Here's a chem related question: Many fast foods such as French fries are cooked in oils rather than in water. Why is this done and how could frequent consumption of these foods be a health concern? Your help is much appreciated! :)

I'm going to page my chemistry helpers for this, because all that I can think of is that the hydrophobic properties of oil will keep the inside of the foods moist, since the water cannot escape...

I'm so confused about enthalpy calculations, ah! 0.5N2+1.5H2 ->NH3 (g) enthalpy change=-46kJ,

0.5H2(g) ->H(g) enthalpy change=+218kJ and

0.5N2(g)->N(g) enthalpy change=+473 kJ. What is the mean energy required to break the N-H bond in kJmol-1?

Hello! I've changed from normal math to a harder math (grade 10) and since I haven't covered this work in class could you help me with a step to step progress? Factorise by first taking out the common factor: 6x² + 38x+ 40

First things first you want to pull out the 2 as it's a factor that all the numbers share, which leaves you with 2(3x² + 19x + 20).Next you want to look at the factors of 20, keeping in mind that when you check this problem they will need to multiply/add to numbers that will give us 19x.Factors of 20:2   104   5For ease of explanation, we are going to go straight to the pair you want to use, which is 4 and 5. So now we can write it as 2(3x+4)(x+5).To check your work, you can use FOIL (First, Outside, Inside, Last).First: 3x * x = 3x²Outside: 3x * 5 = 15xInside: 4 * x = 4xLast: 4 * 5 = 20We add these all together: 2(3x² + 15x + 4x + 20), which gives us 2(3x² + 19x + 20). The equation of a perimeter of a rectangle is P=2L+2W. We know that the length (L) is equal to the width plus 4 m, or L=W+4. Hello! so im having trouble on my Algebra test review. the question says "write the equation of the line with the following conditions, parallel to 2x+y=12, passes through (0,-2) in slope intercept form." i have no idea how to do this and ive tried looking online to see if i could find any help with this but have failed to do so. then i came across this blog so i hope you can help me c:

So the first thing that you want to do is rewrite 2x+y=12 in the slope intercept form, so it's easier to work with. That would be y=12-2x, or y=-2x+12.We know that your line needs to be parallel to that one, so the first thing I would do if I were you is figure out the x and y points from that equation. x     y-2    16-1    14 0    12 1    10 2    8So at this point we know that the equation you need to write needs two things: one, it needs to pass through (0, -2), and two, it needs to have a slope of -2. So at the very least, we know that part of the equation will be y=-2x. But we now need the y-intercept. We can find this by plugging in the numbers we know into what we have.(y=-2)=-2(0)+b-2=0+bHowever, if you were to graph y=-2x-2 (such as on this website), you'll see that's not parallel, and that it doesn't actually go through (0,-2). I decided to take business as an extra college class because most people were also taking an extra class but now I am worried about the difficulty. I know it depends on the teacher but do you have any tips on this class if you've ever had it? I've never taken an extra class and I am also halfway through my first AP class (AP Euro). Would it be too stressful to balance both?

I myself have never taken business, but the people I know who have always went on about how much you needed to take really good notes. So make sure that you're doing your best note-taking. Anyone with more helpful tips than that, please feel free to message this person!Kudos for taking an extra while taking AP! Just make sure that you're giving yourself enough time each night for all your homework.

alright so i have a chemistry culminating tomorrow and found out the lab portion of it is something i missed in class, titration. i've read through the steps in my textbook but i was wondering if you could give me a walk through possibly? i'm really anxious about this, i won't be able to ask questions or get any assistance tomorrow. and i won't have a lab partner either

Wow titration is kind of hard to explain without demonstrating it, but I found this website that has a photo walkthrough.But to put it in the easiest way to understand, you're essentially going to be mixing a mystery substance together with a substance you know in order to determine the concentration of said mystery substance. You'll figure this out by keeping track of the reaction between the two substances and waiting for something precise to happen, like reaching a certain pH or changing color. The data you collect will help you to calculate the concentration.Good luck tomorrow!

My chemistry exam is tomorrow, and I'm drawing a blank on some of the older stuff we've learned. Can you please outline a quick crash course (just the necessary info!) on atomic structure? I'm getting my atomic number, mass number, proton/neutron/electron numbers mixed up. Also, isotopes? Sorry, just the basic explanations would be fantastic!

Atomic number refers to the number of protons in the nucleus. So no matter how many electrons or neutrons there are, the number of protons is what counts to tell you what the element is.Mass number is the number of neutrons added to the number of protons.Isotopes just refers to two or more different atoms of the same element that have the same number of protons but different numbers for their neutron counts.I hope that this helps!
