The Wall and the Stone Temple.
The Stone Temple is a sight to behold, but one of many when it comes to The Wall. Believed to have started as a natural vertical wall of granite The Wall was flattened and carved by nearby inhabitants over a millennia, enhancing its man-made appearance and leading to mythologies involving giants, aliens, and gods. Small caves, enclosures, petroglyphs and statues were carved for various purposes throughout its existence with dwellings beginning about 2000 years ago and the larger complexes, like The Stone Temple, appearing in the last 1500 years or so, the most recent of which was completed just two centuries prior. Carved straight from the natural granite, sites like the Stone Temple have grown into monumental attractions in their own right, dwarfing more ancient creations and causing controversy as they loom over and intrude upon prehistoric installations still in use while attracting throngs of tourists who leave trash and damage in their wake.
While some sites still serve their religious and social purposes, many have become tourist attractions meant to drive money to The Wall region, again causing distrust and displeasure amongst those claiming to be original descendants.
