The Honeycomb Project is a nonprofit organization in Chicago that inspires and mobilizes families to make a difference together. Each month, we create a variety of fun, organized and educational service projects to help people of all ages get out of the house and into the community. Since 2011, Honeycomb has empowered more than 2,200 volunteers to make our city a cleaner, safer and happier place to live. Honeycomb families have prepared breakfasts at local shelters, packed food for hundreds of hungry families, removed more than 400 lbs. of trash from our shoreline, helped homeless dogs find homes, built community gardens in food deserts and so much more.

It's time again to celebrate at our annual Fall Fundraiser! Drinks, delicious food, a live jazz band, and a super auction, all at only $60 a ticket. We hope that you will join us and celebrate how far we've come over these last three years (just this year we've increased our programming by 30%! We'll engage 1,600 volunteers this year!). All of the money raised will go toward creating more multigenerational volunteering opportunities all of the city.  Buy a ticket today!

On Your Own Project Ideas

Keeping our minds in shape over the summer is just as important as keeping our bodies in shape. Unfortunately, many kids in from low-income families don't have access to books over the summer. With your family and friends, host a book drive to collect donations for an organization like Open Books, which helps put learning tools into the hands of those who need them. Have everyone bring one of their favorite books and a snack to turn it into a party!

Did you know: One Tail at a Time is a no-kill, all-breed dog rescue that serves to lower euthanasia rates in the greater Chicagoland area and provide education on the humane treatment of companion animals. Honeycomb volunteers had a great time packing treats, making handcrafted dog toys, and decorating "Adopt Me" bandanas for foster dogs in rescue with One Tail at a Time.

We'll be joining folks at the Friedman Place, a residential facility for blind and visually impaired adults, for a fun and inviting night of songs, jokes and music. Feed Hungry Families

Holy moly! Over 100 volunteers joined us at 63rd Street Beach this past weekend and helped to remove a record 562 lbs. of trash from our shoreline! A special thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work!
