FYI due to the nature of the mods and their fandom circle, your census has only reached a very small minority of les mis fans. Your results will be skewed by the ship/character circles you're in. Someone mentioned this in a valvert discord of over 600 members today and none of us had heard of it. The 'big' valvert blogs haven't reblogged it. I imagine this is just an Amis census. It's not that important in the grand scheme of things, but it won't be a representation of the fandom at all.
Fascinating! It’s hard to imagine that the active core Tumblr fandom is much larger than 700 people, but it’s really cool that there are that many people active in a ship-specific fan group!
Valvert is actually fairy well-represented amongst the ships (it’s solidly in the top ten), as are both characters individually within the responses we received.
Unfortunately the nature of fandom makes it completely impossible to reach every single member, let alone get them all to participate. We did our best to put it in the major Les Mis tags and reblogged it ourselves (although, as you pointed out, that means it only reached similar fans to the mods as a direct result from our specific reblogs).
It is also relevant to note that this census by nature is a survey of the Tumblr fandom, not specific off-Tumblr fan groups. The hope is that it can give the Tumblr Les Mis community a jumping-off point to see what demographics might want to be represented more, and what accommodations would be most effective at making content more accessible to the current members. The ship- and character-related questions were more of a fun way to see general trends, and aren’t meant to be taken as any sort of serious indication of...well, anything.
