You can honor your parents
And break their patterns.
You can love your culture
And question its traditions.
You can respect your elders
And challenge their beliefs.
Gratitude and growth
Aren't mutually exclusive.

We meet only those who already exist
Within our own subconscious."

Earlier today, I read a quote that said
Destroy yourself to know yourself,
And build yourself to surprise yourself.
The important thing is not to be
But to become.
Perhaps it's better to suffer
And know the truth,
Than to be happy
In a delusion.
But then,
Won't you rather
keep your illusions,
Aren't they as often
kinder to you
Than the truth.
So the question is,
Do you want the truth,
Or do you want the illusion.
Real eyes
Realize real lies.
Wise minds
Recognize disguised signs.
Pure hearts
Prioritize true ties.
False smiles
Often hide dark sides.
Time flies,
Exposing every disguise.
And the deepest scars,
Come from trusted lies.
Imagine reading a book.
The book has no way
to turn back the pages,
How carefully would you read it.
That's life,
Every moment passes once,
Every word leaves a mark,
So choose what matters to you,
Before it all becomes memories.
Remember this, you cannot change the people around you, but you can change the people you're around.
Everything happens for a reason.
The people who come in,
And the one's who leave.
None of it is random,
Every moment carries a lesson,
And every lesson is guiding you
Closer to your purpose.
So when life feels heavy,
Pause,
Breathe,
And remember,
There is probably meaning
In this too.
Do not be a beggar of love,
Instead be a giver of love.
A beautiful person
is'nt always good,
But a good person
is always beautiful.
Be the kind of soul
That leaves warmth
in every heart it touches.
MAN IS A TAME & CIVILIZED ANIMAL.
NEVER THE LESS,
HE REQUIRES PROPER INSTRUCTION
AND A FORTUNATE NATURE,
AND THEN OF ALL ANIMALS
HE BECOMES THE MOST DIVINE
AND MOST CIVILIZED.
BUT IF HE BE INSUFFICIENTLY
OR ILL-EDUCATED,
HE IS THE MOST SAVAGE
OF ALL EARTHLY CREATURES.

I am trying not to make a funeral
Out of every bad day.
So coffee,
Clean socks,
And an answered prayer,
That's all it takes.
Whatever our souls are made of,
Hers and mine are the same.
I loved her like a novel,
slow, heavy, and unfinished.
But she loved me like a letter,
brief, honest, and final.
The past exists to guide
and to warn you,
Not to trap you.
Learn from it,
But do not live there.
Growth requires moving forward,
Not anchoring in what is over.
Some doors were closed
To teach you the road ahead,
So not every memory
Deserves a home inside you.
I am full of words.
Words that would ruin everything,
if spoken out loud.
She no longer tries to be good.
That word alone tastes of poison,
pretty lies told to keep lambs docile
just before the slaughter.
Worthiness is a virtue,
or so they say,
A shield, they promised.
Well,
They lied.
I am still here,
tormented by the very need
of her ever fading presence.
