I’ve been really stuck on what theme and story I want to connect my photos into in my photo series then I noticed the re-occurring theme I wanted to portray. It was about finding the beauty in the little moments in life. There are many times where we often focus too much on our tasks at hand and worry about the situation. That is also me trying to complete this assignment. I neglected what I really wanted to focus on in photography and the purpose of my photos. I want to share to show people that ordinary life could be beautiful and full of colour.
My photos can be like that and so can yours. It just takes a little bit more patience and spotting for the good/beauty.
Due to the on-going epidemic over the world, ordinary life could also look very different. Some people have to stay at home and travel has become something that is further away from us. But during this time even though we’ve been staying at home or in our country. Have you noticed the leaves falling on the ground during walks. Or have you noticed the sihouettes dancing with the curtains in the evening light. Why are humans so drawn to close-up shots of object, people and places or listening to ASMR sounds we hear in normal day life?
When was the last time did you look for the blurred reflection of urself while walking on the streets? When was the last time you stopped to look around you instead of your phone while waiting for the bus?
Have we all forgotten there’s beauty all around us? Or are we too distracted?
In my image series I want to pose these questions to my audiences. Instead of giving them an answer I want them to figure out the answer. Asking them to think what the image is saying. To have their own unique take onto every image and the stories behind it. I’ve also tried to focus on emotions to let it drive my photography. Instead of focusing on the perfect lighting or the perfect focus in the technical side of photography. I value the story-telling more, people aren’t perfect and are filled with flaws but that’s what makes humans unique and powerful. So are handmade things not machine made it’s authentic because of it’s imperfectness.
So please when you look at my photos take your time to think about the answer.
