In a New Old-Fashioned Way by drunkkenobi Ryan crowds him against the car door, his arms bracketing him in. “Take me home, Shane.” This isn’t the first time one of them’s asked. Last time it was Shane, half-drunk in Nottingham, leaning against Ryan’s hotel door. Ryan kindly rebuffed him, citing the shoot the next day. One of them always declines. That’s the move, a dance repeated a half-dozen times over the years. There’s no need to talk about it, they know what the right move is. They’re always on the same wavelength. Shane goes to push Ryan away, but he stops when he sees Ryan’s eyes, dark and glittering as coal. Trust me. Okay.
