It deeply saddens me how little people these days value loyalty. Instant gratification over everything. Constantly chasing “something better.” Social media makes it so easy to get caught up in. It takes the strong minded and wiser of us to be able to see past that. To the end game, the future, and the bigger picture.

What does loyalty even mean now? In terms of social media? What is socially acceptable? Like my previous post, I think it differs for each person, couple and relationship. But then you have the utterly horrible, immature, toxic dirtbags (or bag-ettes), who push every boundary, refuse to just do what’s respectful. Instead, they live by their own rules and wait to be reprimanded. They make you question your own boundaries. Make you question yourself. These humans are truly horrible people. I’m not sure if society has given them a name quite yet. I think they’re rare (and not in the good way). You don’t come across this level of toxicity very often. This is the first time in 29 years I’ve come across it and I’ve been in physically abusive relationships. But this type of person truly gets their own spot in hell. And not the good hell that us sinners like to joke about meeting in. The hell reserved for the truly awful. The hell reserved for child and animal abusers.

Is it so much to ask have relationships like they did in the older days? Excluding the hard gender roles and woman being treated like servants. I’m talking the marriages that make it through everything because divorce isn’t an option. The flowers and romantic gestures. The proposal on the third dad because you just know and are crazy about each other (this happened to my grandma and her and my grandma were married happily their entire lives). The days where social media and instant gratification were unheard of. Us old souls are stuck horribly in the wrong generation and are constantly taking shit. What has happened to the world and love?

What I’m Conflicted About: sexy fitness photos being posted while in a relationship

Where is the line drawn about fitness progress photos when it comes to our significant other? What is inappropriate or disrespectful to our partner? Are there conditions? For example, is it okay to post photos that are just only covering our private parts if it’s known that you’re in a relationship? A question that has long been on my mind and I’ve struggled to find the answer to with today’s social norms and what seems to be our obsession with social media. At what point are we being controlling or prudish? I suppose it all depends on your security and stability within your relationship as well as mutual respect. It’s something that I imagine should be talked about so that both partners are comfortable. But then again, does it even need to be talked about if both partners are comfortable? Anyone with insight to this burning question and confusion of mine who could fill me in would receive a very large, very bright, maybe even multiple satisfying gold stars. HELP! 🤯

What I’m Watching: Gilmore Girls

This particular Latin phrase is most commonly looked up due to it’s role in Season 5 of Gilmore Girls. Those of you who haven’t seen this 2000s show, I HIGHLY recommend. It’s much more hilarious than you could guess and is such a feel good show. 

Gilmore Girls has a special place in my heart. One of my babysitters I had growing up showed this to me and I’ve been hooked ever since (so nearly 20 years). It never fails to cheer me up when I’m in a slump or feeling down. I recommend it to everyone and anyone and if this happens to come up as a topic after I’ve been drinking then watch out because there’s no stopping me. I have so much appreciation for this show it’s almost a little nutty. I think it’s part of what gave me my ambition as a kid, or at least a portion of it. Those Gilmore’s are just so damn witty and there’s so much banter between all the characters it’s great.

That being said, I’m going to go back to my binge watching now.

Pilot

After years of contemplating starting a blog and the thought repeatedly entering my mind, I thought it was time to finally make it a reality. My life is far less than ordinary.. though a litter quieter these days, I’m sure I’ll be able to tell a story or share a recommendation to spark your attention.

What I’m Reading: Rich As F*ck by Amanda Frances

It’s been quite some time since I picked up a book that had be this enticed by it’s contents, but this folks is it. Not only am I learning the fundamental way to earn and save more, but also how to raise my vibration and manifestation hacks. All of which increase my mood and leave me feeling far more optimistic and positive than I was when I picked up the book in the first place. I highly recommend this book to anyone who 1) wans to increase your cash flow (obviously) and 2) is interested and drawn to such things as increasing your vibration and manifesting. Manifesting is no joke and Amanda Frances is a prime example of that. The book includes homework for what to do when you’ve finished a chapter, which include journaling about your innermost desires (as well as fears) around money and your life, while getting you to embody the feelings as if you were to already have money, and of course, getting rid of the lower vibrational feelings around money, your life, and getting what you want. I haven’t finished this yet but I will be sure to report back when I do. I finished over half the book in a week (takes longer when you have to do homework) and each day after, have felt significantly better about where I am and my life. I hope you give it a shot and let know what you think!
