I’m also trying to not use production software so much like FL studios or whatever, simply because good songs don’t need fancy background noise!

Sometimes it’s been useful tho when I have a simple piano thing that I just want to roll out through the whole song, it means I don’t have to focus so much on playing and more on writing.

But I’m talking about actually making stuff on FL first and then writing over it or something like that!

Like maybe I should write more things on ukulele again cause my most emotional stuff was written on it.

But then again I’m not sure I wanna write 100% emotional ballads, I wanna write pop songs, bon iver Holocene type songs, songs that have a billie Eilish bellyache/ Tom Grennans Barbed wire feel to them (chill but not boring chill)

Idk, I wanna record stuff this year and release it & hope that I have this magical one in a million success story of how people instantly took to it and I basically become a god overnight but no, it’s probably gonna be something I have to work HARD for which I’m not 100% sure I wanna do that.

I’m not 100% sure I like this new writing style.

I think I prefer the old one which is very stern & to the point but trying to be clever. I think that one has produced better songs and better music.

This new one feels too floaty and carefree. Like I’m not actually attached to it and there’s no emotion in it.

It could all just be where I’ve not written properly for ages and I’ve gotta re learn how to feel when I write as opposed to now where I’m just writing and that’s that.

Not sure how I’ll be able to tell what’s a good song from a bad one but we’ll just go with it and hope for the best!
