Hermione knew her comment of Draco’s eyes meant more to him than he was leading on to, she could see it in his body language. And when he asked her the color of his eyes at that moment, without even looking she just knew, and he knew, and she didn’t have to answer.Â
They were walking along, albeit slowly, but not obviously so, simply like a couple enjoying the scenery around them. There was no doubt the location was tranquil, and Hermione knew they needed the escape, to enjoy time away from the familiar bubble she’d been brought into. When he joked of the fact all they seemed to eat was Chinese food, the witch gave the blond a good swat, pointing a warning finger in his direction.Â
"I like Chinese. Before I took you on as a patient and I worked at the hospital, I was lucky if I remembered to eat at all. And that place is always open, so it made my life a bit easy. And I don’t remember you ever complaining, or acting as if you were starving."Â
Trying to make a serious face, Hermione turned her head upwards, continuing their slow paced walk towards directions unknown.Â
Hermione was so caught up in everything else around her that she didn’t notice Draco conversing until venom filled his tone, her eyes flickering upwards to the pair she recognized from school.
Theodore Nott, and Blaise Zabini.Â
Hermione could feel Draco’s grip on her hand tighten, her eyes widening when she realized a confrontation was inevitable.Â
" Fraternizing with Mudbloods now Malfoy? What would your Father say? And your Mother? I’m sure she hates it as much, but knowing your Mother, she’ll accept it, simply because of how cold you can be. But I bet you she weeps every night."Â
Hermione didn’t know where such words would come from, from what she knew both of the men had been more on the neutral side during the war, but it was evident they either disliked her, or were simply upset by Draco’s accusations, and were pointing their dislike in her direction.Â
Squeezing the blonds hand, Hermione simply shook her head, it wasn’t the first or the last time she’d been called that name, and after so many years, it was simply unaffecting. Tilting her head up, she tried to direction Draco’s attention down, towards her, instead of the two idiots before them.Â
" Come on Draco, lets go. Just ignore them." She whispered quietly, hoping he would take her queue.Â
