This whole scene was extremely heartbreaking. Like when he looks upon his reflection for the last time, not knowing what will happen when he comes out on the other side. And his friends and family are desperately trying to call him, because they can sense that something is wrong. Then they finally get there and try to break down the bathroom door to get to him. And don’t even get me started on the organ playing in the background, the instrument most associated with death and funerals. A part of Jim is basically going to die, and he’s scared to death. But he does it anyway because he’s the self-sacrificial sweetheart that we all love. As long as his loved ones are safe, he will do anything. Even die.
