Tell me about your first heartbreak
“I’d tell you about my first true heartbreak, but I guess you’re asking me about my first heartbreak as in when it happened. Hm, well it had to be when I learned that my best friend would not run away with me and start our own life together. I’m over it now, it was selfish of me to ask something like that of her.”
Tell me about your first soda pop
“I didn’t try my first soda until the nineteen hundreds. It was a Dr. Pepper actually, and it was pretty tasty. To me it wasn’t anything special since I used to get drunk a lot in my youth, but I thought it was a pretty interesting beverage.”
Tell me about your first time getting drunk.
“I was thirteen and it was a few nights before my wedding. My childhood best friend and I snuck out of the palace and went to one of the local taverns. We ordered as much wine as we could, and got completely wasted after a bottle and a half. The wine was pretty darn strong, and the both of us pretty much passed out right there. I barely remember what happened. There definitely was a drunk make-out session and an off-key rendition of some popular song of that time. Luckily the guards from the palace found us before we could get ourselves into anymore trouble and I had a killer hangover the next day. I guess you could say it was like a bachelorette party of sorts.”
Tell me about your first purchase with your own money.
“Hm, well it had to be when the children and I escaped from Phoenicia to Greece. Many of us took odd jobs to support ourselves. I ended up serving wine and ale at a tavern type deal but that’s besides the point. I saved enough money to buy a bed. its the simple things I suppose, but when you have nothing anything is a luxury.”

Are there any headcanons about your muse's body that they don't like to admit to or talk about?
The stubborn belly fat that she can’t seem to get rid of. She still has a tiny pooch in her lower stomach leftover from all the kids she’s had, but she can’t seem to get rid of it at all. Thema has considered going under the knife, but she’s too scared Partly because its surgery and another part is that she doesn’t know whether her insides look the same. Other than that, Thema isn’t really too concerned about the other parts of her body. She has stretch marks and cellulite like every other woman but she doesn’t care too much about that, its a part of life and her body still looks awesome so she doesn’t really care.

“Ephram has everything he needs, now.” Anaxis didn’t answer Thema’s question; he made an unsettling, unnatural gesture and the bag disappeared. In fact, the entire mansion turned dark. Not a nighttime dark, understandable and cyclical, but a dark where it seemed as though the inky blackness was closing in on your vision from all sides. “It was arrogant of you, Thema, and foolish, to think you could bring your child into the home with him. With me. But arrogance is your trademark, is it not, Thema of Memfis? With all the children you’ve had and lost over the years, what’s one more, hmmm?”
The demon circled around, his white eyes gleaming like bone through the darkness. “Wretched, vain, petty little witch,” he said, voice low and sliding like silk over blood, “daubing yourself with mud to preserve your beauty, while I make plans for Anais, so many lovely plans, Thema.” Anaxis touched his fingers to his bottom lip, pulling it down momentarily, an obscene gesture.

The last thing you ever did to Thema was threaten her babies. She didn’t react to the darkness or Anaxis’ sneaking behind her. His words evoked something dark within her, something that she almost felt like she couldn’t control. No one threatened her children, ever, and the last thing she ever wanted was to lose another one. It was painful enough the first time. Thema spun around and glared at him, trying to use her magic on him but it was of no use, literally nothing worked. “What the hell? What did you fucking do?! Why can’t I use my magic?!”
She balled her hands up into fists. “I am not the type of woman who begs or who stands still and does nothing. I protect my own, and I will do anything, literally anything to protect my children.” If her face wasn’t completely covered in mud, she’d look much more threatening. “I will kill you. Do you understand me? I will kill you before you even lay a hand on my child or myself.” Her eyes darkened. “How were you summoned?”

“Oh, I wouldn’t say that,” Anaxis said, amused, as he leaned in the doorway to the washroom with his arms folded, the bag dangling from his fingers. “I’ve known some swamp monsters in my time. There was always an unmistakable rotten kind of quality to their skin, and I don’t think you’re quite that far along, Thema.”
He glanced at her store of beauty products, going on to remark, “I understand it must be taxing on your nerves to have lived this long, wondering if your face will just crumble and sag one day, but do you really need all these potions and concoctions? You witches, I swear. Such a healthy dose of superstition in everything you do.”
The lack of southern twang coming from Ephram’s mouth immediately had Thema’s hair on end. She knew it wasn’t him, that somehow he had stupidly let Anaxis take control of him. Did he bring him out on purpose? Did someone make him bring him out? It had to be the latter, since Ephram had promised that he wouldn’t bring a demon around Anaïs. She figured she had dealt with worse things before, but Anaxis had Ephram kill someone and Thema didn’t know if the demon would actually try to kill her.
“My face is not going to crumple and sag, Anaxis.” She turned around on her chair and brushed passed him, washing her hands clean of mud and clay in the sink. “And yes, I do. For your information, this is a detoxifying mask not an anti aging one. It helps clean the skin and- why am I telling you this? Guys I mean demons don’t care about this kind of stuff. Unless you are interested in skin care. Ephram could use a nice facial.” She jut her chin at the bag in his hand. “What’s that?”

“Ah… is that what you were doing? How many kids do you have?” she asked, saying a, “Hello, darlin’,” to the Thema’s daughter in between. “You two could join us? Maybe Eowyn could keep her occupied for a bit?” Faye honestly had no idea if the older child would even care about the baby in the carseat, but it was worth a shot.
Faye laughed low in her throat. “She’s very cute… and to be honest, I think at this point Chris would just ask how much she’s gonna eat.” Faye shook her head, thinking of her husband’s ability to simply go with it. “She seems harmless enough though.”
“ Pretty much. Six, technically.” Thema immediately grabbed her stuff and Anaïs’ hand while walking to Faye’s booth. “Of course, of course. Thank you so much, she’s never been around babies really at least with me. I’m sure her siblings didn’t really do things that involved babies either.” Thema turned to her daughter. “No magic, okay baby? If you can’t do something just ask me to do it, alright?”
Thema laughed. “That’s all it takes? Your husband really goes with the flow. So he wouldn’t even question a little girl hanging around?” She checked on Anaïs, who was staring curiously at the baby girl in the bassinet. “But anyway, how are things with Eowyn? She’s so adorable I could just eat her up! Every time I see her it almost makes me want another one but then I handle this one and then I remember that my baby making days are over.”
