Guys, I am so sorry I haven't been on for such a long time, but my classes at university have already started. And I'm part of a group project for older students to help new students finding their way around, teaching them about the rules, help them with their books, etc etc, so it's taking up a bit of my free time. All this put together with writer's block for my muse is a really bad combo...

Jane jumped, her heart screaming in her chest for a split second before it settled back into a steady beat. She had spun around to face the owner of the voice that had made her nearly jump out of her skin.

"I-I’m sorry, do I…Do I know you? Have we met?" Her eyes were warm and her expression curious, an expression that was on her face more often than not, one that had put permanent crows feet at the corner of her eyes, ones that would become more defined as she grew older. 

He was a handsome man, pale and completely different than the other Asgardians she had seen. His clothes were more vibrant, the green a perfect contrast to the metallic silver in his armor. “I…Sorry. Um,” she held out a hand to him for a handshake, a pleasant smile on her face.

"You know me, but I don’t have the pleasure of knowing you."

Not bad, Loki would say, for a human. She clearly knew not the royal vocabulary which was expected of a maiden, but she scored high in other aspects, such as kindness and delicate gestures. And she was, indeed, very beautiful. The god was unable to read minds, even though he could easily control them or talk into them, but he was fairly good at perceiving other people - having grown as the quiet brother granted him that. While Thor would go around punching people and bragging, Loki would stand behind and simply observe; learning how to read another's emotions by simply noticing their body language. And Jane, truly, was oblivious to his identity.

Oh, that was going to be amusing, he thought to himself. With his smile firmly in place, he accepted her hand and gently took it into his own, bringing it up as his head went a bit down, till his lips left a kiss on the back of the hand. Smooth skin as well, it reminded him of his wife's. However, he was just about to drop the bomb - and call him a lunatic, but he was eager for her reaction. Loki's life in the cage had really gotten to the point of boredom where even a punch to the face would be more interesting than doing nothing in the morning, nothing in the afternoon, and more nothing in the evening.

That was actually his way of implying he'd rather like to have a repetition of that night, anytime soon, but even Loki wouldn't have the balls to say that out loud, when they weren't even done with the first one yet. Either way, he did mean it. Even if they didn't end up having real sex before morning came, it would still be more than perfect in his eyes. After all, he was being allowed to do things he'd barely even dare to dream of. Brushing the short locks of ebony out of his face, he kissed her lips gently and then returned further down. This time, however, he didn't waste time with any further little kissing and teasing. Gently spreading her legs a bit more open, the prince fit his head in between them and pressed his lips to the same sweet spot his thumb had been caressing before. With a gently suck, he moved in even deeper and used his tongue to penetrate her, waiting for the reaction before any other future steps.

The Fallen Prince || Loki and Sif

Sif sat in silence, still trying to take in everything Loki had told her. She did not know how it could be true. Loki looked normal, though his skin was more pale than most and his hair was the darkest shade of black she had ever seen, besides her own that was. She wondered if Thor knew of his brother’s true parentage, and if he had, why had he not told her? Had Odin really been ashamed of Loki because of where he came from, or was it because of all he had done since he found out what he was.

"Loki, I cannot believe that Odin would be ashamed of you because of that. I know not why he took you from the castle that day, but he obviously felt some remorse. You were just a baby, left to die. Even though you were not Asgardian, he must have wanted to protect you."

Was it protection that led Odin to taking the Frost Giant baby? Or was it for a greater purpose that he took Loki that day. Sif could understand why Odin would have kept it a secret. She knew how the people of Asgard felt about the Frost Giants, especially after the war that had happened between their people. They were seen as monsters. Sif herself had feared them when she was younger. While she was loyal to her king, she could not hesitate in thinking that Loki being taken that day was for a much greater purpose. Perhaps peace between the worlds. Had Laufey even known Loki was his son? Would any of it have mattered.

Something else started to make sense to the warrior. She now knew why Thor had always been put above Loki in Odin’s eyes. Though the Allfather would never admit that he favored the elder more, everyone in the realm could tell, they just turned the other cheek. Now that she knew where Loki had come from she could understand. Odin would not want the son of a Frost Giant sitting on the throne, even if Loki knew not who he was. She resented the King for that. How could anyone put a child through that. She had seen how Odin had treated Thor when they were younger. Loki was always put on the backburner. But Frigga had always been impartial when it came to her children.

"I am sorry Loki. I am sorry the Allfather never told you where you came from."

Shaking her head, she looked back up at him. “You owe me nothing Loki. I would do anything to make sure Sigyn is safe. You know she has always been like a sister to me. I will pass along your message as well. Perhaps I might even convince the Allfather to let her come to visit you. Supervised of course.”

Sif made things sound really noble, when she talked like that. He'd been only a baby, needing protection... Yes, Odin himself had said the same, back in the day. And then, after getting angry enough, Loki had pried the ugly truth out of him. Still, it was a very convenient and honorable tale to tell. I found a baby and adopted him as a my own, I am such a great man. Hearing that in his head, in his father's voice, Loki now couldn't help a quiet snort. How foolish he had been, when younger... Always believing it, when he was told he was not considered inferior to Thor and tha his time of glory would also arrive.

"Father took me because I was useful. Through me, he planned to unite the two realms. He used these very same words, when talking to me that day."

And he'd leave all the interpretations up to his friend. Maybe she'd think it was still the right thing to do, because it would mean eternal peace and happiness, like in romance books. Or maybe she would be intelligent and see the same as Loki did - that Odin planned to rule not over Asgard only but also over Jotunheim, thanks to a half blood prince he'd once stumbled upon. As it was, he could also tell her how close he'd been to be killed that fateful day, when he'd snuck inside the vault to examine the Cacket. How the Destroyer was triggered by his monstruous presence and only stopped because Odin entered the room, as well. He wouldn't, however. Loki wasn't a man to want anybody's pity. When he'd most needed to be treated as an equal, it had no happened - now, he didn't want it anymore. There was another heart melting story he could talk of, however.

"Back in front of Jotunheim's palace... Do you remember, when Laufey and Thor held their conversation for a short while, right before the battle began? Do you remember his words to Thor? Your father is a murderer and a thief - maybe now you can understand what he meant."

Loki himself had not understood it, at the moment, but he did recall feeling a chill running down his spine - some sort of connection with that person, which he could not explain. His real father, now he knew... Laufey had recognized him. Even if the prince did not acknowledge him as a loved one, he couldn't deny that simple gesture had warmed his heart. Maybe Laufey would have been a better father... who knew. Since most of the facts were on the table now, he felt as though a weight had somewhat been lifted from his shoulders. It was rather nice, to just have a chat with Sif like that - as if nothing as ever happened. As if they were still best friends and went around Frigga's garden playing pranks on each other, without a care in the world. Not even realizing he was smiling at the thought, the prince shifted to face the goddess again.

"That would be wonderful, if she was allowed to visit. I have years of pent up sexual frustration to take care of."

Tony nearly doubled over. Pepper, his wife! He couldn’t imagine being married, he couldn’t imagine even settling down and having kids. How would he even be as a father? He remembered the kid Harley who he had talked down to and didn’t feel even slightly bad that the kid had a father who had abandoned him and his mother. He could only imagine how he would act around his own children if he had any. Tony was actually surprised with his own sexual trysts that he hadn’t impregnated a woman yet. After all, he had had flings quite a bit when he was a womanizer/playboy. Pepper was a doll, and he was really quite smitten by Pepper. She was a fantastic woman who deserved so much better than someone like Tony.

"Well, for one, she’s not my wife. At least, not yet, though I do have great feelings for her, and I’ll do whatever it is she wants me to." Pepper was probably the only one who could keep Tony Stark under wraps, and could still cause him to be himself, and accept him for who he was. No one really understood Tony Stark except for Pepper, it seemed. "But, I’d appreciate it if you’d not make a move on her. I’m rather fond of her, and she’s the only thing that keeps me sane."

"Yeah, well, don’t get used to it. I’m generally not really a giving person. I prefer a take-take kind of relationship, but, if you think I’m so generous, and you truly are grateful, then, I have no choice but to accept that. So, I accept your grateful attitude, and I’ll be happy to let you have free reign in my house," Tony continued, waving his hand. "There are a few rules, however. No going into my bedroom when I’m in there after hours. You have no clue what I might be doing. You are not allowed to go down to the basement. And, don’t touch my stuff. Other than that, you’re more than welcome to do whatever the hell you want."

Tony quirked an eyebrow. Loki, married? That was a new one. Then again, he was a prince where he was from, so, he was bound to be married off. That was custom, right? Tony had heard about some of the customs of Asgard from Thor. He merely figured that Loki could get any woman he wanted given his status. And, Loki wasn’t bad looking. Well, he certainly wasn’t as handsome as Tony himself, but, Loki would do. He could get a woman with no problem. Women liked men with an ego, who was sophisticated, who was slightly arrogant and who had wealth and status. Sometimes, it didn’t even matter about the looks as long as they were wealthy. He didn’t know how it worked in Asgard, but, he could bet marriages were arranged, and status meant a lot in Asgard, rather than looks.

Tony merely chuckled. “So, you’re married, huh? Got any little Lokis running around? I might need to lock my stuff up permanently, if you have some of your children running around.”

So they actually were not married, as it was. Loki blinked, trying to understand why people would fornicate with another when they weren't married or concubines, but well. Just like Tony himself had pointed out a minute ago, he barely knew a thing of Midgard's habits. The more he learned, however, the more he belived that race needed a ruler. They were all going around having sex and running off, as it was - and then Sif would go and accuse him of overpopulating Asgard with his own offspring.

"You have my word. I may be a trickster, but even my kind has a certain code of honor to abide for. Plus, I am a warrior, Mr. Stark. I settle my scores on the battle field, not under my enemies' bed sheets."

Listening to the house rules, now, the prince kept the amused smile on his face. He wasn't sure if Tony was doing it on purpose or if he even knew he was having that effect, but Loki was one of those people who, when told to not do something, that was when he'd really go and do it, just for the hell of it. He understood why Tony wanted him out of his room, it made sense since it was a private division of the house - Loki himself was anal about that and, back in the day, would always get pissed off whenever Thor just invaded his chamber without knocking. The basement, however... What did he keep there, that was so confidential? Maybe it was his laboratory? Maybe it was where those iron suits were made and stored? It wasn't like he had the intention of stealing anything, having no real interest in technology unless he desperately need it, but the mystery was making him all but curious.

Regardless, being questioned about his children, the Asgardian laughed and didn't answer promptly. He was going to shock Stark with that topic, he was sure of it - hell, even people back in his realm thought his sexual life was awkward, let alone a human who was used to man-on-woman and, occasionally, homosexual relationships only. He wouldn't pass out on the chance, however. Loki might not look like the typical family man, but he was rather proud of his kids, as it was, even if some of them had had really tragic endings.

"I have mated before, yes. Six times, to be precise. Three times with a Frost Giantess from Jotunheim, my homeland. With her, I had three children: Hel, Fenrir and Jormungand - this last one is closely related to your world, as a matter of fact. With my wife, Sigyn, I had two: Vali and Narfi. And with a stallion who I was once asked to distract, I accidentaly had the last one, Sleipnir, who's now living with my father."

Maybe Tony would now ask more about it, especially considering the stallion part. And that was when Loki would really amuse himself while explaining.

"Well i am basically just a glorified and over paid killer, or so says most people when i’m sent to take them out."

Jumping back and to the side so he could get away from the blast of energy, he was not expecting to suddenly be  stabbed into his side.  Nor was he expecting the pain and the way his knee’s wanted to buckle under him as his mind just lost all functions to stand.  Every ounce of energy was now focusing on the lance that was in his side, the way that his blood just seemed to seep around the object.  After a few seconds, he was able to move slightly pulling himself away from the man and a hand quickly went to the wound in his side.  But without the added force to keep himself up, his knee’s buckled under him.

With gritted teeth, he reached for the gun that was only inches from him, pulling it out and pointing it at him. 

"G-Get out!"

Watching the blood gush out, Loki licked his lips eagerly. Maybe it was his Jotun nature which caused that, for the race was supposed to be one of monsters, but such a sight would really excite him, as of late. He'd been careful to not hit a vital spot, however - he needed Clint alive and breathing for his next prank. He'd only meant to stop him from wriggling around so much. Actually helping the man pulling himself away from the spear, he brought it back and waved it around again, the crimson fluid dripping over the mattress and the carpet. Then, raising an amused brow at the gun, the prince lifted a boot a smashed it right over the other's hand, keeping it down.

"Oh, no, I won't. Not until I watch the light fading out of your eyes."

Nodding, she snapped the handles together as hard as she could, putting as much force as she could, hearing a small crinkling, but now more.  It was as if the cutter had gone through.  So as she pulled the cutter away, she looked at the bracelet and noticed that even though small, there was a cut in it and should allow them to remove it.  Raine, moved and got another pair of pillars and started to pull the two pieces away from one another.

"Almost got it."

Loki gritted his teeth and stood up tall and stoic, enduring the struggle. To be honest, he'd gone through so much in the last couple of years, pain didn't really get to him much, anymore. Sometimes, he even welcomed it, in a rather unhealthy way - feeling pain meant he was still alive, if nothing else. As he heard the faintest cracking sound, however, a satisfied grin bloomed on his thin lips. Oh yes... they were on the good way. Waiting for Raine to change tools, he shifted his position a little and stood his ground once more, eyes glued to the bracelet and dying to see it, at last, breaking in half.

I have to say that the Odinsleep in this scene is probably the Number #1 Reason (so numbered it needs twice the numbering, even) that I dislike Odin.

It’s like, oh yes. Let’s make this about your pain again, Odin. You manipulative douchebag. And you fucking wonder why one of your sons is an evil bastard, and the other an obnoxious bully. Sheesh.

a.) Tom Hiddleston deserves so much praise for making Loki afraid to touch Odin for fear of frost-burning him, because OMG

Odin is a great big bag of dicks, and I do not love him even a little bit.  I get that being a parent is super-hard, and being a parent and a king makes everything three thousand times worse, but how can you be so fucking blind to the needs of your children how.  Thor needed to not get away with being an arrogant ass once in a while, you know, before you were ready to crown him king and he was ready to plunge everyone into interplanetary war.  And right now Loki needs you to speak honestly, to speak plainly, to tell him the whole truth— because he can fucking tell if you’re lying or dissembling or only telling part of the story, he’s the fucking liesmith, and if you don’t he’s only going to assume the worst, because you’ve done a horrible job up until now of letting him know that he is loved and valued— and to reassure the fuck out of him that you love and value him for his own merits.  And to repeat those reassurances ad nauseum.  I know you think you’re helping, with the “welp I’d better be honest!  Well Loki the real reason I took you in was in order to use you as a political pawn, obvs; gosh, Loki, why would that make you upset?  Stop being upset, it’s hurtful”, Odin, but oh my god you’re really really not.

I’m not even sure why that’s so horrifying, because a frost giant has just lifted the Casket from its pedestal and I’m not sure how much more specific you can make a magically automatic security system, really I can’t fault the logic there

but that’s still striking some sort of horrified chord in me, that if Odin hadn’t commanded otherwise, the Destroyer would have fired on him

I don’t even…have words for how violated the bolded makes me feel. Just…gods, I never even thought of the implications of that bit until now, but jfc it’s horrifying. Gods, the more I think about this movie, the more I have a hard time seeing why the fuck I’m supposed to sympathize with the supposed “heroes” in this film. Jesus, I love Thor and the movie itself, and I don’t want to come across as leather pants’ing Loki, but… I just. Loki is cast both as this socially excluded character, and as…well “other,” racially. The latter is far more important, because holy fuck guys racism is a real thing that people in the actual real world have to deal with in their actually real lives. Like, this is the shit people forget when they rave on about “Loki apologists.” Trans-racial adoption is a thing that actually happens. The shit that Odin pulls on Loki with regards to his race is an actual thing that happens. Internalized racism is an actual thing that people have to deal with. Yes, they deal with a fictional character and a fictional race, but they have implications in the real world - because they reflect on how we deal with it in the real goddamn world. And this whole fucking movie, love it is as I do, reflects how white people deal with racism. It plays out for the benefit of the privileged and the status-quo, which ultimately goes completely unchallenged because obvs Loki was evil, sheesh. He was a frost giant, what did you expect? So the heroes of this film are basically racist dickbags who ultimately learn nothing, and even worse get to prance around as if they had the moral high ground all along. In the scene where Thor tells Loki he can’t kill an entire race? Thor is right. What Loki is doing is incredibly fucked up. My problem with this is not that I think Loki is right about committing genocide, because he’s fucking not. My problem is that Odin and Thor get to dance around telling Loki how to feel about being Jotun. They get to be portrayed as morally right because they don’t think the Jotun deserve to be wiped out of existence (never mind that you raised Loki to believe they’re inferior, Odin). You don’t get fucking cookies for basic decency, guys! So Loki basically gets cast as the villain for being “other.” For not reacting well to the revelation that his entire life is a lie, and that he’s a member of a race he was raised to view as inferior. And don’t even get me started on how mad I get with people who tell me I should be sympathetic to Odin. Don’t even fucking start. I am so fucking done with people who claim that Loki is “twisting” Odin’s words in this scene. Because this scene is not about Odin’s pain. Look. This shit is hard for me to deal with as an Asian-American, okay? You can’t ask me to sympathize with Thor who is blonde, blue eyed, and of the dominant race. He’s at the top of the food chain. You can’t ask me to sympathize with Odin when the way he raised Loki (wrt his race) is frankly deplorable. You especially can’t ask this of me because I know how Loki feels. I know racism, and I know internalized racism. I’ve gotten away with passing myself off as the dominant race, too (see: internalized racism). It’s something I’ve only very recently come to terms with, and it makes me angry and upset. Yes, with myself. This movie basically gives me this character I identify with (who yeah, is played by a white actor but that’s a different discussion), and then casts him as the villain for these things both he and I have had to struggle with. And hey. Loki’s reaction to this knowledge is pretty fucked up, I’m not arguing that. The shit I’ve pulled in the past wasn’t right either. I look back on some of my actions and cringe in shame. I’m really glad I’m not that person anymore! But Thor, member of the dominant race, who was also genocidal and started a fucking war because some dude insulted his masculinity gets a chance to make amends. He gets the chance to be a better man. I’m glad he did, because I love Thor, but uh… Then Loki, we’re supposed to believe, is just a bad egg? Why the double standard? Right, because Loki is a frost giant and so he’s just evil like that. :/ Oh, and for the record? I think Odin’s decision to banish Thor so some other people could deal with his son’s problems - to send him off to live with “the mortals” to learn humility - is pretty fucked up, too.

Oh god, the bolded! I’ve always hated Odin telling a Jotun how he should feel about being Jotun, especially when he had a direct hand in his fucked-up view of Jotuns and being Jotun.

The thing that has always driven me insane about Thor is that I could never tell if was intentionally written as a reflection about how privileged whites deal with racism and vilify any ‘other’ who has been warped by their racism (and then tell it from the dominant race’s point of view, as they are the ones in a position of power and they control the narrative), or if it was totally unintentional and the writers were simply blind to the racial connotations of their story, that their privilege was showing. It really could go either way, and it makes me worry about the potential Loki being cast as a straight up evil villain in future movies, and the unfortunate implications thereof.

I see that J. Michael Straczynski was given partial story credit, and though I never watched his old show, Babylon 5, I have heard it often dealt well with racial and social issues (he also used to write for He-Man and She-Ra, and I’m more amused about that than I should be). So it might have actually been intentional because (especially when one adds in all the cut scenes) Loki really doesn’t come off as villainous. At least not how other Marvel villains have been villainous. Loki ain’t no Red Skull.

Which is not to say Loki was right, because as you said he was clearly wrong in many of his actions, but they stemmed primarily from internalized racism, fear, and really rather justified paranoia. Because he certainly did have something to fear if his heritage got out while the only two people with the strength, inclination, and authority to protect him are gone, as Frigga’s exact status and strength is unknown. I have no doubt she would have helped and defended him as much as she could, but how much magic or fighting skills she actually has in the MCU wasn’t defined, and she was not allowed to rule when Odin went into Odinsleep, so I don’t know what legal authority she could have had (not that legality matters much to an angry mob).

And while Loki is a little shit, he initially was a little shit for the right reasons. He wasn’t doing it for power, or revenge, or glory, he was doing it because his fucked-up family might very well drag their whole realm into war and nobody was listening to reason. It’s not be a ‘Loki-Apologist’ to say that Loki was actually right about that, that he was actually concerned about the greater good.  The problem was his scheme quickly spiraled out of control, and then Odin’s A+ Parenting happened, and then Loki flailed widely, and then Thor was all “This girl I knew for two days totally changed me!” (which he thought meant that he and Loki could begin to mend their fences because he’s better now, but all Loki heard was that he was totally unimportant to Thor, because those two have terrible communication skills), and then Loki tried to kill himself, and then all of Asgard threw a party.

I’m not sure if there was ever a Word of God on this, but I’ve wondered if the reason that cut so many of the “Loki Is Not A Total Douche” scenes is because when they took a look at their finished project, TPTB realized that they has no villain other than institutionalized racism, and they needed to make Loki less sympathetic so their Good Guys wouldn’t look like such assholes.

But, yeah, I don’t doubt that Odin loves both his sons and meant well, but that is not enough. There is no fucking excuse for raising your son to hate his own race, or for raising one son to hate the other’s race. How the hell was he supposed to ‘unite the kingdoms’ that way? Was he planning to raise Loki to hate and fear the Jotuns, then ship him off there one day with a rhinestone crown pinned to his jacket and a pat on the back? Was Odin planning on forcing the Jotuns to accept Loki as their King (holy hell that would fit in with the whole racism theme, the superpower putting their puppet rulers in charge of smaller, poorer countries)? Was he relying on Loki’s own love and desperate desire to please him and the internalized racism so neatly installed in him to keep him loyal to Asgard? The fuck, Odin?

Grabbing her cutters, she walked over and nodded hr head just slighlt.  Moving one edge under the bracelet and looked up slightly to make sure that nothing was getting caught, that the other wasn’t going to flinch away in fear when she actually removed it.  Looking back down, she adjusted it just a bit more before he gave the go ahead that he lowered the resistance and she quickly snapped the handles together in hopes of removing the bracelet.

Maybe any sane person would have given that act a second thought, for fear or losing a limb or something worse. Loki, however, didn't really fit together with that adjective in a same sentence. Straightening himself up again, he rolled up his long sleeve and bared his wrist and the hated baracelet to the cutters. With everything positioned, he focused and gathered the faint amount of power he had at his mercy at the moment, aiming for the bracelets atoms. Gritting his teeth, once he was sure it was as fragile as he could possibly make it, he gave Raine a knowing look and prepared himself for eventual pain - which, hopefully, would be totally worth it.
