OB just cancelled my appointment for 20 minutes from now as I was pulling in- luckily I was driving past an open staff parking spot- but I already made the switch so I would be the late nurse 😭 so now I’m just at work for 10 hours

I’m in gestational diabetes limbo.

I had an elevated reading on my 1-hr glucose test at 26 weeks.

I passed my 3-he glucose test, with 1 of the 4 readings elevated 4 points above target and the rest normal, at 27 weeks. Was told I do not have gestational diabetes.

At 30 weeks got told baby had accelerated growth and I probably had undiagnosed gestational diabetes, so started checking blood sugars. If baby continued to have accelerated growth may have to be induced at 37 weeks.

At 31 weeks I got told the week of checking sugars was inconclusive as I had weird readings, so got told to do another week.

At 31 weeks I also discovered that diamox fucks with blood sugar and was taken off of it.

At 32 weeks I submitted a week of perfect blood sugars except the reading from during my baby shower.

This morning I was called and told I likely had gestational diabetes and to limit carbs to 15g at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then I got called to schedule an ultrasound no one told me about. Then I got called to be told I likely did not have gestational diabetes. And asked if I wanted to be treated like I had GD diabetes anyway, change my diet, and keep checking sugars OR if I wanted to do another week (so, 3 weeks) of eating normal and checking sugars.

And that they do not induce at 37 weeks for gestational diabetes or large babies.

I’m supposed to message them tonight or tomorrow and tell them what the plan is. I cried and asked how I was supposed to decide if you’re giving me such conflicting info????

I’m at the point where a stranger asked me if I was pregnant and I said “Yeah how did you know?”.

She was like… I can literally see the baby kicking through your shirt girl wtf.

Took me over an hour to get to work today from PT. The road directly from PT to work was closed due to a downed tree causing a fire. As I was waiting at the intersection to take the backup way there was an accident a mile up and they closed the other main road. I was stuck on the mountain backroads with only one way to go and hella traffic.

TIL that passing your glucose test does not mean that you don’t have gestational diabetes, so definitely glad I had to do it twice only to still have to start stabbing myself an additional 4 times a day.

Being 75 degrees out and 85% humidity before 8am while on diuretics and almost 30 weeks pregnant is sending me .

Had two scripts written the same day. One has been ready for 10 days, I’ve been waiting for the other one to pick them up at the same time and to try to get them on the same schedule as other prescriptions. They didn’t fill it. Had to go first to pick up and then to “consultation” because it was on hold. Waited in a second line and they didn’t even ask me questions or anything, just said it would be ready in 10.

Like why.

Can any of my OB friends unofficially weigh in on my 3 hr glucose results??

Fasting: 79

1 hr: 175

2 hr: 158

3 hr: 134

I think I passed but the 2 hr was above by 3 points so I’m not 100% sure…

They forgot to actually put the order into epic so I’ve been sitting in the lab for 35 minutes waiting for the on call resident to call the lab back to actually order it. I’m so thirsty I could cry.

I took a vacation day so I could do an early morning PVT session and then do acupuncture in the afternoon and it has now turned into near non-stop Things all day and I am so sad that it probably won’t involve a longass nap.
