Follow the life of a strange, red Quilava with some secrets they haven't quite parted with yet. Updates every other Friday!

This blog may contain swearing, which won't be tagged, as well as death, the afterlife, paranormal stuff, neglect/abuse, violence/gore and horror/thriller themes. Death, abuse and violence/gore will all be tagged accordingly and I'm open to being asked to tag other topics as well bc of the dark nature of some events on this blog!

I use tumblr almost exclusively on mobile and so the post versions might be updated more frequently than the actual tabs.

"Premonition huh? If it's not too much of a problem, uh, could you perhaps try and see what's in store for me in the future, I'm just, a bit anxious about something happening that's all. You don't have to if you don't want to though I completely understand!"

The vision itself was bleak, Chrysaor could feel the beating waves of rain as if they too were standing on that roof. They'd never seen a ghost within their visions before- but just as many other premonitions had lended Chrys an innate understanding of the scene beyond just what was in front of them, they knew that the Pikachu standing beside Elliot on that roof was his mother. That the wheels of fate were trying to turn in tandem, that this was not the first time a member of that family had stood there. Chrys stayed there in the vision for several moments longer than intended, until a small trickle of blood began to drip from their nose with the effort of holding the scene in place. I can't let this one come true, they thought desperately.

Once Chrysaor blinked their way back into the present, vision swimming blurrily for a few heartbeats, they turned to Elliot and tried to keep that desperation out of their tone.

"I think...that every day is another chance. Life can be hard, and I won't lie and tell you everything will be perfect and easy. I'm sorry about that. Just trust me when I say that there IS a light on the other side, there is so much waiting for you in the future. C-can I hug you?"

After Elliot nods to them, Chrysaor wraps their arms around the Pikachu with the hope of conveying how serious they are when they continue with, "Please, i-if you ever need someone to talk to, someone who understands what it's like to have these memories…these ghosts in your head, you can find me again any time.”

Against their better judgment, with that ghostly Pikachu on their mind and in the corners of their vision, Chrysaor adds, "She loves you. She misses you. She wouldn't want that for you too."

(@thelotuslava) Chrysaor@Smeargle: The red Quilava looked around curiously, "If this place is dangerous, how come you're here?" They blinked and then suddenly perked up, "Oh! Wait, have you uh- what's the word...have you recieved a blessing to stay here protected?"

The Smeargle regarded them closely, something within themself felt they might understand and respect the role they had….

“Some would call it a blessing, I suppose,” they admitted before motioning for the Quilava to follow them inside the ruins. The pathway was dark, barely illuminated by the outside and two ominous candles at an altar.

They paused as they considered their role. “…well… some may call it a curse too, but I have been the guardian of this temple since before the Brass Tower was built.”

“This room was used by Arceus long, long, long time ago to commune with the group known as ‘The Kimono Girls’ when the Shinjo Ruins were buried beneath the ice and snow. Today, it is rarely used, but it is still considered a sacred site.”

As they talked, they seemed unaware of the glow building at the end of the room…

“Most days it is me just trying to keep the Unown from trying to cause mischief… We don’t need another crystal field scenario again…” they sighed. “Or worse… random abductions…. AGAIN,” they shot a look towards one of the Unown hiding against the wall.

(@thelotuslava) Chrysaor@Griffin: the red Quilava looks at Griffin with interest, "Wow, you look neat! Kinda like the Decidueye from my home AND like the ones I've heard about from elsewhere. Is it possible to be a mix of the two? Do you know how you ended up looking like both of them?"

Griffin's body looked like it froze in place for a second, before it took a step back, away from Chrysaor.

"..."

Oh dear. This Quilava seemed to pose no threat - would it be good to answer them at all? Would that be worth it? Or would Griffin be better off running? Attacking should be the last resort...

The thoughts in their head were hard to line up into cohesive words and sentences. Faintly, one could've heard an ethereal sound akin to mumbling, muttering, whispering and all the like. None of them seemed comprehensible for the listener, though. Griffin looked as if they were staring off into space for a good while.

But they tried to force some words out.

"... Not. Not naturally. If it. Was like that. I would.

I would.

I would... be... ... ...

... and... I...

read... through...

through... ... ...

... ... ..."

... eventually, Griffin gave up on speaking. They glumly walked away from Chrysaor.

... Far off, you can see them shakily collapse on the ground.

Leilani@Chrysaor: "Alola!! Hmm... so, you live in the Hisui region, huh? Mother knows some stories about a lot of the gods and legends and stuff from Hisui... but she doesn't have a lot of other stories about Hisui. I don't know if my ancestors came here a lot. What's Hisui like anyway? Are there any favorite places you like to visit?" The young Popplio cocked her head to the side, curious.

"You know where to hide if things get out of hand." The Vaporeon says, flashing a look full of fond anxiety at the little Surskit clinging to him.

It was clear by his movements that, even if he was distrustful of this stranger, he was very comfortable in the area. Crouching low in the grass to disguise his brightly patterned fur, the Vaporeon settled in to observe this Quilava. Observance alone wouldn't guarantee whether or not they were a danger, but it would help the Vaporeon to determine if it was a fight worth having. He'd never been all that fond of rushing in, all fight and no talk.

A strange-looking Vaporeon looks out across the way, seemingly watching Chrysaor. He seems both reluctant to move forward and annoyed at the same time. His flowy tail flicks this way and that, with the Surskit clinging to him holding on tightly the entire time, like she's used to doing so.
