Questions of a Prayer

Jesus wearing the apron of an old God, Why must we repent if such sin has already been forgiven? I am a sinner, yes? I am a winner, no? Why must I pray when you already know what I seek to be given? Eternal life in a kingdom beckoned with woe, Does not fancy my heart like you want shown, Why would one want to be such a wonder if thy kin sinned their way to inferno? How can one be happy? Erase thy memoirs of thy peers? I question you, my lord, Am I a product of your service? Did you make me in your image too? Is there purpose to why I have the Devil's thoughts? A devil's questioning? Maybe... maybe I'm the one to refurbish your image, I know you children have been misguided through these past days... Thous final question, my lord, Who is truly the misguided?

Refugees

This country is a fearful country and I don't mean that in the fact that people fear us, but we fear people. We fear our neighbors. We fear our friends. We fear just about everything. The news has given us fear. This status is pertaining to the Syrian refugee cause. I saw an analogy the other day that kind of just stuck with me: "If you have a bowl of skittles and 10 of them were poisoned, would you take a handful?" I mean, it's honestly not a bad analogy, but I feel there is a better one to explain the situation and character of both sides of the argument. Basically, say a friend or your mother, father, child/family member, or your pet or even a stranger was trapped in a house that was on fire. Would you sit there and let the house burn to the ground as you know they are dying or in pain? Or are you the type of person who would risk their life just to try and save someone? How this analogy is different than the skittles one is that, with a fire you have the chance to live and save the person, but you also have the chance to burn or die as well. There's a chance for good as well as bad, but in the end the intent was good. With the skittles you only have one option and that's to die or do nothing. It's a definite answer, but the fire is not a definite answer. There's still a chance of hope that you can hold on to. There's two options with the refugees: 1) Allow them to take safety in America and risk the chance that ISIS has a snake in the pact or not or... 2) Be induced by fear from the media and allow innocent people to suffer just for security of oneself. We are taking a risk, but the human compassion in me wants to save the few innocent refugees that need to be saved. To me, it's the more noble and humble cause besides being persuaded by fear. That is all I have on the matter. Thank you for reading.

The search for an identity is one of the most wholesale phony ideas we’ve ever been sold. In the twenty-first century it’s almost entirely subsumed in its purest form of “brand identity”—for Levi to be “more black” would simply involve the purchasing of items connected with the idea of blackness. How can anyone be more black? Or more female? It’s like saying “I want to be more nose-having, more leg possessing.” People can only be defined by their actions in a world that contains other people. Sitting on a hill alone screaming “I am a Muslim in the 24–29 age bracket who likes Pepsi and sitcoms about loose bands of interconnected young people in my age group; I am a person who is French and into the things of Frenchness; I am a basketball player; a flower picker …” What does it mean? The Belsey children need to stop worrying about their identity and concern themselves with the people they care about, ideas that matter to them, beliefs they can stand by, tickets they can run on. Intelligent humans make those choices with their brain and hearts and they make them alone. The world does not deliver meaning to you. You have to make it meaningful. The Belseys need to weigh situations as they appear before them, and decide what they want and need and must do. It’s a tough, unimaginably lonely and complicated way to be in the world. But that’s the deal: you have to live; you can’t live by slogans, dead ideas, clichés, or national flags. Finding an identity is easy. It’s the easy way out.

Thoughts

I haven't posted on here for a bit, but I believe that's the kind of artist I am. I like being outside the realms of the Internet. Yes. I do know that this is and always will be the quickest way to get known, but the old fashioned way is a more enriching path. For instance, as everyone writes blogs, (s)he's writing a novel. As everyone is re-blogging posts, (s)he's filming a movie. As everyone is Photoshopping already used imagery, (s)he is painting art and etc. You see, you can waste time and effort trying to be seen for a piece of work via the Internet, all these memes and useless newspaper cutouts, but then you'll be equivalent to a pop star. You'll be known for a few years and the benefits are enriching, but then you'll be thrown to the curb like yesterday's garbage. That's when you'll wish you made something more tangible and enriching for oneself, not others. Be the effort you envision. Make beauty. That's what this is all about. Making beauty. Something that provokes emotion; makes you feel and if it makes others feel too, then that's a plus. Don't force it. Van Gogh wasn't loved and appreciated until years after his death, but he still made his work; his art. It made him feel and now he's one of the most well-known artists of his time. The Monster Atop the Bed

I looked under my bed, I saw a monster, Shriek! I know frightening, He came out in steed at me, It’s cold stare and furred skin, Crouching in the darkest corners of the room, Menacing grin and pointy nosed, Sharpened teeth and it rose to six feet, Standing in the darkest corner of the room, Drool washed my floor this eve, Tis it be the entity’s plight to make me miss day? Ah, it walks on fours just to sniff my stench, So close it was now to my bubble, It just stared, spoke nothing, It leered, I spoke wind, I find it sorrowful, I used to believe this thing scared me, I think it’s quite the opposite, This monster… is no monster… I gathered my tired body, And casually strolled past the beast, It gnarled but due to my bland face, It beckoned back into a shy woe, I entered my bathroom, I looked to the mirror, This monster… is a monster.

OOTD: Sorrow

Ever so gently reminisce of the old, Withering flower pedals dancing with wind, Memories, memoirs, and aloneness, I am young but thy soul is old, I suppose the word I meant was "wise," I am a man succumbed to rejection, As I look upon these pasts I see, I am broken and always was, Like a vase who was tapped out of place, Or similar to Humpty Dumpty because he was in the wrong spot, At the right time, I propose, What if he never fell? Lessons wouldn't of been shown/given, In each negative occurrence... there is a lesson, A lesson you don't see, you don't want, A lesson life thinks you need, So humbly and passionately, Soak up the sorrow, Soak up the knowledge it brings, Soak all the damned memories, Realize! You're a broken man, yes? Well, wear that suit well... It's the only outfit you truly have.

People Like to be People

Though ones who are politely of popular demand look upon us as if we were of quaint descriptions, I find that it be hard to find oneself when oneself never needed so, Ever growing to the possibility of an image one sees, Dreams and fantasies make these men, women, Ideas and pursuits are our dilemma, Things we want, that desire eludes us, "We're fine," I shout among the masses gathered, For some reason, given by confused gazes, I don't think they believed me.

The sound of pound makes me seem fat, I like the melody of ounce off my tongue, But please do not say moist, Moist is a loose annoyance to I, Moist, moist, moist, Repeat, reappear, rewrite, Editing editors edit my edit, I apologize, I was distracted, A rephrase, I am distracted, A writer writes what’s willingly written, A reader reads and reads readily again, A writers writing block is happily smitten, A reader sighs a sighing sigh again, For now only nonsense speaks, All is well though, I’ll thoroughly make no sense through and through.
