It's easy to lose sight of the beauty in the country you grew up in, or "hemmablind" as we would say in Swedish. ⁣ I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of different countries and discover the beauty of other parts of the world. ⁣ I've also spent a significant amount of time discovering more of my home country of Sweden in the last couple of years. It might not house the *most* spectacular of anything, which in a way reflects the Swedish spirit of "lagom", but it still has a tremendous amount of beauty and lots of places and quirks to discover!⁣ ⁣ Though I'm not there to celebrate it, today is Sweden's national day! I've realized though that I don't appreciate Sweden as much as when I'm not there, so maybe this is the best way for me to spend the national day. ⁣ ⁣ To be fair I think most swedes save the celebration for midsummer anyways... ⁣ ⁣⁣ 📷 One of the good things about Sweden is that you have proper seasons and there's something to enjoy in all of them! It's fun to look back at the past year and see how much has changed in such a short amount of time. This time last year I was living in a van and exploring the places I thought I already knew. I'm on my way out on a little adventure in the mountains. It's going to be so nice to just get away for a little while and be free from the privileged distractions of having so many things accessible to me at all times. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This year I decided to challenge myself by posting something to social media (i.e. Instagram) every single day for the entire year, or until I changed my mind.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So far it's been a mostly positive experience. I've had a lot more engagement on the things I post, I enjoy the challenge of trying to create content daily and I've (partially) overcome the hurdle of thinking that every post has to be "good enough" for Instagram.⁣⁣ Recently I've been feeling the downsides of it too though. I don't think social media alone is to blame for it, but the numbers going down and added stress of trying to produce and publish something daily on top of the other things I've got going on right now has just made me feel a bit off.⁣⁣ I will enjoy this little break and re-evaluate what I want to get out of this.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I'm really grateful for the comments, likes and DM's I've gotten in the past few months!
