I realized I've never shared him before so here's my genshin oc:
Nathan
Note: i created him in early 2022, back when we were still in Inazuma. His backstory and lore was created based on a Fontaine that only ever existed on my imagination. Suffice to say, when Fontaine came out it was very different from what i was expecting and it contradicted much of Nathan's lore that i had created. Still, i wanted to share him here, he's still my baby after all. I made only a few adjustments to his story for now.

Model Type: Medium Male
Arkhe: Ousia
Character roles: On-field Vaporize DPS with an alternate sprint (like Mona's)
He is half human half siren (back then I was hoping that there would be mermaids/sirens in Fontaine xD). His mom is a siren, but was never really present in his life. He grew up with his dad, a musician, with whom he had a close relationship. Sadly, his dad died due to illness when Nathan was 16.
Nathan has a talent in music and learned to play the violin from his dad. He also inherited a beautiful, literally hypnotizing voice from his mother which led him to become a lawyer, as he uses it to get information out of people when gathering evidence for his cases.
Story
Archon quest
In the genshin story that my 2022 self had planned out, the traveler would meet Nathan during the Fontaine archon quest. When he runs into legal trouble, Nathan introduces himself and offers to take their case, as he's very interested. The traveler refuses as they already have someone in mind who can help them, and that is Yanfei. After all, Yanfei had insisted that if they ever run into legal trouble they should come to her. It's later revealed that Nathan was hired by the opposing party and so he basically functions as the antagonist for one or two acts of the archon quest.
Traveler, Paimon and Yanfei have a few run-ins with Nathan while they gather evidence for the case. Nathan singles out Yanfei and tries to use his hypnotizing powers™ to get information out of her but it doesn't work because she has adepti blood. They have a fight and Nathan loses only because the traveler intervened and stopped him in time. In the trial, the traveler's party wins ofc, but Nathan doesn't seem to have any notable reaction so his emotions, at that moment, are pretty hard to read.
Story quest
In Nathan's story quest, the traveler crosses paths with Nathan once again. Shockingly, Nathan hasn't held a grudge for losing the case, saying he still got some information he needed out of it (something to do with the whereabouts of his mother). The same can't be said for the traveler, they are still a bit wary of him.
Mid conversation, Nathan hears a call coming from the ocean. The traveler can't hear anything but after following the voice, it turns out to be a siren calling for help. Only Nathan was hearing it bc he's half siren :D
Anyway they help her, and find some more information for Nathan's investigation. Throughout the quest Nathan's lore gets explored. They learn how his parents met and Nathan's sad backstory is revealed. Nathan gets to reconnect with his siren side.
In the designated cutscene of the quest, we would get to see him play the violin🎻, like his father taught him.
Nathan and the traveler are now in good terms, since they got to know eachother a little better. (Hoorayyy now the antagonist character can become playable!)
Oc x Canon
If it wasn't clear already, Nathan was created to contrast Yanfei. From his design relying on cooler tones, rather than warm ones, to his unfortunate situation with his family, unlike Yanfei who has a loving relationship with hers. But most obvious is the fact that one is water themed (hydro) while the other is fire themed (pyro).
Despite all that, they are both half human half supernatural beings who chose to persue the same line of work. Maybe they're not so different after all and, instead, one would say the complete eachother.
I wanna plan out a little story for them. One where they have to set their differences aside and work together. An adventure of their own that gets them closer. I'd love to make it into a comic too but here's just a little drawing of them for now.
In the recent update there are mentions of sirens, as a type of fae, so maybe I'll be able to tie my oc into the lore after all :D (a redesign will likely be needed though)

There's no story behind this picture I just wanted to experiment a bit with the lighting and also show off Krista's wings with this. They glow like LED lights :D
