I was having a conversation about hoops with a kid a few years younger than me this past summer and Jason Williams came up.

"Oh, the white dude who came off the bench for the Heat when they went to the Finals?"

"Yeah..."

"He was a scrub."

"What!?"

I couldn't believe it. He was completely unaware of Williams career with the Kings and Grizzlies. This dude was awesome, peep the vid and marvel in his excellence.

I've had the pleasure to see KRIT perform a few times. The first was about two and a half years ago when he opened for Wiz Khalifa in Jersey. I had heard "Country Shit" a few times on the radio but was unfamiliar with any of his other work. The crowd wasn't into it but I was blown away by his set, it was a breath of fresh air. I immediately downloaded KRIT Wuz Here which still gets a ton of burn to this day.

I've had the fortunate and very lucky experience to meet and interact with a few artists who I'm fans of and when I met KRIT, he looked me right in the eye and wished me well. He was very down to Earth and appreciative of his position and to have him take the time out to even shake my hand and give me a minute of his time made me an even bigger fan.

He is easily my favorite current artist and I was amped when I found out he was coming through NYC a few weeks ago. He's come a long, long way. A few short years ago, he was booed while performing in New York, this time, he had that motherfucker live! He had a smile on his face during his whole set and he should: No one gave him a chance and he's making it happen.
