Bima Av-Matoran captain of the guard. Name in reference to ToWFF member Bioniclemaster724.
Turaga vakama... it's been a long time since i saw you. last time i saw you was when i saw you fighting teridax while i was flying through unsearched universes. i remember how you crafted masks and i am confused with masks of 2 of my toa members * he hands you 2 masks from an unknown universe, both marked with the letter "H" on the side*
Kavu looks down at the masks in his hands, then up at the Toa with an annoyed expression. After a long hard stare he says,“I’m no Turaga, and i’m certainly not Vakama. I haven’t seen him in years anyway...” He grumbles, turning the masks over in his hands, “And what are these? Those things that the Agori call masks? Ha, please.”
Hello, again, fire-spitter! Now that we stay-live in Spherus Magna, do you think-know if you will have more mask smelt-business with the Agori?
Ughhhh... Chutespeak....Yes, surprisingly enough, the Agori and their larger counterparts seem rather interested in Kanohi, Though they seem to have masks of their own, they seem boggled by the idea that masks could have power of their own.
Have you heard of the Mask of Undeath? If so, what could you tell us about it?
I assume you mean the Kanohi Tryna. That’s something I would have originally put in the theoretical Kanohi, but i’ve heard stories from some matoran from a place called Mahri Nui that one of the Toa from there had one. That said, I have no idea how it would be made.
Do you have to count-measure a head-face before craft-smelting a mask?
Dear Mata Nui, do I have to start with untangling Chute-speak?
Sigh.
If i’m understanding correctly, not typically no. Most matoran have basically the same size head. I do recall for the two Kanohi I made for Makuta, I had to make them a bit larger. Fortunately they provided the protosteel for the projects.
Unfortunately of course, I’m now aware of what horrific things they likely did with them. So, i’m not proud of those Kanohi.
A short retrospective commentary on thekanohiforge.
Hello Bionicle community, it’s been awhile. About three years ago, I, a young lad who probably spent far too much time reading Bionicle books and on BS01, started this semi-rp askblog as an outlet for my many headcanons about my favorite aspect of the Bionicle universe, the Kanohi. Kavu, the grumpy Ta-matoran I created for the blog, took on a life of his own, surviving the cataclysm and somehow ending up on Bara Magna and just sort of left as G1 was. Just kind of frozen in time.
In retrospect, I feel I rushed Kavu’s story a little. But with G1′s end I was pretty steadily loosing interest with the lack of new information or lore. I tried a few forays into the rp field, with very limited success, and eventually I pretty much dropped the blog altogether.
But, as nostalgia often does, Bionicle came swinging around the bend of my thoughts in the form of the new netflix show. Now, to be completely frank, as a show it’s not that great. But it being a Bionicle show, it has gotten me excited for the whole concept again. So, I’m going to give this another go. I’m going to do a brief warm-up, Kavu will answer some questions that have been sitting in the inbox for Great Beings know how long. I’ll be trecking through BS01 again to start doing those old style Kanohi commentary posts that Kavu started doing, and I’d like to encourage the Bionicle community to feel free to hit me up.
Thanks folks.
Open RP: Enjoying the Air
The gargantuan dragon sat casually in the sea, the great deep waters only reaching past his hips. His bent legs were mostly bellow the waters, only his knees above the sea level. The five great horns on his head grazed the clouds above, and with a smile, he took in a deep breath of thin, suspended air. He leaned forward and settled his arms on his legs, his forearms resting on his knees.
A sound from far below caught his attention, and he looked down.
Kikaru smiled warmly, “Well hello there! Why, you are the first creature I’ve seen since I awoke! What, if I may, are you?”
The Ta-Matoran grumbled irritably as he dusted himself off, giving the rock he had just tripped over a stern glare, he responded to the voice even as he turned his head to look up, “I am no creature at all, for one thing, and for anoth-” He stopped suddenly and tensed at the sight of the giant dragon perched above him. He slowly reached into his pack for a Kanoka disk.
Kikaru tilted his head, beyond intrigued by the minuscule being on the earth. He chuckled gently with amusement when it tripped, but sobered when it began reaching into its pack. He narrowed his eyes and leaned forward slowly, tilting his head further to get a good look at the little being. “I apologize for the assumption, small one, you are the first of your kind that I have met.”
The dragon’s eyes widened as he noticed the being was reaching for something in its pack, and tilted his head the other way, curious. “What have you got there, little one? An invention perhaps?”
Kavu pulled the Kanoka disk out, and quickly glanced to check the code: 145, blast.
“Of sorts,” He said warily, slowly backing away. His mind raced, obviously a poison removal disk wasn’t going to aid much here, however, with a Ta-Metru disk he might be able to stun the creature long enough through sheer surprise to make a break for it.
Greetings Mask-Maker! What information do you have on these beings called Bohrok? I heard some of your kind talking about how the Bohrok are moving again, I heard that they are run of some sort of organic mask, so I thought it best to ask you - Agori
Of them I know very little, to be honest. A long time ago the Archives of Onu-Metru had a few samples locked away, a few daring Archivists even tried wearing them. I’m not aware of what exactly happened during these tests, only that they apparently did not end well. I would not recommend putting one on, not that i’m sure your kind wear Kanohi anyway.

TifTaf sat snuggled in her blanket she hadn’t been feeling well as of late. If only someone would give her cuddles, dinner, and hang out.
Jaller had never seen such a unique mask peeking from its wearer’s blanket.
“Yeah…” he wondered how she even knew his name, “That’s me…”
His mask turned off, satisfied that its wearer followed where it wanted him to go.
((Ooc:Tumbler is acting weird idk why)) what brings you to my hidy hole?
“My… My mask… brought me here…”
He put a pinky finger in one of his ears and twisted to see if there was something wrong, he put his hand back down.
“Anyway, a-are you okay?”
“Mmm. That’s weird.” She paused for a moment deciding if she should be honest or not. “no”
His eyebrows furrowed, “Why?”
“Pain. It hasn’t been this bad in a long time.”
He sat on the edge of her bed, wondering to himself why he didn’t ask before he could sit down.
“Pain?” his eyes peered behind himself towards her.
“Yah. I have various neurological conditions it comes with the Territory.”
“The Territory?” he looked around as if he would see it out the door, he could’ve just walked past if for all he knew.
“Yep migraines and nerve pain galore. No doctor has found the exact cause.”
“Oh, Spirit…” he couldn’t imagine what pain this being was in, “Nerve pain? I get the migraines but I don’t know what nerve pain must be like…”
“Meh it’s no big deal been like this since I was little. Ya know you’d think when that great being experimented on me he would’ve fixed that.” She giggled. “Then again he had issues…”
“Why… Every new person I meet… They’re always depressed or in pain… A Makuta of some sort always has to mess with them… Every… TIME…” Jaller was all a sudden angry as to why every distinct being he met had to have the same story, why couldn’t the Makuta leave these people alone? He knew he was going to be next since felt it could happen to just anybody.
“Ok 1. it was not makuta it was a great being named Peirasmos, 2. Im not having a bad depression episode right now, and 3. if there is one thing that I have learned from all the pain and all the suffering is that there is always hope. It may not seem like it today or tomorrow but you will be ok. Even if you don’t believe it at the moment it will! And if you quit then you’re letting those who hurt you win! You wouldn’t want that now wouldja?”
“No… I wouldn’t… Also… I don’t know any Great Beings who would do that… I don’t even know if that was a Great Being…”
Jaller felt bad as to why he ever snapped after the speech this being had made, though he never asked for what she had said.
His mind trailed off to why other people he had met had such a similar pattern.
“Hehe Ya about that…his brethren found out and they weren’t to happy with him. Apparently what he did was illegal as far as they’re laws go.” Then she smiled. “On the bright side I ended up being the unofficial child to all of them especially one named Angonce he would give me candy and stuff and wouldn’t let me out of his sight! Those where good times.”
Jaller’s eyebrows flattened as his head leaned up, “Wait, what’s a candy?”
Let me get this straight. You have never ever had any type of candy ever?
“No, if I did I would have known what it was…”
“Well we will have to fix that won’t we?” *grabs sour ice breakers from under pillow* “these are sour candy and there are three flavors watermelon, green apple, and tangerine. Want some?”
*takes one of each*
*tries watermelon one*
*feels the burning of the sourness and the cooling of mint*
mmmMMMM-
*keeps it in his mouth as long as he could*
So are they good?
I don’t even know…
What is this feeling?
*tries apple one after watermelon one disintegrates*
*realizes apple is the most sour*
*leans head upwards*
“Probably the stinging of the mint, sourness, and probably a bit of sweetness too. Not to many people seem to be able to handle the sour part.“
*takes tangerine one*
*face is tired from wincing*
*gross mouth noises as he moves it around*
TifTaf saw his face and laughed. “Maybe you should only have one next time.”
His eyes were still shut and watering, he hoped he somewhat entertained her on such a bad day.
‘Laughter is the best medicine.’ he thought to himself.
“Do ya want water or something?”
“Hoping that would help…”
She got up wrapped up like a walking blanket noodle into the kitchen and got him a glass of water.
“Perhaps I should’ve gotten the glass? Since… you probably didn’t want to get up…”
“It’s no problem. If I don’t move every once in awhile it can make my nerves hurt more. If I don’t feel well enough to practice dancing I will walk every few minutes or so. And It is also a habit my blood family and I where known for our hospitality.”
After drinking perhaps half of the glass, he lied down on his side feeling a bit sleepy.
His eyes closed for a few minutes, arms folded over them to block the light and to stretch a little, unsure if it was a good idea to sleep in someone’s bed without asking or to stay awake for a few hours longer.
Kavu, who happened to be passing by, looked up from his book just in time to see a Toa of Fire pour water down his throat and lie down alongside what he could only assume was one of those odd agori people. He paused a moment to take in the scene with an expression of bemusement before shaking his head, muttering something about how mad this world was, and continued on his way.
Greetings Mask Maker. Are you still skilled in the art of the forge? ~ask-velika
I still am, though at the moment I still need materials. So if you need a Kanohi you’ll have wait at least a week, or maybe even bring your own materials if you happen to have them.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to scrounge up the materials. I’m sure you can trade any old item to an Agori as a “wonder of the old world” type deal
... Right. At this point, for the sake of any possible future dealings, I would like to make one thing clear. I am no shady Nynrah Ghost nor any sort of backstabbing Xian. I take great pride in my duty and my art, and will not have either muddied by any sort of illegitimate transactions. I'll acquire resources and craft the Kanohi without any deception, whatever you do with the mask after you've payed for it is none of my business I suppose. However I say this just so we're clear on that.
Mask maker, did you ever use more than one kanoha of the same power in the creation of a mask? For example, two remove poison and one regeneration?
There’s not much point in doing so really, with there being the simple solution of just using one higher powered Kanoka. At best it’s simply sloppy craft, only really giving yourself more work in having to shape a much unnecessarily denser disc. At worst… Well let’s just say that there have been more than a few apprentices who thought they could just simply make a Great Kanoka and have ended up with a few missing limbs.
This is a sprite of Kavu when he was in Metru Nui Definaly didn’t make this to compensate for taking so long to get the moc done I mean what
Made for Kavu over at thekanohiforge.tumblr.com
And here finally is my moc of Kavu I made for thekanohiforge, I have more pictures that I’m trying to find a way to post and stuff because Tumblrs picture size and stuff, but here’s one because I’ve taken so long to get to this point

Somehow, i’m still alive.
It’s a little difficult to believe that through this tumultuous millennium. Lonely wandering, war, slavery, rebellion are behind me now as I sit in this corner of this city of beings familiar and unfamiliar. Going through my things I was quite surprised to find this book still in working order. Reminds me of my former days as a mask maker in Metru Nui. I’d like to return to that I think. Surely there’s a need, i’m not sure where i’ll get materials or where even to begin, but those are matters that can be addressed as I encounter them. For the time being these Agori seem to be an inquisitive lot, perhaps I can answer their questions as I begin my craft anew.
