āOh thank God,ā Sam thought to himself when the plane heād been on for the last 10 hours finally landed in Paris. He loosened the tight grip he had on his armrest and took in a deep breath, stretching his long legs in front of him. Heād been looking forward to getting to spend a whole semester abroad, in Paris as in Paris France he reminded himself again, but the second he had heard about this exchange student program his school had he had rushed home and asked his parents if he could join. He barely spoke any French but he was sure that along the way heād pick up the language⦠hopefully. Ā
After collecting his luggage Sam made his way out of the terminal, eyes scanning the place for someone who matched the photo he had gotten of the family he was staying. Hearing his name Sam turned to look into the direction he had heard the voice coming from, a grin forming on his lips when he noticed a woman waving, making it hard to read the sign she was holding. He recognized her face as well as that of the guy standing next to her. Making his way over to the two Sam couldnāt help but wave back to the woman, grinning, even more, when he actually was able to understand a few of the things the lady was saying to him. āHey, hi⦠um, Bonjour,ā he said, a clear American accent messing up his French, holding out his hand for her to take and after shaking her hand he turned his attention to the tall boy standing at her side, one heck of a gorgeous boy to boot, he thought to himself, nodding a little in reply to Sebastianās words. āNice to meet you two too, Sebastian,ā he said, testing the otherās name on his lips. I kinda got the Bonjour and welcome to Paris bit, but thatās it. Thanks for translating. Can I hire you as translator for the length of my stay,ā he joked.Ā Ā
He grinned a bit hearing Sam try to speak French, and the joke. It was a little lame, but he was hot enough so Sebastian will let it slide āIām sure we can work out some sort of payment plan.ā He said,Ā āBut Iām sure youāll pick some up, my fatherās pretty busy and aside from him, Iām the only other person in the house that speaks English.ā Beside him, AmĆ©lie just watched the two teens with a grin, before speaking again. āNous devrions y aller, Sam doit sĆ»rement s'installer avant que ton pĆØre ne rentre Ć la maison.ā (We should go, Sam surely needs to settle in before your father comes home.) Sebastian turned his head to her and nodded, quickly bringing his attention back to the boy. āTime to go.ā
It was only at the insistence of his mother that he helped Sam with his luggage, not that heād tell Sam that, he needs to look polite after all, but soon they were in the car. It was a mostly quiet ride, most of the conversation happening between Sebastian and his mother, but when it ended he once again help Sam bring his things in the house and set them up in their guest bedroom.Ā āMy room is down the hall, if you need help or something.ā He leaned against the doorframe, trying to run through what he needed to tell him.Ā āAs a warning about needing my help, Iām usually...busy and out of the house on weekend nights. Iād also appreciate it if you donāt mention my leaves to my parents, they wouldnāt be very thrilled.ā On his fatherās half, more thanĀ ānot thrilledā, but heās not telling the boy everything about his life. Especially not now.Ā āOther than that there arenāt too many things to keep in mind here. The maids should get you whenever meals are ready, and you have to stay out of my fatherās office, that should be it.ā He gave another grin, trying to seem as friendly as possible.
