Weird fun facts and lore drops about The Inky Water stuff
-Ive drawn Miriam without their big cloud head before but none of it is strictly canon. But I do imagine they have short hair that curves into the shape of a whale tail :)
- Clarisse is the name of the girl who's body was found. She is also that "Force of Nature"
-In the 1970s (part of) Clarisse was a very handsome transgender brazilian man.
-Clarisse is also (partially) gravity itself/the thing at the center of the universe
-She's also just some unlucky girl
- The Whale/Life was inspired by The Edge of Sleep
-Nerea is actually way more cognitivally advanced than she should be. That's because of the other forces at play in TIW each try to pull a fast one on the Whale and get their foot in the Nerites through Nerea.
-Each character has instruments/genres of music that I tended to use in their themes. Miriam used a lot of synth, and music boxes and had a dreamy feel. Galleski used a lot of piano. Nerea and Chatbot both have synth/chiptune. But Nerea was far more moody, whereas Chatbot was peppier. Clarisse used harp and bass. Ari, a character I never introduced had a rock guitar feel + piano. Whereas Theo (bug corpse man) would have jazz with a lot of brass (because it sounds like bugs)
-There's another set of Living Vessels that orbit the planet in space stations called the Anemoi. One of them, The Skiron, blows up but not supernaturally this time. It's terrorism
-It is illegal for AI to claim they are sentient, or even act sentient.
-Nerea is named after a character from a false version of the Nerites myth. I didn't know this when writing but I'm still using the name even if she's a fraud.
-Miriam hates tube worms. They just do.
-Colonel Galleski doesn't remember her 20s
-Miriam was the second child born on the Nerites
