What dreams may come
I look up through the trees and watch fall rise-
With no control I see them shed their skins and show their true colors
A small voice speaks up and I turn to find a daughter I call my own
I can't hold back my smile, her strength over me is stronger then time's over winter
Finally, I am happy
Her mother watches as the smell of coffee fills the air
The moment is perfect in every sense of the word
A sigh of a waking winter tests us; but let's face it it's cold
She laughs with joy as we seek shelter in a house that father had built
The air is warm and sweet as a fire slowly burns
It is then that I see her, a beauty more then skin deep
No word was said and no attempt to say one was made
With a gentle embrace time stood still
There I held the mother of my child- my life was complete
I looked down to our Autumn closing my eyes i bring her in also.
The warmth of their love was strong enough to keep me sane even in the darkest of time.
Perfection, it was perfection; but soon I opened my eyes and saw the saddest reality of them all
It was only a dream.
