Imagine elias Seeing everything...all pain in the universe...the stars dying...the world shifting into its newborn hell...and he knows how much pain Peter is full of...he looks for him, maybe just to rub it in his face...

And there's...nothing.

Just an empty space and silence.

No, that cant be right...peter is a Constant in his mind, foolish as that is.

Peter is mortal. Ephemeral. Disposable, like his father and his grandfather and all before him. You are Forever. He's not like you.

he ignores this.

Maybe he's hiding in the Lonely. Yes. As per usual that fucking bastard.

But...shouldn't he see the fears and their avatars and domains all the more sharply?

His mind is in fragments. So many things begging for his attention. Hes starting to lose himself in that violent, gentle bliss...

He searches and searches but Peter is nowhere, and jonah begins to exist less and less....and care less and less...

Then one day, he Sees something.

Theres doubt in the mind of the Archivist his archivist.

There's a flash of Peter, a faint echo in his mind, being translated through a thousand different lenses, each image more decayed than the last. Focusing is so very difficult and so very much, but he takes the thread in his hand and follows it

he sees fog and tide and The Archivist clutching his lover, the cold whisper of the Lonely on him...

And he Sees Peter, for a moment. Sees him speak, Sees him writhe.

And then...

Nothing.

The concept of Peter Lukas ends in the mind of another.

Its a disappointment in a way. He almost doesn't care.

Its been a few years but I'm still thinking about how a lot of people were basically bragging that they didn't find tma that scary. I know thats subjective and I know they could have meant that in any number of ways but it feels really weird that so many people treated a psychological horror series like it was a haunted house they had to brave or something.

#'There's a coffin in my house that's trying to make me open in and all I can do is live around it' is less effective horror #if you zero in on 'maybe a guy will force you to babysit a magic coffin one day' as the scary part of the story is all I'm saying.#A lot of the scenarios are ridiculous if you boil then down to the barest elements. That's not tma's strength.#The thing tma is trying to do is make you feel a little sick. And yes this is subjective too. But it's generally really good at this.#it speaks #tma #I just get this feeling often like tma had this massive fandom and alot of people just. Did not engage with it as a work and esp as horror #Like Basically at all.#This happens a lot in fandom tbf but it was so bad in late/heyday tma fandom on tumblr.#If tma didn't scare or upset you it's fine but the scale at which people were bragging about this and esp saying #this was their ONLY horror fandom made me go. art history lesson! the reference is a painting titled A Huguenot, on St. Bartholomew's Day by John Everett Millais. the historical context is what made me think about jmart: he’s a protestant and she’s a catholic, and back then it was common for catholics to signify their faith by tying a white cloth around their arm, which is what she’s trying to get him to do as he pulls it away while also holding her (bc they’re in love). st. Bartholomew’s day was a day where many protestants were murdered and many escaped harm by wearing the white armband and pretending to be catholic. it made me think of jmart bc of the events of mag 200, those who’ve listened that far will know💀 i won’t spoil🤭
