NEW DELHI – Former BJP Block President Among Five Booked for Assaulting Muslim Man in Uttarakhand

NEW DELHI: Former Block President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Madan Joshi, has been booked along with four others for allegedly assaulting a Muslim man transporting buffalo meat in Ramnagar, Nainital district, Uttarakhand. The FIR, registered at the Kotwali police station, names Joshi, Raju Rawat, Sagar Manral, Pankaj, and Karan, in addition to 20–30 unidentified individuals, under charges of attempt to murder and unlawful assembly.

The complaint, filed by Noor Jahan, wife of the victim Nasir, alleges that the mob attacked her husband on Thursday evening while he was legally transporting buffalo meat from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, to Ramnagar. Despite Nasir presenting a valid permit, the mob accused him of carrying beef and violently intercepted his pick-up van.

Viral videos of the incident show the mob confronting police officials, who confirmed that the vehicle contained buffalo meat, not beef. A police officer is also heard warning the attackers not to take the law into their own hands. According to the FIR, police intervention prevented what could have been a lynching.

Nasir’s brother, Wahid Hussain, maintained that all required documents, including GST bills, were in place and demanded justice, asserting that the attackers intended to kill Nasir and burn the van. “We want strict punishment for Madan Joshi and his accomplices so that such hatred does not continue,” he said.

Meanwhile, Joshi defended his actions, telling local media that the transportation of meat was “illegal.” Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.

Yogi Adityanath Links Halal Certification to Terrorism, Sparks Controversy

NEW DELHI – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stirred nationwide debate after linking Halal certification of products by Muslim groups to terrorism, religious conversion, and “Love Jihad.” Speaking at the centenary program of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Gorakhpur on Tuesday, Adityanath claimed that money earned from Halal-certified products is funneled into unlawful activities.

Adityanath alleged a larger conspiracy behind the Halal certification system. “When we took action, Rs 25,000 crore was earned through Halal certification within the country, and no Indian government or state agency recognized it. The Chief Minister further urged people not to spend on Halal-certified products, claiming that funds from such sales are used against the nation.

Kalaburagi High Court Directs RSS to Reapply for Route March Permission
