walden & narcissa

Walden shook Narcissa’s hand gladly. Of the Black sisters, she may be the most tame but he knew better than to underestimate her. All Blacks came out of the womb with sharp teeth and sharper wit. How she managed to put up with someone as dull and lackluster as Lucius he’d never know. He hardly seemed like he could keep up with anyone, much less a Black. But that wasn’t exactly the sort of small-talk society smiled upon.
“Cissa,” he said, voice warm. “She’s doing quite well, pregnancy is suiting her and she’s quite enjoying Hogwarts. What is it that brings you over? Not that I’m not pleased for your company, of course. What can I help you with?”
He ushered her inside the house, chiding Mo gently as the still-growing puppy ran circles around Narcissa and whining in excitement. She ought to know better by now, but she’d not met Cissa before and she probably looked more fun than the construction workers.
"I'm glad she is fine." Narcissa started by letting the rest of the conversation turn to business. Not that she needed any introduction, and she knew very well that she wasn't there to just talk. She found herself led into the house, and a hideous creature began to sneak her and tried to ignore it as she did with her husband's cats. It was the best way, or she would kill them completely. "I believe that my presence is due to business. They can be fascinating to you, Walden, if you prefer, so to speak." She adjusted her dress and stared coldly at the creature again and continued. "I'm setting up a fundraising, and maybe I would like to help this year or have a special participation." If he understood correctly, he would know that she had the purpose of helping himself.
