Thank you so much to everyone reblogging! I really want a big sample size for this because I'm truly fascinated by the results. I'm biased but I thought there'd be way more Viceland era folks (maybe I shouldn't have separated 2017 and 2018). Also I kind of forgot that what I deemed the dark ages was actually the meme explosion era, what with wii shop Wednesday and all that. Really cool to see there are some fans that have been around since the webseries!

I started The Artist's Way recently and I'm realizing the problem isn't that I'm creatively blocked, it's that I can't find the time to create. Or the time to "refill the well" as they say. The reason why I read less and draw less and do artsy hobbies less isn't because my brain is aging poorly or addicted to my phone. I've just adjusted to working 40 hours. And I'm comparing my life now to my life when I worked half as many hours and didn't do all the grocery shopping. Of course I was more productive and more imaginative back then.

There's a task this week in Artist's Way where you're supposed to chart out where all your time goes? Does it go to you, or someone else? And I'm seriously dreading this task because it's obviously going to my job.

Anyway. People should be able to live off part-time work. No exceptions.

we'll see how it goes, but I think I disagree with the assumption that the webseries itself was ever "canon" to the vice universe. i think approximate events of the webseries happened but not exactly. because i don't think those events that matt has trouble squaring away ever happened. even the moments we see in the movie that were in the webseries are still an alternate take on it. the flyers in the show were jay's idea, matts in the movie. like there's a deliberate separation happening to me. i can't shake away the feeling of it.

Yeah I don't know if this is a phenomenon with newer fans or what but I don't think I ever considered the webseries "canonical". I always thought of it like Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. The webseries was a first attempt that they recycled a few things from. There's like .5 seconds of webseries footage in The Banner to show that at some point Matt and Jay delivered a press package to the Rivoli. I don't think we were supposed to believe they really did that in 2007 and then waited ten years to call them about it. The fact that the movie now acknowledges even some of the webseries universe really happened is kind of revolutionary for older fans. But I'm seeing so many newer fans just take it at face value that of course they were always connected.
