JOSH WITH KIDS
Somewhere within the past couple days, Tyler got really sick.
I’m distant but it’s not cute or mysterious; I really want to be closer to people but it’s hard
You’re gone, gone, gone away I watched you disappear All that’s left is the ghost of you. Now we’re torn, torn, torn apart, There’s nothing we can do Just let me go we’ll meet again soon
—————————
My current favorite song along with Pompeii by Bastille.
evelyn-fucking-hastings:
Evie crossed her arms almost as soon as he did, “Great taste isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.” She shot but with a faint smirk, “I might. The damn thing wont open.”
“Right.” It was hard not to crack a smile when she claimed great taste wasn’t for everyone. Kyle didn’t give a shit about brands or labels. If anything, it was annoying. “Are you putting the key in correctly? Because I can’t imagine you’d lose a key or misplace it with a fuzzball attached to it.”
alaska-mcmahon:
“While you’re right about that–getting into trouble pretty much anywhere we tend to go these days, I just think the park seems like a perfect fit for us tonight. It’s quiet, it’s not too crowded with people running around with their dogs and their kids–it’s just our playground in a way. We can get away with almost anything!” Alaska told him, chuckling as she bumped into him lightly as they walked along the city sidewalks, still holding each other’s hands as if it was all just second nature to them now. “I’m sure you’ll be able to keep your title–but you might want to do some different things then what the past held. It’s a new city for you, you have to top it from the last.”
Ignoring the typical street lights within cross walks that everyone followed during normal hours of the day, Alaska pulled Kyle down the street a little more as they headed towards one of the many park entrances. For a moment the blonde had felt she was in some sort of odd dream, reliving their past but within a different city and sober since before they wouldn’t be caught dead holding each other’s hands without something to help influence their feelings and impulses towards each other. Though as she got the strong flashback sense, she figured that she also needed to tell him about the vacation she was taking or at least wanted to take. One last little party before she sat down and began gaining a new focus, one last time to clear her mind before the last chapter of the shit storm her life had kicked up closed. One more time walking around the streets she used to live on with some of her closest friends before she came home—back to Kyle and the life she made in Denver.
“Hey–So I have question.” She said, pulling herself back to Kyle as she veered over to the walkway to the park. “I have this friends who’s kind of in a pickle, you know. They got offered to do a small trip with a few of their old girl friends back in their old hometown, just kind of keeping back together with each other and all of that fun stuff while hanging out back in LA—their hometown. They said it would just be a five night type of thing and all, but they’re not too sure about going. Something about the timing of some things and trying to work everything out with what they have going on, so I guess I’m asking you what this person should do.”
“Almost anything?” Kyle repeated her words in a questioning tone, laughing a little as she bumped him. “I think trouble just tends to follow us. But yeah. Sounds good. And I’ll try to work on it but I can’t make any promises. I might be too old now. Practically going on thirty over here.” Of course he was only teasing about his age. But he was more mature now than he used to be. His partying days were more or less behind him, though he still had his moments. Since their relationship took a more serious turn, Kyle sort of changed with it. And it was weird to think about. How they used to be compared to now. It wasn’t that anything really changed though. They were still the same idiots from California that would laugh at the stupidest things, argue with one another until the other caved, and poke fun at each other.
Alaska pulling him by his hand and leading the way only reminded him of their old days. Her excitement made him smile. And he was so glad she was okay, after everything—the attempted kidnapping, Steven. Aside from their newest addition of the little white kitten, this was probably the happiest he’d seen her in a while since. Once they slowed down some and Alaska turned to look over at him, Kyle raised an eyebrow. “I have a possible answer.” He smirked, nodding for her to go on as he turned his attention back to the walkway to keep an eye on where they were actually walking so that they didn’t get tripped up over anything.
At first, Kyle wasn’t sure where Alaska was going with any of it. It took him until she had mentioned their hometown of LA before it truly clicked. And it didn’t require any thought on his end. “I think, if that’s what this person wants to do, then that’s what this person should do. Have some fun. See LA again and hang out with old friends.” Kyle glanced over at her again, giving a small smile. “You should go. Everything will still be here for when you get back.” Alaska more than deserved this trip, especially if it was something she truly wanted. Who was he to say no? It wasn’t like she needed his approval.
I like observing people. I like looking at things.

ofappleandmyths:
Sasha sat in a nearby restaurant with a plate of food in front of her. She stared at the contents, a clear debate going on in her mind. She picked up one of the fries on her plate, taking a bite but seemed to decide that was enough pushing the plate away. “Think I’ve decided I’m not hungry,” she said and looked over at someone near by. “Do you want this?” she offered, her gaze staying on them as she waited for an answer. It was clear she hadn’t touched the food save for the fry she’d taken a bite of.
Kyle dipped into the restaurant mostly just to get out of the rain, and at this point, maybe to get some coffee to warm back up. Seeing a familiar face though, he made his way over, taking his chances and taking the seat across from Sasha with a raised eyebrow. “You’re offering your food to people?—why’d you even order anything then?” Kyle glanced over at the person she had made the offer to and back. “You okay?”
evelyn-fucking-hastings:
Evie colorfully cursed to herself, dramatically trying to get her new apartment. She looked up to see heard something nearby, “I totally swear I live here.” She held up her keys, obnoxious pink puff ball attached to the keyring, “Plus, i’m in a vintage Chanel. I’m too classy to be robbing.”
Kyle slowed his pace as he made out the expletives dropping from the woman he was fairly certain he hadn’t seen around before. Crossing his arms, he raised an eyebrow in questioning, eyes briefly drawn to the keyring and back. “I don’t know what that means. I don’t care about Chanel... You have the wrong keys then, or what?”
suttonfitzgerald:
Sutton didn’t know if she’s ready yet to really talk to this woman. Sure they’ve met when she first come up to Sutton and dropped the truth bomb, but Sutton quickly dismissed the woman saying she needed time before she’s ready to see her again, and she wasn’t lying, but the thing is she didn’t know if she could ever be ready to faced the woman who abandoned her 22 years ago. “I’m not sure I can ever be ready,” she admitted, “But I think I’ll have to see her eventually right? To talk to her? It’s not like I can avoid her forever. When I’m sure about it, I’ll tell you for sure. But thank you for being here for me though, I appreciate it.”
“I mean, you could avoid her. She might eventually catch on and stop trying. But it might be a little more difficult that way.” Kyle scratched his chin. He understood. It would be hard to prepare yourself for that. But if anyone could do it, Sutton surely could. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. It sucks, but I think it might help to talk to her. At least once.” It could clear Sutton’s conscious, and maybe she could get some answers. That would be worth it, wouldn’t it? Kyle waved off her gratitude. “No problem. You have any plans for the day then?”

I looked and looked at her, and I knew, as clearly as I know that I will die, that I loved her more than anything I had ever seen or imagined on earth.

nevada--saunders:
It had only been less than a week after taking the dog in. When a fellow worker was looking to rehome the pup, Nevada couldn’t say no. He was longing to have to take care of, having missed working with all the dogs at the animal shelter back in LA. After getting home, and taking Jasper out for a walk. The two got settled back into the apartment. When Nev suddenly remembered he had forgotten to check the mail box. Figuring it was fine leaving the furry dog alone for a short time wouldn’t hurt. Though just as he was leaving Jasper squeezed between Nev’s leg and the door. Quickly running down the hall and almost barreling into someone else. “Jasp – Jasper,” Nev called.
Since Alaska had left on her trip, Kyle found himself wandering around a bit more, sort of restless. She made it there safe though, so that part of his mind was at ease. It was just a matter of not actually knowing what to do. Which sounded pretty pathetic but he really did spend a majority of his time with her when he wasn’t working. Deciding to go for a walk, he was just making his way passed the mail room when he noticed a dog come running up to him. Kyle stopped and almost instantly stooped down to try and pet it, letting the dog sniff him out some before trying to scratch its head. He noticed the guy that must have been in pursuit of the animal, smiling. “It’s fine. He probably just smells the cats on me.”
lydiacollins:
It was a completely natural instinct to stick her tongue back out at Kyle as he did it to her first. Childish? Completely. But in Lydia’s defense… he started it. And yes, she had full intention of using that as her reasoning, as petty as it sounded. Then again she still had the childish side to her but as they lived together, she gathered he already knew that. Plus if he started it, then he was as childish as her. “Hold up a minute, I like you? When did that happen?” Lydia questioned, trying her hardest not to laugh as she made her voice sound as flat as possible. “Don’t mistake me living with you as me liking you. I know there’s a one letter difference between the two words but that’s bit of a reach.” Less than a moment later, the corners of her lips twitched upwards, indicating that her previous sentences were nothing but a complete joke. When she thought about it, it always amused her, thinking back to how when they first met, Kyle had caught her at a seemingly bad time – off on the wrong foot, some might say – and now? They lived together. How time flies, as well. “Either way, it’s a bit late for that now. All in the past. Maybe next time,” Lydia chirped back, shrugging. “You heard it,” She repeated, shaking her head with a laugh. Her attempt to sound serious evidently failed. “You should’ve seen it. It was great! Your loss because you became… distracted,” She paused then so she could gesture to his cigarette, raising an eyebrow, a smirk playing at her lips. Lydia shifted her weight from one foot to the other, nodding her head with a smile as Kyle asked her about the objective of the game and how to go about it. Her attention averted as he took his shot, laughing as he failed, her eyes gleaming with amusement. And when he started calling the game and herself ridiculous, she only laughed more. “Sounds like something a sore loser would say,” She teased, taking the ball back from him. “That was feeble! Did you even try at all? Also, how am I ridiculous? Just because you missed.”
Of course Kyle was used to the childish antics. It was fairly common among his closest friends, and that included Lydia. The silly, goofy moods. “Oh, whatever. A bit of a reach would be me stating that you love me. Also only one letter difference. You like living with me though. Admit it. I’m the least bothersome person. It’s like I’m not even there.” He was only joking around with her, though when he was in, he was usually pretty quiet. To the point where it was hard to tell whether he was home or not. Instead of pretending to argue with her, he rolled his eyes, nodding along a bit in a mocking yet playful manner. And after having missed his shot, Kyle pushed himself back to his feet. “I’m not a sore loser. And... I tried. Kinda.” He lit his cigarette, keeping a little distance out of courtesy and took a drag before waving his hand. “Ridiculous for coming up with this—let’s see a repeat shot.”
suttonfitzgerald:
“Well the guy I hired was sure, I mean all the pictures and the documents support that fact, but…” she shrugged her shoulders, “She could be a damn good forger, a conman, whatever she is,” Sutton still trying to deny the blatant truth about her birth mother, “Who knows what she really wants. She could try to dig something about me, or worse about the Mayor…” she shook her head, it’s easier for her to think this woman is just some grifter and not her birth mother. After being quiet for a while she let out a sigh, “Honestly though, it’s just so much easier if she’s not my birth mother. If she’s just a grifter. I’ve been waiting for that feeling you know? Like that instinct of knowing she’s my mother, any joy or something like that, but,” she shook her head, “Nothing.”
It was hard to see why anyone would want to go through all the trouble to make themselves seem like they were Sutton’s biological mother, but Kyle supposed it could still happen. Just because he didn’t see the point didn’t mean someone wouldn’t do it. But this had been bothering Sutton for a while now. And it was still happening. She was still facing it. It wasn’t something that was going to just go away either. While some might argue Kyle was a pessimist, he liked to think of himself as a realist. Yeah, it was possible this person could try to dig up something about Sutton or the mayor. But it was still possible she just wanted to reconnect, in a sense. Hearing her out and letting her explain, Kyle nodded. “Well... maybe once you meet her, if you choose to, you can get some more answers. I’ll go with you if you want. Whenever, whatever. But until then, let’s not think about it. Alright? I’m gonna drag you out of this place if I have to. We’ll go find something to do. Clear your head.”
briarrosedurand:
briar rose felt kyle wrapped his arm around her, & she wrapped an arm around his neck, when she stayed upright she nearly tumbled in herself, letting an 'oppss’ come from her mouth. she sighed deeply, when he pressed the button & she looked at her own reflection on the mirror. ❛ You looking great, Kye! ❜ she referring his appearence, & pinched his cheek playfully, but the a smile crept on her plump & perky lips when he mentioned about his updates. there is a lot of stuff happening with her, where to start ? she snorted before went on… ❛ My girlfriend & I adopted bunnies. They stay with her. & I just came from Winterspeg, trust me you don’t want be there… ❜ she slurred her words as the lift was going to her floor. ❛ The real name of Winterspeg is Winnipeg, it’s in Canada…. & Kyle!! Polar bear is so beautiful! I’ve got free ticket from the radio there on my first day off on the set!! ❜ there is a hint of excitment when she spoke about the polar bear. she really loves animals. ❛ It’s so fucking cool!! ❜ once more she spoke euphorically of those events. but when the lift arrived on her floor, she still held on him, walking with him stumbling a little to her door. ❛ I’ve got a beauuuutifulllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, knife from Winterspeg. ❜ she spoke emphatically each words. she didn’t have time to explore much the city, unfortunately, but she done what she could does. but of course there was something more, something she wasn’t capable of speak yet… things that was bothering her mind & torturing her soul. to complete the situation, not even her girlfriend isn’t around & she has no idea where she was. briar rose thinks her girlfriend grew tired of her. but did she blame her ? no. she takes the blame all for herself. the hollywood star knew she shouldn’t be dating her best friend since the beginning of her relationship.
Kyle scrunched his face and tried to lean away a little the second Briar started pinching his cheek, though he couldn’t help but laugh a little. At least she was a goofy drunk. He could handle that. Making sure she didn’t sway too much one way or the other, Kyle nodded along, listening as Briar filled him in on what she’d been up to lately. “Winterspeg? No, probably not.” He had a feeling she was making a joke about the Canadian city and how cold it must have been, and she soon confirmed it. “Wait, you got to see a polar bear? That sounds pretty fucking awesome, yeah.” The more excitement she seemed to show, the more Kyle smiled. The little things in life. “I’ll be honest, I’ve never had any friends that had bunnies. When you mentioned having adopted some, I got a little excited myself. But your girlfriend has them at her place? Which might be for the best. Not sure how Levon and that almighty cat of yours would handle them.”
Once they reached the right floor, Kyle kept an arm around Briar to keep her upright and walking, slowly making their way to her door. “Yeah? Another one for the collection?” He glanced over at her. “Do you get one from each place you go? I feel like that’d be kinda cool. Especially if you leave the country a lot.” And finally reaching her door, he wasn’t sure if he should really just leave her. People typically drank for a reason, right? Maybe that wasn’t always the case. But if Kyle was as hammered as Briar was right now, he’d more than likely be trying to forget about something. So, maybe there was something troubling her mind. And if that was the case, Kyle wouldn’t feel right to leave her by herself. “You got your keys?... Tell me about, what did you call it? Winterspeg? How’s Canada?”
