Hey everyone! I'm Dani. I'm 22 years old, and I've been roleplaying for about 10 years. I've mostly stuck to forum-based, OC RP, but in the past few yearsĀ I fell in love with canon RP and have decided to give tumblr RP a shot. I play Jim Kirk from the reboot movies, but I'd like to try my hand at Riverside/Academy era RP as well as Five-Year Mission RP. I like AUs as well, and have experience with panfandom RP.Ā As I already have commitments on Pandora, I will not be writing posts the length of the following RP sample on here. Rather, I am interested in short, rapid-fire style RP.
I am primarily interested in interactions with other canon characters, although I am not entirely opposed to Star Trek OCs. Spirk and McKirk are my favorite ships, but I'm willing to try just about anything once, include Kirkus or Kulu? Sirk? Anyway. I'm all for non-romantic RP too, like situational or AU based interactions. Cross-fandom stuff is cool too, and I do not have any aversions to NSFW stuff or triggery scenes.
Jim groaned as he came to. The feeling of a deep sleep fogged his mind and he blinked repeatedly, attempting to clear his blurred vision. Sunlight filtered in through the flecks of dirt and atmo that accumulated on the pod's main door and windows, illuminating the inside with a pale glow. He tested out his arms, stretching the stiffness from them as he cracked his neck and shoulders. One glance around his surroundings and he groaned again: Jim knew exactly how he'd gotten where he was and why, and it frustrated him to no end. The only question left was as to where he had ended up.Ā
"Computer, where am I?"Ā he asked, unfastening the restraints of the seat and feeling around for the survival kit standard to any shuttle. There was an uncomfortably long pause, filled only by the sound of his fidgeting and silent fuming, before the computer replied.
"Location unknown."Ā came the feminine voice, followed by... nothing. The response stopped Jim mid-scramble. He'd never heard an answer like that from a piece of Starfleet equipment. Just in case he'd missed something, he listened closely; when there was nothing else, no series of statistics and diagnostics, he sat back in his seat and tried again.
"Computer,"Ā he repeated, enunciating clearly,Ā "Identify planet."
Jim froze, listening to the thrum of the vessel's processors process his voice command and proceed to -Ā
"Planet unknown."
"...very helpful."Ā he muttered with a half-hearted attempt at sarcasm, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach. Something was wrong; as he double checked the supplies of the duffel bag, Jim tried to figure out just what it was. Maybe the landing had been too much for the pod's computers and knocked the sensors out of calibration. A pod like this was equipped with sensors to analyze the composition, structure, and class of any given planet upon entering its atmosphere. Even if he'd landed on a planet uncategorized by Starfleet, the computer should have given him a list of general data and measurements. Without this summary, Jim couldn't be certain that there was even breathable air outside. The mechanics of this pod weren't so advanced as to include a life support system; once the oxygen ran low, the vessel would begin to intake whatever was outside, breathable or not.Ā
Jim decided to put his faith in the likelihood that Spock had followed protocol and sent him to a place where he could contact Starfleet, and not in fact stranded him on an oxygenless death trap. From his reclined position, he reached up and activated the door's opening mechanisms. An alarm began to sound - it seemed that part of the system was operating just fine - as, yes, breathable air rushed into the pod. He hefted the duffel bag of survival gear onto his back and pulled himself upward, emerging onto the face of the upended shuttle. Jim crawled over to the curved edge of the frame and slid down the pod's slick surface, landing solidly on his feet.
All in all, the view was not too unfamiliar. Surrounding him were long stretches of farmland, striped with recently tended to rows. He'd miraculously avoided destroying crops upon impact, having landed in what looked like a pasture, minus the cows. He was certain that he'd never been to this planet, whichever one it was, but the lay of the land pleasantly reminded him of home. Or at least, the parts he'd liked - the wide, open spaces, the earthy smell of crops. It was almost nostalgic. But, given the events aboard the Enterprise, Jim couldn't allow himself the time for reminiscing. In the distance he could see what looked like a small town; he would have to try and contact Starfleet from there. Maybe there was some way he could contact the headquarters on Earth and warn them of what was heading their way. Adjusting the bag on his shoulder, Jim began his trek towards civilization. As he walked, he opened his communicator and pulled up a new voice log.Ā
"Stardate twenty-two fifty-eight point four two... four, uh, four whatever,"Ā he began,Ā "Acting Captain Spock has marooned me on an unknown planet, what I believe to be a violation of security protocol forty-nine point oh nine..."
Yeah, sure, 'Acting Captain'... Acting Captain or not, Spock didn't seem to realize just how much danger Earth was in. He said he was following Pike's orders, but Pike's orders hadn't accounted for mass genocide and destruction on a planetary scale - Jim couldn't see the same logic Spock did in following them anymore. If Pike had been forced to give up Earth's defensive frequencies, and stronger men had been broken before, the planet would have no forewarning and had no chance at defending itself from attack if they didn't at leastĀ tryĀ to catch up to Nero's ship. Assuming the very worst, it was only a matter of a very short time before the vengeful Romulan subjected Earth to his own brand of 'justice'. Even with the drill disabled, the Narada had taken out an entire squadron of Klingons, destroyed a fleet of Federation ships, and heavily damaged the Enterprise; that kind of firepower was more than enough to destroy a handful of Starfleet's bases.Ā
The thought of a burning Earth stopped him in his tracks.
"Dammit, Spock."Ā he breathed, borrowing the line from a friend. Jim frowned in spite of himself and snapped the communicator shut mid-sentence, increasing his walk to a more purposeful, directed stride. It was bigger than him and Spock right now - they were running out of time.
