I think it's because some people need their friendship for personal comfort. Which is very weird, because we never should feel like a relationship between strangers is our business or right.

People have just grown accustomed to their bond, and now, when they've been left bereft, they start spiralling. But that's not within our rights to have a glimpse into it. It's really none of our business if they interact.

The blessing and curse that was Nicola and Luke’s insane chemistry for sure, because part of the reason is that no one truly thought the other ships were that close. But Kanthony fans were PISSED that Simone and Jonathan went to Met Gala and didn’t take a picture together. The thing is, instead of turning on Simone and Jonathan, their fans somehow (as always) turn it into hate for Nicola and Luke. They said that Jonathan and Simone weren’t allowed to interact by Shonda because it would steal attention from Polin, and people often blame Nicola specifically for other ships not being allowed to post. It really angers me when people say things like “Kate is more interesting because she’s much more aware of the world” and that Edwina (and Daphne) are “boring” because they are too innocent. Well, instead of looking at them, look at the people who shielded them from real life!

Kate’s excuse of keeping the truth for Edwina to protect her is BULLSHIT! It’s patronizing and condescending!!!! We see the same stupid argument in every action movie where the male protagonist keeps the truth from their female love interest. And you know what happens to them, they either die or come close to it! Ignorance only puts the person in a higher risk. If Kate wanted to keep Edwina safe, she should have prepared her for the realities of life and marriage. What did she think, that Edwina would always live in a pink bubble forever! What if her husband ended up being horrible? What if he had mistresses, what if he mistreated her? What then? Also, Kate planned to leave to India right after the wedding?!

Kate is the embodiment of “don’t do good things that seem bad.” I understand she had Edwina’s best interest in mind and she loved her sister deeply, but she made tons of mistakes. And people should not take that away from her! She’s allowed to make mistakes!!!

Please, a female character (especially if it's a woman of color) is always help up to higher standards and expected to be perfect to be likable. Kate is human, of course she does mistakes but that does not mean she has to be hated.

Also, it is funny how Daphne is praised for being rightfully mad for being sent to the marriage mart while knowing nothing about marital life, but Edwina is highly criticized for being angry when she found out Kate lied/kept things from her regarding Edwina's life.
