The mimes are not clowns, a really big contrast. They are a species that was engineered by big corpo (can't remember it off the top of my head) specifically to watch over the clown car (not its actual name but what all refer to it as now.). They are silent as to not disturb the animals and work as a hivemind of sorts, albiet on a weak level. They communicate through pheromones and elaborate hand symbols, although after a century they might've formed a new hivemind and either degraded or evolved. They were made specifically to maintain the machinery, keep the organic bits from the clown car alive from the code in the body to the design of them.

You could argue that their sorta victims now because of the fact they've got an entire planet that has ostracized them. You could probably find clowns that make a fun game out of hunting them now, and would be hard pressed to find one that likes them. I mean, why would you? They captured you. They were going to use you in unethical ways because of their corporate greed, which even if you ain't literate much, is very bad. On the other hand, they've done nothing wrong to humans. Opposite, some human researchers existed and were maintained by them (bringing them food, assisting them with simple tasks, etc.)

I haven’t heard back from the studio I’ve put money down in for about three weeks.

I have not heard back regarding my ability to comment or message folk.

I’ll keep you in the loop regarding updates. We should still be prime for May release of the 2nd issue, albeit we may need to do a new blog at this rate.

I don’t really read Archive of our own mych, but damn straight.

All of our work is done by a person, a human with needs and wants and dreams. To let some imitation of it would make the media unworthy of being consumed by y’all.

I’ve recently went to an Art fair and supported local artists by buying their art. Here’s what I’ve gotten.

I may contact the one who made the Canvas for a commission if they’re able to do a portrait. I’d like one of warm colors and of a tri-corn wearing clown possibly on a horse for The Jesters Jovials.

The Jesters Jovials is a zine about the fictional world of New Venus, a world where a clown car crashes into a corporate mining world and how’ve they’ve adopted after a century.

New Venus is a world of corporate dystopia that’s been abandoned and to be inhabited by clowns.

It’s been a century since the clown car, a large corporate bio-collector meant to collect species across the galaxy crashed into the previous mining world.

Now, we write what has become of them and the cultures that now populate their city.

What about standard height range? Not including genetic mutations like dwarfism/gigantism, assuming they get those. Also, are they carbon based lifeforms? If not, what element was their og planet’s life primarily composed of

With collaboration in mind, we don't want to entirely tie down the idea of what a clown is since the more liberty we can give people, the more I feel the idea of our zine, that being putting a silly laughable creature like a clown into an apocalpytic / sci-fi world. The description of what a clown may be changing depending on where they were and what technology / arts they focused on.

But let's focus on the pre-venus clowns. They were tropical, large creatures of 6'ft for the females and 6'3 for the males with large variances. Genetic mutations like dwarfism, gigantism and other sorts were incredibly common due to the lack of predators. The common one may have been that, but that was when they were on a jungle planet with a variety of resources and the lack of predation that would normally cull those genes.

A large pool of genetic mutations, a diverse planet of FAUNA FROM A HELLUVA ton of planets would give you a large pool to work with. Do you envision 2ft clown businessmen who wish to deal with corporations and probably give them copper-flaked covered stone? Probably exists in one of those big corporate offices that got left behind (and redecorated.)

I was asked how close the Clowns of New Venus are to Humans.

Clowns are at a solid 7 in regards to how close they are to human. They grew independently of humanity on a planet mainly deprived of predators and as such, would become the apex species of the planet.

They originally had long tongues to be able to consume shelled insects, pollen, that sort. They've got them big ol' fucking eyes and their slightly off to the sides. More prominent tear ducts for tear production. They've got them long ass feet with slightly spread toes to be able to properly climb shit and the same with their hands. They've got colorful hair across their body which would be easy to distinguishable since you can see the stubble growing colored in.

BRIGHT WHITE COMPLEXIONS. They were born and bred for attention grabbing stuff since those who had the brightest features would breed the most since, lack of predators but tons of resources. They didn't have highly advanced technology but they did have arts from the local availabity of resources.

After captured and stuck for a century at NEW VENUS, their evolutions skyrocketed and quickly. They could produce quickly and grow probably just as fast, (eggs and sort, come out ready for clowning). At a distance, maybe you would think it was one of those nu-corpos plastered across the holo-screens but as you get closer, you can see them.
