i am sick and tired of society not allowing young girls to excel - to be talented and successful. just because a song is about a teenage girl’s experience and is written in the language typically used by teenage girls it does not mean that its any less artistic or any less of a majestic piece of both singing and songwriting. people did it to taylor when she was younger and yet masterpieces like dear john have stood the tests of time. in the same vein, people are dismissing drivers license when its a raw and beautiful expression of a young girl’s emotions. taylor swift and olivia rodrigo are fucking prodigies and I will defend them and their talent because they have earned and deserve everything that they have achieved.
