automated edging by heart rate: version 2
a couple weeks back i posted about fooling around with an XToys integration for automated edging/denial. a lot of folks were curious/excited; if you want a quick recap, i'm trying to replicate the functionality of the NoGasm/Edge-o-Matic from MausTec without the high price point. $600. whew baby.
i'm happy to report that version 2 is a go and i'm in a lot of trouble..
for version 1 i was using a Lush. this doesn't really work well for my body; i struggle to hit a hard edge until like 2/3 of the way through its battery life. this time i had a MagicMotion Umi going, and it uh. well. it worked much better.
a bluetooth heart rate monitor - i scooped one up off Amazon for like 20 bucks. so long as it's not app-bound/is discoverable by any BT app, it'll be fine.
xtoys on an Android phone running this exact layout. (it's the same as the old one, but connected to the Umi instead of a Lush.)
i used the same layout and settings for the HR monitor just to keep that variable unchanged. it was...quite effective.
last time i said the goal was hard edges every time the monitor stopped. this goal was...certainly achieved. i think out of about 15-20 pauses, over 80% were hard edges...tho don't trust puppy to do math right now.
my bedroom - empty save for me, btw - was full of a constant stream of "pleasepleaseplease nononono" for about 30 minutes.
at a certain point, i think my heart rate got + stayed high. at this point, the toy ended up on for long enough that i came a couple times; i left the program running bc i was curious if it would at least stop early enough to ruin any orgasm. sadly this was not the case.
stats. lmao i remain a nerd. denial turns me into a dumb slut tho so i'm gonna have to build in some independent stat-keeping that doesn't rely on me paying attention.
positioning. i had my hips in the air humping. this is fun but i do think that messed with the very end - i had better clit contact in one position, which is what i think overrode the biometrics in the end. next test i'm gonna pick a position and stick with it and see how long it edges me.
depending on that, i may fiddle with the HR intervals. i think the trick will be finding a sweet spot with monitoring that accounts for overall heart rate rise the more i'm edged.
automated clicker training still on the bucket list.
hey. heres an idea . shocks every time you whine. for me it's a very pouty "nooooo nononono." shocks repeat and grow in intensity until you say "thank you" instead. anyone? hello ?? is this anything?
there is just so much integration possible with xtoys. don't look at me i'm gonna be busy for the next two years. can i put this on my resume do you think?
troubleshooting + scaling
yes, my spouse does make fun of me for using tech industry terms on a sex toy setup.
will HR monitoring work consistently? i think like anything else it depends on the body of the bottom. i start breathing really short and fast when i get close, and the squirming and whining certainly does the trick to raise the HR reliably. if you have a particularly bratty or stoic bottom at your disposal, though, it may not work as well. motion sensing could work - if you can find a "tell" that the person in question can't hide. XToys can connect to monitors that detect facial expression, environmental sounds, motion, tilt, all sorts of things.
just check out the list of public scripts sometime.
more about sensors: that being said, Maustec's stuff uses a pressure sensor in an inflatable buttplug. anal contraction is pretty reliably an indicator of impending orgasm. so that may be the most reliable input for the largest group of people...then again, i'm a big believer in the idea that perfection is the enemy of good (and, crucially, fun). find something that lets you have fun with your sub instead of going for the flashy thing promising you perfection every time; save that for the career doms with con performances lmao.
HoneyPlay does, however, have pressure sensing toys. might experiment with that later. just to say i did :)
toy compatibility: with my equipment, there's a large number of toys available to me. i think i'm probably more likely to find something that suits my anatomy + stimulation preferences than someone with a penis. that's something i'd be interested in hearing from others on (in fact i want to hear from y'all if you test anything based on this, point blank), but that's a gap in my knowledge that i can't handle alone. XToys does have a pretty good base of auto-strokers or vibrating sleeves, and if you're into prostate stimulation there's a lot of those compatible too. but i just don't know lol.
@hunted-seraphim asked about platform compatibility: XToys can run on iPhone in a more limited sense IIRC, can run freely on Android, and - short of that - works on any Chrome browser. (it seems to work okay on Firefox sometimes, but i have mainlined with my phone so can't say for sure.) the 1 limiter i can think of rn is that at least (some?) Lovense toys require an additional component in order to connect to PC. but Chrome running on a phone of your choice should be fine.
thank y'all for coming on this adventure with me. if you try anything like this i'd love to hear about your setup/how it works out! <33
