She paused in her gathering to snort, “My mother didn’t give me a chance to do much besides cooking and baking.” Placing the flour down on the counter with a thump she grinned, “She’s old school like that.”Â

“I woke up with the biggest craving for homemade chocolate chip cookies… and I can’t bake to save my life. Please tell me you’ll make some with me?”
Marlene glanced up from the tv show she’d barely been paying attention to. “Your wish is my command, Marebear!” She hopped right up and promptly started grabbing for ingredients.

Remus had thought that the bonfire would have been a good distraction from what had happened earlier in the day. But he had been here nearly an hour, unable to find any of his mates. On top of it, he swore that every time he turned around, he saw Greyback standing there. Add in the amount of people, getting bumped in to, and for him there was just an uneasiness about the entire situation. It had been a while since it happened but Remus could feel his heart begin to pound and beat much too fast in his chest. Each breath almost felt like it was a struggle and he knew that he had to get out of here, had to get away from everyone. And fast. He moved through the crowds of people as fast as he could with his crutch. His breath catching in his chest every time he thought he saw Greyback out of the corner of his eye. His heart hammered in time with the music and Remus had to remind himself to breathe. That he would be away from all of this as soon as he found an exit from the commotion. So plagued by his thoughts and the anxiety he could feel bubbling in his chest, Remus ran right into someone. His body instantly jerking away from them, almost throwing himself off balance in his haste.
Marly had been feeling a little lost the past few days. The party was a hit, but that didn’t mean much for Marly’s mental well being. Still, she refused to let that stop her. Which was partly why she’d decided to vlog her day from start to finish. Obviously, she made it simple with a Get Ready with Me portion of the video, walked around London, and ended up at the bonfire.Â
It was a tradition that she cherished and she had a lot she wanted to let go of lately. While she wished her friends were around to help her hold the camera, Marlene did her best keeping things steady while attempting to navigate through the growing crowd.Â
Moving along the edge, Marly had been focused too much on the shot she was taking, she missed Remus walking by. “Que?” She was startled by the collision, but immediately grabbed for him as she saw him falter with balance. “Remmy! You alright, love?”Â

Shrugging, Dorcas shoved her face a little more firmly into the pillow for a minute before she finally relented and rolled over, staring at the ceiling and letting out a sigh. “I had one earlier, but that was it. It was good, you did a great job.” She managed to shoot Marlene a smile before it faltered again. “As for the stupid thing? Boys. In general, but also in specific.”
“In general? Doe, you’re worth far more than what any boy could deserve. So there’s a boy in specific?” Marly shuffled into a seated position to properly address her friend. “Give me the dets! What’s been going on?”Â

“Sounds like I missed one hell of a party last night.”
“Chief, when I say it was mental, I mean it in the very best way.”

“Never. But considering I could only see a lump and not actually your face, I thought a rando had wandered into my room.” With a sigh, Dorcas threw herself onto the bed, burying her face into the pillow for a sec. “Marzipan, I feel really dumb, and I haven’t even been drinking.”
Marly shifted to make room for her friend, pulling the blanket away from her face. “Why’s that Doe-A-Deer?” She leaned up against her arm to get a better view. “Not even one jello shot? They’re my pride and joy for the night.”Â

You’re very correct on that, my love. However! I have not danced with you yet. One dance please? Then you can be off to mope for the rest of the evening. By the way have you tried my snacks.
“I’m gonna give you exactly three seconds to explain why you’re laying in my bed. After that, well… We’ll see what happens.”
“I’m sorry? Since when have you been against me coming for tipsy cuddles?”

“Well, it isn’t the worst party I’ve ever been to, but at the same time, it is also my flat, so it wasn’t like I had much of a choice in coming.” Dorcas offered a bit of a grin before nudging Marlene with her shoulder. “I’m joking. You throw a killer party, Marzipan.”
Marly’s frown turned into a grin, “That’s my girl. Here have another rainbow jello shot. You’ve earned it. Have you tried James’ fried snacks in the other flat?”Â

I mean yeah, but I think I’m all partied out now. Was considering making my way up to my loving and adoring bed.
Remmy no! You can’t leave me here when there’s dancing to be had!Â

Tell you I’m enjoying being stuck on bartending duty at my own party? Not bloody likely.
Siri, this was what we signed up for when we started this plan. I don’t trust the others with this job. Besides in a little, no one will notice if we walk off with a couple tips of our own in the form of bottles.Â
