"I’m not honestly sure how their relationship works. Neither one looks to be unhappy though. I also know that the version of Jonathan that I’m speaking of is a human. Not sure if he has a Stand or not, but still, definitely not a vampire."

"Ah, I think I understand. It seems that the roles were reversed where you came from. To what extent I do not know. Most of the Jonathan’s that I’ve met are gentlemanly. Of course I don’t know if that’s a facade or not, but I’m usually a rather decent judge of character."

"I think that perhaps some versions of Jonathan would actually like to hear from you. They might be able to sympathize. They may even consider you a brother, a genuine brother."

[ ☽ ] — “That's odd. I'd expect him to be a vampire at that point. And he should have a Stand too... I wonder if he just hasn't had time to get his yet."

Dio blinked. "To consider me a brother, to sympathise...it would be nice, but what good would it do at this point? Our pasts have happened already. It would change nothing. But... it would be nice to have someone who genuinely cared about me..."

"Truth be told, I’ve only met one other version of myself. He was much the same as I, but that didn’t come as a surprise."

"As for you though, I know that there are many versions. Some more eccentric than others. In most you have battled the Joestars, I am not sure under what context. However, there are versions that are on speaking terms with their former rivals. I know of at least one pair of Dio and Jonathan that are lovers, if I’m not mistaken."

"As for why you feel the way you do, I cannot say. Perhaps there is something … ugly … something that you would rather not be reminded of. I shouldn’t speculate though, as I am not sure of your circumstances, or your story."

[ ☽ ] — “Me? With-- Jonathan?! He'd..." He'd tried multiple times to kill his father, but... if he and his Jonathan were to enter such a relationship, he'd be emotionally and physically abused. Dio hoped his version of himself wasn't doing that to Jonathan. "He'd rip me apart, but... make me heal again, and..."

"My other selves... they remind me of Jonathan." He stared down at his feet. "It's frightening, to be honest."

"Perhaps the best way that I can describe it is to use myself as an example as well. Since coming here I’ve learned that there are a multitude of realities. This was actually something I knew before, however…."

"In most realities, there are differences, subtle ones. Perhaps one side wins a battle that they lose somewhere else. Perhaps someone lives where they otherwise died. In the scope of things though it’s a drop in the bucket, if we’re being honest."

"Sometimes though there are radical changes. My history, for example, is incredibly different from that of most others. There, versions of yourself and Jonathan, or Johnny as he’s known, are actually horse racers."

"I can only assume that perhaps you come from a universe where events have taken such a turn. Thus, you are a rarity among yourselves, so to speak."

[ ☽ ] — “Horse racers? That would be a much easier life than this..." Dio mused quietly. "I understand, however. Thank you so much for your answer." They both were from universes with radical changes. The Gods rolled their dice, and they landed.

"Tell me, do you feel ire for some of these alternate selves?" Perhaps he wasn't alone in this way, either. "It's odd... whenever I run into one of my selves, I feel... angry."
