew enough by lying to him. He wouldn’t dare cause him any more pain because he couldn’t hide well enough.

The bruises themselves didn’t really bother him.

They weren’t a symbol of betrayal like others may believe but instead a sign of the inevitable. Of the rules that would follow him wherever way he went and the standards he must abide by.

Kevin didn’t regret keeping Neil’s secrets but he does wish it didn’t have him break his word to Andrew. But it was his own fault, it always was after all and Andrew was just correcting that.

This was a reminder to be better.

I just know that Sally Jackson had a bloody aneurysm learning of Jason’s name. That woman made sure to name her son after a Greek hero that had a rare happy ending because names have power.

So imagine her meeting this sweet little friend of Percy’s that was named after a hero that lost all favour with the gods and died alone on a ship.

And was sailing around on a life or death quest on a ship of that same name.

Jason’s just like oh yeah my dad named me and Sally’s smile almost cracks.
