“Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.” -Winston Churchill
Exciting news, I got into every single program I applied to!!! And I had so many moments where I honestly thought I wouldn’t get in anywhere. It just goes to show... GO FOR IT. Even if you’re not confident. Talk to people. Do the best you can. At the worst, nothing will happen. At the best, you will open opportunities that you only dreamed of.
Stop telling yourself that the grass is greener on the other side, because it’s not. It is greener where you water it. So take control of your life and start watering your own pastures and grow your own greener grasses.
I remember looking up to older friends, parents, teachers, professors and thinking they were so certain, so confident in what they were doing.
I was so wrong.
Each year we grow older, the clearer our eyes become at seeing the fears and insecurities that everyone faces. It’s part of life. It’s never going away.
And now that I’m trying to accept that, instead of dreaming about some future where I know exactly where I’m going, I can focus on working through my fears. I think the key is to outweigh your fears with excitement.
Get HYPED! Tell your brain to cut that crap out when it starts imagining the bad things that “could” happen. Prep. Plan. Let the satisfaction you’d feel at finishing each step fill you to your toes. Pretend it’s already happened, and you’re just making it happen again. Get madly happy that you’re actually getting to work on this. How many people get a chance to do what you’re doing?
YESSS LETS DO THIS. FOR YOU. FOR THEM.
So. It’s okay to be a little scared. The goal is to shift from thinking about how scared you are to being excited about this wonderful unknown future of yours. Feel it. This excitement is fueling your motivated rocket-self, jetting you to your goals!
Get excited about what’s around the bend. You got this. Here’s to our journey, our 2018.
Something to keep in mind this year
I have a question. This is a problem many of us have: you’re home for the holidays, with a LOT to do.... and a TON of distractions....
How do you stay on track?
Please comment or repost with your answer/tips/tricks. One of the best presents is wisdom. :) Merry Christmas everyone!
It’s never too late
Elizabeth’s spirits soon rising to playfulness again, she wanted Mr. Darcy to account for his having ever fell in love with her. “How could you begin?” said she. “I can comprehend your going on charmingly, when you had once made a beginning; but what could set you off in the first place?” “I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago.”

"Leaning against other texts, thinking with other minds, letting another person's writing (or art, or being) haunt you, inhabit you, inspire you, bother you, quite thoroughly, isn't just a means of spurring one to produce thoughts or books. It's also a wager about how deeply intertwined our consciousnesses may be."

How I Use OneNote for University
Hey, all! I thought I’d share how I use OneNote, for any students who might want to use it for school organization. I have used this since the beginning of my university career and have found a method that works for me, after nearly three years.
I provide templates for what I use as .one files that can be imported into OneNote, and you’re free to use & modify them however you wish.

As a student with learning disabilities, I found that using a computer, rather than writing everything out, is the best method for me to learn. I type up notes in class so as to not worry about keeping up with a professor, handwriting, or neatness. OneNote is my favourite note-taking application for this, because it’s essentially an upgraded version of Word that’s free and syncs automatically across devices. When my computer crashed, I was still able to access my notes online.
OneNote isn’t all typing. You can use it on a tablet or use a drawing tablet, in my case, to handwrite notes for a more natural feel. A very efficient way of taking notes is to import the lectures slides in OneNote and to write directly on them. I found that very useful in math-heavy courses, such as statistics and chemistry. The equation tool, while nifty, isn’t efficient.
By no means whatsoever is this the only way to use OneNote! In fact, I’d recommend you find a way that works for you, because while this may be highly organized, it takes a bit of set-up time and is tailored specifically to my needs. You can use my example as inspiration, but play around with it! The beauty of OneNote is that it can be used in a variety of different ways.

Great review of OneNote for PC! Also includes a calendar!
This is amazing, well done! OneNote is one of my top tools for studying, and this covers all the useful features, plus some I didn’t even know about.
This is the studyblr community. This is how we should all be!

This is one of my favorite breakfasts: Oatmeal with wild blueberries and crumbled sweet & spicy pecans on top. Fast, filling, and delicious. Don't work hungry!
Hello everyone, I've missed you all! I've been busy moving to a new city, and took a semi hiatus from social media. Change is exciting, hard, and sometimes lonely. But loneliness is good. It creates time to chill with yourself, and get to know yourself better. This is my new desk. I stiiill haven't quite unpacked, so I'm using a stack of magazines as a mouse pad. 🙃
Habit Tracker Challenge
Back in February, I designed a habit tracker (and drew a little robin for company). I want to try again this month! Want to join me?
It's veeery satisfying to color in a square after doing something. But, even when I forgot to complete a habit (which happened a lot!), I reminded myself not to be disappointed. It's a good way to see how I spend my time, and what habits I could focus on and strengthen.
Here's how:
1. In your existing journal/Passion Planner/sheet of loose leaf graphing paper, write out the month in big font. I use the grid pages at the back of my Passion Planner, with room for the whole year I personally like the idea of having all the habit trackers together. You can see how your prioritized habits change or get stronger over time. Pretty interesting.
2. Count the number of days in your month. If you're at the middle or end of a month, you can add the last days in the beginning, as I did above. Draw your horizontal line beneath the month, making the length the number of squares needed for each day. Make sure the line starts a bit to the right of the page, so you have room to write your habits. Then on top of the line, number the days.
3. Draw your vertical line, with one square for each habit you want to track. You can see how my line can easily extend, in case I add additional habits during the month.
4. Choose a different color for each habit. (Visually it makes it easier to find which square I want to shade in). If you like things simple, you can also stick with one color.
5. Now for the hard part. Choose your habits carefully. If you have too many, it'll be overwhelming, and you might not use the tracker. My rule is less than 10. A "habit" can be anything you'd like to work on daily: a project due in a month, a new way of doing something, a topic you're learning on the side, drinking water, encouraging someone. Endless opportunities! Write those babies in.
6. Decide how you're going to track habits. Will you color in a square immediately after completion? At the end of the day? I also like to half color in a square if I sort of did a habit, but not completely. But stay honest. :P
7. This step is completely optional, but accountability motivates me to actually do something. Reblog this if you decide to join the challenge. Declare yourself! Take it a step further? Post a picture of your own habit tracker, ready for action. Then, at the end of the month, post another picture of your completed tracker, no matter how many filled or empty squares there are.
Remember, there's a treasure trove to be learned from empty squares, there is NO SHAME. (I'm planning a reflection post on those).
Excited and hopeful to see other habit trackers! One last thing: you don't have to follow this exact design, do what works for you!
