Ananta

One of the most ambitious mobile projects I've seen is Ananta, the new NetEase game coming in 2025 for Android, iOS, consoles, and PC.

Think about it: Genshin Impact + GTA + Spider-Man.

The scope of this game is enormous, and I can already see many people lamenting that their devices won't be compatible with this title.

NetEase has already shown some gameplay, and it looks like it will allow you to switch characters at any time and navigate the city by car.

They even had the nerve to parody the GTA trailer. This NetEase game knows no bounds.

look outside

Look Outside is a survival horror role-playing video game developed by Francis Coulombe and published by Devolver Digital on March 21, 2025. This title is available for PC via Steam.

Plot: In Look Outside, players find themselves trapped in an apartment building where a strange occurrence turns those who look through the window into grotesque monsters. As the outside world descends into chaos, the player must explore the building in search of resources, weapons, and answers, confronting creatures that were once their neighbors and making decisions that will influence their survival and the outcome of the story.

The new Metro will be darker due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine

"We continue to develop in times of war"

4A Games has spoken about the fourth installment of Metro, which has been in development for several years. In a recent post commemorating the 15th anniversary of the series, since Metro 2033 was released on March 16, 2010, 4A Games reflected on the last decade and a half of the franchise, also addressing the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The studio emphasized that, as its developers experience the conflict firsthand, the story of the next game has become even darker, reflecting the reality they are experiencing.

As fans eagerly await the next installment in this iconic post-apocalyptic series, 4A Games shared how recent events have influenced the new game's narrative: "As we stated in our last studio update, the full-scale invasion of Russia in 2022 changed the way we wanted to tell the story of the next Metro. As art became life for many of our developers in Ukraine, we drew on those experiences to create an even darker story, making the themes already present in Metro more apparent and important than ever."

The project is being created in collaboration with Dmitry Glukhovsky, the creator of the Metro novels and currently a target of the Russian government. Glukhovsky, known for his critical stance against the war in Ukraine, has been sentenced to prison in absentia for his statements. The 4A Games team expressed their support for the writer: "Dmitry has spoken out against the war in Ukraine from the beginning, a brave decision for any Russian, which has earned him a prison sentence in absentia. We are proud to have him as a friend and co-creator as we tell this next chapter of Metro, which has never been more relevant."

escape room

The escape room phenomenon curiously originated in the digital world, in the 1980s, with the video game Behind Closed Doors

developed by John Wilson. A game in which the user had to use their cunning and mental agility to solve puzzles and overcome screens. Although the game didn't feature attractive graphics, it was enough to satisfy players and give rise to a class of video games that would later be released.

In fact, we have to go back to 2004 in Japan to find Crimson Room, a new video game that required searching for clues and solving mysterious cases.

And two years later, in 2006, Silicon Valley engineers developed the digital game Origin, the first point-and-click game that simulated a famous detective novel by the renowned author Agatha Christie. This was the beginning of the escape games we know today and, above all, of our protagonists: the escape rooms.

"Limbo"

Playing 'Limbo' is playing at resolving loneliness in any way possible. Its name is a perfect metaphor for understanding what it feels like to be nowhere, when there's no other option. It's a limbo between two people: between a world that's passing and another that awaits. The game's visuals play with shadows, mirages, opening a distance that, at times, feels unbearable. 'Limbo' lets the images be represented in their minimal form, barely recognizable as something, but without understanding them. The protagonist himself is a black silhouette with glowing eyes; an image that says nothing.

Ico

Ico's approach to loneliness is very different from that seen in other titles. The protagonist is a boy who is locked in a castle for being born with horns. There, he meets a girl dressed in white who doesn't speak and doesn't know how to do anything. The player's goal is to save her. In reality, we never learn his motives for getting this girl out. We only know that we have to move forward, and that's it.

The soundtrack is its greatest asset. As a player, you hear everything that happens: the echo of the vast castle, the sound of chains, the girl crying for help, the emptiness surrounding Ico. You can hear everything, but the loneliness never leaves your soul.

Silent Hill

It's one of the few games that has managed to capture Eastern horror cinema; that suspense that only they can convey. Harry Mason's story is unsettling. It's the answer to the intrigue of finding himself completely alone in a new and practically abandoned place.

Mason wanted to find his daughter, and what's most distressing about his mission is that no one knows anything. Not him, not anyone else. His loneliness is the guiding thread of the suspense. The game is so unsettling that it doesn't even have a single ending; there's no meaningful goal. The unease generated by the settings of 'Silent Hill' conveys an anxiety to seek companionship, to navigate the dark world with someone else.

Inspired by It Takes Two and Split Fiction, this cooperative game is ideal for playing in pairs.

In this online co-op game without local play, one player controls an animator in first-person: moving around the studio opening crates, removing obstacles and breaking stakes to clear the way for the second player, who in third-person controls the puppet that advances, jumps, boosts and moves crates, through a world full of incredible details and a playful camera perspective.
