- I wonder what would happen if we started all over again, what it would be like. - We'd probably do it better.
Hey it's the quote I love so much I put it in my edit!

Have you ever had a job that was just weird? Let ‘weird’ mean “a number of events that, upon careful examination, are or were out of the ordinary for you.”
Yes, but it was an admittedly ‘weird’ line of work
Yes, but my co-workers made the experience weird*
Occasionally, but it was situational**
No, not really
Well, there was this one time…

Poll sender idk what you’re asking here
*the job itself could’ve been fairly normal or average
**situational meaning a ‘weird’ customer/client/what have you, only one or two ‘weird’ co-workers, out of the ordinary experiences every so often, etc.

we'll see how it goes, but I think I disagree with the assumption that the webseries itself was ever "canon" to the vice universe. i think approximate events of the webseries happened but not exactly. because i don't think those events that matt has trouble squaring away ever happened. even the moments we see in the movie that were in the webseries are still an alternate take on it. the flyers in the show were jay's idea, matts in the movie. like there's a deliberate separation happening to me. i can't shake away the feeling of it.
Yeah I don't know if this is a phenomenon with newer fans or what but I don't think I ever considered the webseries "canonical". I always thought of it like Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. The webseries was a first attempt that they recycled a few things from. There's like .5 seconds of webseries footage in The Banner to show that at some point Matt and Jay delivered a press package to the Rivoli. I don't think we were supposed to believe they really did that in 2007 and then waited ten years to call them about it. The fact that the movie now acknowledges even some of the webseries universe really happened is kind of revolutionary for older fans. But I'm seeing so many newer fans just take it at face value that of course they were always connected.
god with me on a random night in 8th grade
Matt and Jay guessing what the other thinks is the most annoying thing about themselves
“There aren’t enough hours in a day.” There are actually. The problem is that we think 40 hour work weeks are an unavoidable fact of life.
The problem is that everyone has to work 8 hours, pretty much no exceptions, and with getting ready time + (unpaid) lunch + commute, “8 hours” is actually anywhere between 9 and 12, every single day, with more work to do when you get home because our society and culture was built around having one member of the household home full time and nothing has changed now that almost everyone works.
No wonder Americans are reliant on DoorDash and fast food, there’s no time or energy to cook. No one wonder mental and physical health are in shambles, many just spent all day sitting in fluorescent lights with little to no stimulation. “Just wake up earlier” “Just meal prep”… these are ok short-term, individual solutions, but the broader, systemic issue is obvious. We aren’t built for this. There’s no work-life balance. Genuinely, I think if our culture could normalize a shorter work week, many individuals’ biggest problems would simply evaporate.
honestly how it feels to drug and be drugged, respectively

I still remember back in the late 2010s when someone posted “how is there not fanfiction about nirvanna the band the show” brother if u only knew
Lol I think this was me. I've barely had time to collect my thoughts over this whole phenomenon btw. When I posted that back in 2018 or whatever I had already been an obsessed fan of Matt Johnson and Zapruder for a couple years but it felt so niche. (Like Matt himself has said it's a very private thing for fans). Anyway I started to see more fans pop up on Tumblr and thought surely soon the shipping will start, right? Surely I can't be the only one who has thought of this right? But there was virtually nothing back then. Cut to now?! Somehow in the span of like what 1 month?! Literally every new fan has just accepted that the ship is canon?! It's funny, I'm not even much of a fan fiction reader tbh, but it makes me overjoyed just knowing it's out there. :)
Get the fuck off YouTube shorts
I gotta say, I have a lot of bad phone habits sure but I'm really proud of myself for so easily breaking my short-form video scrolling habit. It helps that the vertical format bothered me to begin with. And that the YouTube algorithm was serving up so much crap I didn't like. But here's what I did: I tricked myself into believing that scrolling is simply not a function on the app. I can still use Youtube. I can even click on a short from the suggestions if the thumbnail catches my attention. But when that video is over I hit the back button just like with any other video. Why would I scroll down to be surprised by some random bullshit I didn't actually intend to watch?? I'm only watching what I click on. These days I'll click on maybe 3 shorts a day. The trick is just don't fucking scroll!
This is the Howtown video that convinced me to stop scrolling btw:
