Azul was the type of man that would get what he wants in any way possible. He had his eyes set on making his bullies pay? Done, going to land? Done, becoming housewaren? Done, making the prefect his? Not done, yet.
It was just supposed to be the end of the semester, yuu did their studying, even scolding their roommate grim for staying up all night studying. Yuu was a curious one, since they are from another world it only made sense that they wanted to learn about the new world. What really made them curious was the students of different species, like the beastmen. Jack now being part of the first year gang, he would answer their questions about the similarities between real wolves and beastmen wolves.
Though yuu loved learning about their new friends as well. They’ve even went down a rabbit hole of learning about the great seven. “Wow! Jack did you know that the king of beasts took over the animal kingdom after his brother was killed?! Wow…he must had really loved his brother.” Yuu says with a gasp as they looked up from their history book. “Yes yuu, we learn about the great seven in elementary school. But it’s refreshing to see someone excited about history.” Jack says with a nod taking pride in his dorm. “Oh yeah! Leona helped me study! After I bugged him and kept waking him up.” Yuu says with a smile and chuckle.
“Someone been hanging out with ruggie.” Ace teases feeling confident about his exams. Deuce and grim as well. “Well beastmen are interesting! I mean we don’t have guys like you in my world, this would only be better if mermaids exist too.” Yuu says as they go back to reading. “But mermaids do exist.” Deuce says then flinched hearing a book slam down on the lunch table.
“MERMAIDS EXIST TOO?!” Yuu yells causing the whole cafeteria to look over at the group. “Yuu! Rule: 237 says to keep your voice down while having a meal!” Riddle says from his own table to scold her. “Sorry riddle!” Yuu says calming themselves down. “Sorry got a bit excited, I’ve always love mermaid folklore!” Yuu says with a nervous chuckle. “Well I don’t know much, but if anyone knows the most about merfolk it would be the students of Octavinelle and- hey where are you going?!” Deuce says seeing yuu jump from their seat.
Ace and deuce quickly grab Yuu and drag them before they could talk to any Octavinelle student. “Hey! So um…oh look we finished our meals we should go. Like now. Dorm rules!” Ace says dragging yuu away from the cafeteria. Back in class Crewel gave back the exams to the students, letting them see their scores.
“Haha pretty good for someone not from here right guys?” Yuu says showing their well scored exam, but the victory was short lived seeing ace, deuce and grim run to see the rankings. Yuu shrugged and followed them outside to see the scores. “No! I’m not in the top fifty! This is so not good!” Ace says making deuce and grim panic too.
“Wait if you’re scared then that means…”
The three were panicking as yuu was confused. “Whats wrong? You guys got pretty scores! You should be proud, but it is weird that you all scored the same.” Yuu says looking at the score board. Jack walks over to his friends confused what was going on. “Why do they all look scared?” Jack asked yuu, they shrugged. “Your guess is as good as mine Jack. They- what the heck is growing on their heads?!” Yuu says scared seeing an sea-anemone on Ace, Deuce and Grim’s heads. The trio screamed as other boys started growing sea-anemones as well.
“Ah! Get it off! Get it off!”
“Ahhh! I can’t let my housewaren see this!”
“What the heck is going on?!” Yuu says in a panic as the boys including ace, deuce and grim started getting pulled them to the same place. “Come on Jack! We gotta help them, let’s follow and see where theyre going.” Yuu says before getting stopped by Jack.
“Oh no you aren’t. Last time you got involved with something like this you had to face overblots. What if this leads to something like that again?” Jack scolds yuu. “No way, crowely says it’s a rare thing, besides it’s our friends and theyre in trouble!” Yuu says as Jack crosses his arms.
“Ohhh…I see. You’re scared. Didn’t think wolf beastmen were actually…chickens.” Yuu says placing theyre hands on their hips with a smug grin. Jack growls and huffs. “I’m not scared or a chicken! Come on!” Jack says marching off to follow the group of boys going to the Octavinelle mirror.
Jack and yuu get inside the monstro lounge, yuu’s eyes widen in awe. All around her, a sea theme restaurant. Of course she’s been to one in her world but not like this. She actually felt like she was under water. “This dorm is so unique! Like we’re actually in the sea!” Yuu says in awe as Jack huffs seeing Ace, Deuce and grim be put to work. “There they are!” Jack goes over to them as Yuu was still distracted by the decor.
“That’s shrimpy right Jade?” Floyd says to Jade watching yuu from afar.
“Yes indeed Floyd, I’ll let Azul know his…’guest’ has arrived just as he planned.” Jade says with a grin on his face. “You keep her distracted from their school of guppies.” Jade tells Floyd as he heads off to azul’s office. Floyd laughs and heads over to yuu.
“Heya shrimpy! Remember me?” Floyd says jumping in front of yuu startling them. “O-oh right you’re that guy that calls riddle goldfishie and chased us that one time!” Yuu says remembering him, they were a bit wary since riddle did warn them that Floyd and his twin brother Jade weren’t to be trusted. They weren’t the safest fish in the sea.
“Haha! You remember me! Good good, say a little fishie told me that you like sea stuff. Check out the tanks got real fish and everything.” Floyd says guiding Yuu away from their friends. They looked in awe of all the fishes and the tanks. “Do you ever wish to be part of that world? To be some kind of merfolk..” Yuu says as Floyd chuckles.
“Oh shrimpy you’re so cute! I am a merfolk! I’m a moray eel merman. My twin too! And you know…azul is an octopus merman.” Floyd says flashing his sharp tooth smile. Yuu looks at Floyd curious. “An octopus merman? And you’re a moray eel one? Wow…this school is full of so many surprises.” Yuu says as Floyd takes their hand to lead them more away from the groups of people.
“My my Floyd did you make a new friend? Hello I’m Jade leech, vice housewarden of Octavinelle. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Said Jade from behind Yuu and Floyd. “Wow! Literally a carbon copy! Your guys parents really said copy and paste.” Yuu says with a smile.
“But of course, try knowing them since they were children. Only thing that’s changed is their height. And they’re still growing last time I checked.” Said another voice, yuu looked behind Jade to see another guy, he had a grey trench-coat on, glasses that brought out his grey-purple eyes.
Gosh…he was the most handsome guy Yuu has ever seen in their life.
“Forgive me, my name is Azul, Azul Ashengrotto.” Azul says gently taking yuu’s hand in his and giving it a small kiss. “And you must be the prefect, you should have been put in pomeforie for how beautiful you are.” Azul says delivering the line smoother than a fresh waxed floor. Yuu swore they felt their heart skip a beat.
“O-Oh! I’m not…I…thank you…” yuu blushes as a cry breaks them out of their trance. Grim comes running to Yuu, running up in their arms and crying. “Yuu! You gotta get me out of here! Theyre making me work and clean and cook!” Grim cries as Azul sighs. “Oh right! Hey Azul do you by any chance know how to help Grim and my friends? I don’t know who would do this to Grim…I mean look at his little face!” Yuu says as Azul chuckles.
“Well you see prefect why don’t we discuss this in my office. And grim? Get back to work.” Azul says taking Grim out of Yuu’s arms and set him on the ground. The twins walk behind yuu not giving grim a chance to get back to yuu. Inside of azul’s office Jade pours Yuu some tea as Azul sits in his chair.
“You see Yuu…I was the one grim and your friends made the contact with.” Azul says with a fake sad smile on his face. “What?! But why? I don’t understand..” yuu says shocked by his words. “Well shrimpy it’s easy! They wanted to pass the exam, but didn’t want to put in the work like you. So they came to azul here and got a pretty sweet study guide out of it.” Floyd explains wrapping his long arm around Yuu’s shoulder.
“Yes, Floyd is correct. All I asked in return was that they would try and score in the top fifty of the exams. But it seems they didn’t so now they’re working off their debts.” Azul explains further as yuu nods. “Oooh I see…okay well that makes sense I guess..” yuu says softly to themself more than to Azul. Just before Azul could tell them any more Jack storms in. “There you are! Come on Yuu I’m getting you out of here. Don’t listen to him! Leona has warned me about Azul and the leech brothers.” Jack says pulling Yuu away from the office and outside with the others.
Later Yuu was getting the worse scolding from Jack, Ace and Deuce combined. “WHO CARES IF HE CALLED YOU PRETTY DON’T TRUST HIM! LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AND DEUCE!” Ace yells at yuu making them flinch. “Look we’re not saying this to be mean, but you have to be smart.” Deuce says gently holding Yuu’s shoulders.
“Even though that hella hard for you.” Ace says under his breath earning himself a smack from Jack. “Just stay away from those three okay? We’ll figure out how to get these things off Ace, Deuce and Grim.” Jack huffs as him and the other two boys walk away.
Later that night jn ramshackle dorm, yuu couldn’t sleep. They watched grim sleep, normally it would be peacefully, but the sea-anemone made it hard for him to be comfortable. They sighed and looked outside their window. There has to be a way to help grim. Then they got it, but Jack was going to hate it.
The next day Yuu and Jack met one on one. “You’re insane.” Jack tells them after hearing their plan. “Whats insane is that Azul is abusing his power! We have to help our friends!” Yuu tells him as Jack’s ear flatten. “Yuu. Last time you had this sense of Justice thing, you almost died to Leona when he overbloted. I don’t want to see you hurt.” Jack says as he looks down to his hands. Yuu takes his larger hand into theirs. “And that won’t happen. I promise you Jack.” Yuu says with a soft smile.
With that Jack was basically Yuu’s bodyguard for the meeting with Azul. “So glad you’ve come back Yuu, we were all so sad to see you leave. And even after Jade made you tea.” Azul says as yuu and Jack enter his office. “Yes I put a lot of effort in brewing that tea for you.” Jade says with a small pout.
“Yeah sorry about that. Right Jack?” Yuu says sitting across from Azul nudging Jack. He huffs and nods. “Yeah. What they said.” Jack says crossing his arms and standing behind yuu to watch over them. “Now from what I understand you wish to find a way to take off the sea-anemones off your friends correct?” Azul says as he pours Yuu some tea. They nod taking a deep breath.
“Yeah. Azul I know they didn’t meet your requirements, but those were high scores! Even for them. Can you find it in your heart or hearts, since I know octopus have three. Also is it true that with your tentacles you can taste with them? Oh I also wanted to ask the twins if-”
“Yuu. You’re getting off track.” Jack interrupts them. “Oh right! Sorry! I want to help my friends. So please…I’ll do whatever it takes.” Yuu says looking at Azul with a pleading look in their eyes. Azul hums and nods. “Okay. I’ll help. How about this…we make a contact, and before your puppy gets all upset here’s the deal.” Azul says with a chuckle as he stands to sit next to yuu. “I’ll need you to grab a little something for me…yeah? Super quick and easy.” Azul says placing his arm around Yuu.
“Okay? And what is this thing I’ll be getting?” Yuu asked him, Azul smiles. “It’s a photo, you see an old friend of mine…can’t stand this photo, and well hed like it gone. Just grab the photo and bring it back to me. I’ll give you a potion to breathe underwater. But…I’ll need something from you for the meantime.” Azul says looking at Yuu deeply, how he wishes those were the eyes hed wake to every morning.
“And that it..?” Yuu asked him nervous about what his answer would be. “Ramshackle dorm.” Azul says making Jack’s tail puff up. “Then where the hell is Yuu and Grim supposed to sleep then?!” Jack yells as Floyd gets in front of him. “Watch it dog…” Floyd says low looking at Jack like he was going to tear his throat out.
“Easy, we have a guest room in Octavinelle, but no animals are allowed.” Azul says as he makes a golden contact appear in front of yuu. “No animals…you mean grim? Then where is grim gonna go?” Yuu asked worried as they looked back at Jack. “Not my problem, this is the only way I’ll help get the sea-anemones off their heads.” Azul says as Jack growls at him.
“…okay…” Yuu says softly taking a pen a signing their name. “It’s a deal! Don’t you worry your pretty little head, Octavinelle will be such a lovely place to sleep. And my room will be right across from yours.” Azul says taking the contact back then giving yuu the breathing potion. “Oh…and you’ll have until the sunset on the third day to get the photo. Good luck.” Azul says with a smile as Floyd and Jade guided the two out of his office.
“Oh god…Jack…where is grim going to sleep?!” Yuu says now full on panicking about her small company. “I’ll let him crash in my dorm don’t worry. We’re going to get that photo, and get your dorm back!” Jack tells yuu with a confident smile.
If only that’s how it really went, Jack, Yuu and Grim went to the coral sea to try and get the photo. Only for the twins to stop them, well not even because yuu got distracted and wasted the whole day learning and admiring the twin’s eel-mer form. “Come on shrimpy one day gone.” Floyd says throwing yuu back through the mirror. Jack sighs as he takes grim to savannaclaw dorm and the twins take yuu.
“But I still have questions!” Yuu says with a pout as Jade throws them over his shoulder. “And we answered enough prefect. Come now it’s nearly curfew.” Jade says walking to Octavinelle. “You know shrimpy if you want…we can go to the pool and take a little swim…I’m sure we can make some waves..” Floyd says with smug smile. Jade gives him a look to shut up as they dropped off Yuu to the guest room. “If you need anything prefect Azul is right across the hall.” Jade says leaving them in their room and closes the door leaving them alone.
Strange, yuu hasnt been fully alone since they first came here. Grim was always by their side, it felt like something was missing. Their little shadow, damnit. They wished they had a phone to be able to call Jack and talk to grim.
There was a knock at the door disturbing their train of thought. Yuu goes to open the door and find Azul with a bag in his hand. “No contract…just…wanna help you get settled. These have extra clothes, uniform…pajamas…I also put some body wash and a toothbrush with toothpaste. I um…look I not look it but I’m a pretty gentleman type.” Azul says giving yuu the bag.
“Thank you Azul…I appreciate this…I swear I’m going to get that photo for you! Goodnight!” Yuu says with a smile then closes the door.
“Yeah…and then you’ll be mine…”
Things were not going as planned, Jade and Floyd kept using Yuu’s naivety to their advantage. So Jack had to make a plan. One that involves Leona and ruggie.
“What?! What do you mean you got Leona and Ruggie to help?! We had this under control Jack!” Yuu says as she crosses her arms. “No we didn’t yuu! The twins kept distracting you and taking advantage of you! Don’t you see?! They act like your friends, but they’re not! There friend is Azul and he’s definitely not your friend!” Jack scolds them and shakes his head. “Look. We made a plan…we’re gonna distract the twins, Ace and deuce are coming with us. Ruggie and Leona are going to sneak inside Azul’s office and Leona will use his unique magic to turn the contracts to sand.” Jack explains but yuu shakes their head.
“That’s literally azul’s life’s work!” Yuu says as Leona scoffs. Of course they were having a meeting in his room, where else would they be. “You’re so stupid herbivore. Azul has been playing you for a fool. This whole nice act? Nah, it’s just to make sure he wins. He prays on suckers like you. Stuipd, little, with no brain in that head of yours.” Leona says as he rolls his eyes. “But I…no you’re wrong Leona!” Yuu says standing up.
“Nah Leona is right yuu…look at me and Ace, we’re exhausted. Not to mention we’re in huge trouble with housewaren rosehearts…if you go through with this plan, it’s going to help a lot of guys. Remember it wasnt just me, Ace and grim that made this contact…” deuce says gently speaking to yuu to help them understand. “Friends don’t hurt friends.” Deuce tells them.
“We’re going to the coral sea…we’ll see you there if you’re in.” Ace says as the group moves to get the plan going. All yuu could do was stand there, staring at nothing. Was it really all a lie?
Azul had been visiting their room late at night just to talk, he would sometimes bring the twins too. The four of them, and yuu would talk about how much they wished they could be part of their world and see more of their home.
Which unfortunately fed into Azul’s obsession. Azul was getting worse by the day, making more deals. But today was taking the cake, the twins got too distracted while Jack went to grab the photo. Azul was dealing with ruggie and Leona which made him finally snap.
At the Octavinelle dorm Azul was having a mental breakdown due to Leona sanding and destroying all his contracts.
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! NO NO! I CANT GO BACK I WONT GO BACK YOU CANT MAKE ME!” Azul screams as he cries and falls to the ground. The twins and the the first years get to the dorm seeing what had happened. “Oh shit…how the hell…” Floyd says shocked that Azul was being a cry baby and seeing the contracts were now a pile of sand. “Oh dear…this isn’t good…” Jade says. “That means…since the prefect’s contact was destroyed..” Jade starts.
“It didn’t matter who got the photo.” Floyd finishes his brother’s sentence.
“FUCK!” Azul screams, just then yuu jumped through into Octavinelle from the mirror. “What the hell is forming around Azul?!” Floyd says seeing ink around his friend. Sure ink was normal for Azul since he’s an octopus, but Azul isn’t in his merform….hes in his human form.
“It’s blot…damnit…jack was right I never should have gotten involved..” Yuu says the last part to themselves. “Listen. We have to keep Azul from overbloting. Do everything you can to stop him!” Yuu says to the boys around them.
“Yuu…please….wont you help my…poor unfortunate soul…?” Azul says as he started to laugh manically. Jade grabs Yuu and pulls them out the way. “Damnit…are you alright?” Jade asks yuu, they nod and before they knew it Azul had overbloted.
Everyone gasped and looked in horror, a giant blot phantom was behind Azul it reached out an ink tentacle and grabbed yuu by the throat pulling them close to Azul.
“AZUL NO YOU’LL KILL THEM!”
“LET GO OF MY HENCHHUMAN!”
Yuu hears grim and saw blue flames directed at Azul. Azul grunts as the phantom drops yuu, they fall to the ground coughing for air. “Yuu! Come on we’ll get you out of here and find a teacher!” Deuce says as Yuu nods before getting pulled back by their ankle. They scream as they were faced with Azul again.
“I offered you friendship…my heart…all three…and yet…you chose a dog and card soldiers over me…we could had it all…first this pathetic school…then THE ENTIRE SEA!” Azul says keeping yuu close to him. “Oh well…doesnt matter you’ll be mine either way!” He says laughing manically again.
“Ruggie! Jack! By my side! Eels distract your boss! Ace and deuce stay behind ruggie and Jack, be their back up. And grim? On me. Whatever you do, DONT HIT YUU!” Leona roars orders to his underclassmen.
“Stupid herbivore…making me do all this work!” Leona says blasting magic at Azul making sure not to hit yuu. Azul had one of his tentacles wrapped around yuu, keeping them close and quiet. They struggled and tried to get out of his grip.
It was a long and hard battle, the final blow being by Leona himself, the moment Azul fell he let go of yuu causing them to fall, luckily Leona was there to catch them.
“L-Leona..?” Yuu says waking up back in ramshackle dorm. “About damn time, everyone has their tails between their legs, professor crewel says you’ll be okay, just a few bumps and bruises.” He says helping them sit up. “Thanks…how are the twins and Azul?” Yuu asked him.
“They’ll live, Azul recovered too. Those three had a huge talk…speaking about those three…do me a favor. Stay away from them, at least for now.” Leona says looking at yuu with look. Yuu nods with a pained smile, it hurt to move their neck due to being choked.
“Yeah…I’ll try.” Yuu says as Leona shakes his head. “Don’t try, do it.” Leona says as he leaves the room letting four first years to run into the room to check on yuu. Each of them scolded them, then later hugged them happy they were okay.
It had been at least two weeks since azul’s overblot. He apologized to everyone he harmed, gave a discount at the monstro lounge, it was like 5% off, but effort was made. The twins would often interact with yuu on their own, slowly bringing them back to Azul. Until one day Azul caught them in the hall.
“Yuu…I wish to apologize…for everything, here’s an ointment for the scaring…and this paper is the instructions for it..” azul says giving Yuu a small bag with a blush on his face. “Aww..this is sweet Azul thank you..” Yuu takes the bag and nods. “Y-yeah…and by any chance, if you’re free can you come by Octavinelle..? There’s something I wish to tell you.” Azul says as he fixes hed glasses.
Later during the evening yuu went to Octavinelle dorm to meet up with Azul. He was at the dorm’s pool, the bottom of his pants rolled up to his knees while his feet were in the pool. Yuu walks over to him and sits by him though not dipping their feet in the pool. “What’d you want to talk about?” Yuu asked him.
“I hate that I hurt you…I hate that I have all these feelings for you….i hate that I can’t control my emotions with you..” azul says not looking at Yuu yet. “Feelings? Azul I don’t understand…” Yuu says as they look at him. “I…like you….a lot…and if…you return my affections…I’d like you to accept…” azul shows them a necklace, it had a small conch charm. “This necklace…I…I enchanted it…so if you wanted to be in the ocean it’ll turn your legs into a mermaid tail…” Azul explains to them holding his breath for their answer.
“Azul…that’s…sweet really and you’re a sweet guy but…I don’t see you like that, I only see you as a friend…” Yuu says as they looked at the necklace then at him. His eyes were broken, full of hurt and when he blinked, they were cold.
“I thought so..” azul says taking off his glasses then jumping into the pool. Yuu watched him confused when suddenly tentacles come out of the water and pull Yuu in.
And there he was, Azul in his octo-mer form. He was huge. Yuu wanted to scream, but knew they’ll run out of air if they do. They struggle as Azul pulls them closer to him. “That’s it…get weaker..it’ll make opening your mouth easier…” Azul says to Yuu they thrash around more as he watched them get weaker under water. Azul smiles and gathers what seems to be his spit in his mouth.
But it wasn’t his spit, it was his venom. “Fun fact about octopuses…we paralyze our mates.” He says to yuu before forcing his lips onto theirs. He forcibly opened their mouth to let his tongue in and his venom. As the venom went through Yuu’s body Azul brings them up as he feels their body starting to go limp. “Don’t go limp yet, I need you to sign something for me.” Azul says making a contract appear, taking Yuu’s hand and signing their name on it. “Only way out of being mine is screaming for help, but if only you have your voice.” Azul says putting the necklace on yuu.
A bright yellow glow came the necklace, yuu tried to scream, but the glow felt like it reached inside their throat and pulled out their voice, putting it inside azul’s matching necklace. “You’re gonna be mine…forever.”
Author’s note: was this one easier to write? Yeah. Was it because Azul is one of my favorite characters? Also yeah, but this was super fun to write! I also wanna say thank you guys for reading this series and all the likes it’s been getting! Jamil is next week and my requests are still open!
