The Birds Nest

It's been a long time, hasn't it?

Life does not always go as planned, but that doesn't mean you should automatically drop your plans. It just means you have to make modifications to them. I'm still making jewelry and should have some new posts coming up. I'm still working towards my shop and trying to be cautious in my actions for the most prosperous future. Only recently have things really come into creative existence as far as the formal requirements go. Shop names, logo's and business card design concepts, oh my! It really can get confusing and frustrating.

I have built up a lot of overhead for product to be made, and there was an event that I was planning to have a booth at as a manner of testing the waters. Sadly that did not pan out as hoped. As I said, one simply shouldn't give up, but alter their plans!

This week I am going to try making my first venture into selling my pieces outright but putting them out into a local market source. I'm crossing my fingers that it goes well! I hope you enjoy what I have coming up as well. I may potentially open them up for sell here as well. I do not wish to cross-post and have things get messy though.

Lately I’ve been wracking my brain trying to think of stuff like a shop name, logo and etc. I’m thinking of taking my jewelry making quite seriously and attempting to do a small business with it. Those things, along with some research for the basic requirements as far as legal know how are kind important to it though. :/

The one main idea I’ve come up with, is taken. I can do a variation/rewording on it but I’m not sure.

A current piece

  This is a current piece I'm working on, and my first time really using my new bead palette. I volunteered to make a piece for a local fund raiser auction that will benefit one of the local high schools. I figure this auction would be a good thing for giving me an idea about the sell-ability of my jewelry. There is no real set rule for pricing things like this, just a few guides and so I feel rather unsure about it. Sorry for any blurriness, it was taken with my phone which doesn't seem to care much for taking pictures of jewelry clearly, lol.

The big current debate on this piece, is what kind of clasp to use to match it best.

Concept sketches

Sometimes, I will sit down and do concept sketches for the idea's I get for pieces. It helps a lot with putting it all together, as I can lay out what I have and want to use near by, and then figure what will need to be purchased.
