His Home is shared with himself, Nü Wa, Fu Xi, and Especially the Jade Emperor. This is one of the highest points for The High Kingdom of heaven, The Palace is one of the massive structures entirely and it over looks the Middle Kingdom which is the heaven for mortals who passed on to reside. It is on top of the clouds of Middle Kingdom and rests on a mountain the tallest one and at that point only immortals, sages, the finest scholars of heaven, and other deities can enter the High Kingdom. It holds a Peach Garden where parties are held. Only the invited can enter.
It's not the only palace, there is still The Jade Palace on Kunlun Mountains in the Lower Kingdom (Living World) that is used to bring connections and links from heaven to earth. If anything were to happen in the Mortal World that place would be a extra doorway and an optional base of operations.
Shangdi when he goes into 300 Years of meditation would ascend upwards. Erlang Shen only sees this place along with Shangdi’s children the creator gods. No one else is allowed to enter above the High Kingdom to keep its Transcendent Purity. The throne then goes to Erlang for 300 Years.
Religious Alignment and Practices
He is aligned to Taoism. He is purely Taoist. It is a religion he is quite comfortable with actually. While the Mystic Realm is recorded to have the coexistence of Taoism, Buddhism, Shintoism to make it a vast realm a very vast one.
He is often praised as a War God, However that title is passed rightfully to another. He was probably worshipped since he fought a battle that almost never ended against Sun Wukong. But his worship still grants him blessings within the Temple of Heaven for Shangdi.
Grudges are still kept
It is evident that Erlang is not entirely a happy person, He witnessed his mother get executed at a young age and it still remains in his head. But he does not grow fond of some people, One of which being Fu Xi since he married Nü Wa. He will not and never view him as a cousin. Ever.
Of course he is not fond of Sun Wukong, Erlang is not fond of having a wild animal that made a senseless rampage have any honor or merit in the Realm. And with Wukong’s involvement regarding Orochi he is yet again not fond of him. The only thing that prevents Wukong from punishment is the fact Buddha defends him. Sharing minimal resentment to Buddha, Erlang will highly enforce the Monkey King to back away from most of heaven.
The one who is just as much blame is Shangdi, The Jade Emperor and his Uncle. Erlang was given compensation such as his position as a Commanding Deity or The legitimate crown heir for Jade Emperor. He holds bitterness to his Uncle, hence why he is pretty extreme to cram enforcing laws and be much less lenient than Shangdi. Erlang is also much less forgiving. Of course he has Reason, His mother was imprisoned with Erlang and was executed on the order of Shangdi. Despite this rather imposing questionable method, he does bring excellent safety to the spirits and severely crushes his enemies with the aims of being better than his Uncle.

🔯 - “Yes I am. I'm the one That heaven calls whenever my Uncle the Jade Emperor needs to retire for about Three Hundred Years. Which is surprisingly not too long in Mortal Years.” He gave her a light smile, Not doing anything too flashy.
⊰ 🌸 ⊱: — “It is an honor to meet you, Lord.. Yang Jian.” With that said, a slight tilt of her head was made. “What.. shall I address you as..?”
🔯 - “Yang Jian is fine, It's not easy to have two names. One I was born with, The second posthumous. But I am that actual mystic..”
⊰ 🌸 ⊱: — The Dancer chuckled; a soft smile gracing her lips. “I am most flattered, my Lord.”
“Ah forgive me. My name is Diaochan.”
A light smile was given to her, As he had turned his head to glance.
🔯 - “My name is, Erlang Shen. Of course if you want to use my original know as Yang Jian, You're welcome to.”
⊰ 🌸 ⊱: — “Hmm.. perhaps.” the woman pondered on the thought. “I will surely enjoy myself while I can. Perhaps even perform under the moonlight.” she gave somewhat of a sheepish smile. “I am still unsure myself..”
🔯 - “I think you'd be great for a lead performer.” He had lightly gestured his hand to the amount of celebrations on one of the main towns. “Chang’e would be honored if someone managed to honor such blessings by a dance; Yet glisten to the moonlight.”
⊰ 🌸 ⊱: — “It is indeed.” the brunette smiled. “Beautiful as well. The weather is rather soothing.”
🔯 - “Do you have any plans for the festival? The Moon will be casting a strong scenery for a few days. It is going to be a pleasant break from the summer.” He glanced to the dancer.

My favorite deity in Chinese Myth - Erlang Shen (二郎神). Last 2 pics are also my favorite TV renditions of the character. The last one is played by one of my favorite actors. *squee*
Erlang is very often hailed nowadays as a god of war. But I’m not sure I agree with that role. The more traditional war gods in Chinese myth are actually Xing Tian (邢天) and Chi You (蚩尤), and I’d even argue that deities like Nezha (哪吒) is a more proper diety of war/battles than he is. Erlang is probably more accurately a martial god/sage (武圣). He’s less about the leading armies part of war and more about the kicking of butts. =P Hence, why he was called in to fight the Monkey King in “Journey to the West” when nobody else in the Heavens could match the monkey. But he was not often shown as a front line army/squad leader during the Shang-Zhou war in “Canonization of the Gods”.
More traditionally, he’s the patron deity of the Shu (蜀) region of China, which more or less encompasses the modern Sichuan region. (Kinda like how Athena was patron deity of Athens and so forth.) He’s also a god of the waterways (possibly civil engineering?), credited with helping the historical figure of Li Bing (李冰) build the Dujiangyan (都江堰) Irrigation System.
On a less serious vein, I also think he should be a deity of domestication (or Pokemon trainers XD). IIRC he’s the only major mythical figure who is associated with a varied retinue of pets. The most famous is the celestial hound Xiaotianquan (啸天犬), and he’s also known to have a hunting hawk and a silver horse. Fun fact - in “Canonization of the Gods”, all the other gods have a tendency to have one or a few major arcane artifacts which they would often use in during battle as their ‘ultimate attack’, in an RPG sense. Erlang, on the otherhand, never bothered with any artifacts. Instead, in the middle of battle, he would fling his dog out of his sleeve to maul his opponents face - to great effect. Now remember, in ancient China, the only pure breed of dogs is the ancestor of the modern Pekingese (and not the large bloodhound/german shepherd type dog that is depicted in more modern art). I have to admit, the mental image of a fluffy pekingese assassin puppy getting tossed out of a god’s sleeve made for a very hilarious mental image.
