“YOUR TYPICAL RICH KID FACED WITH A REALITY CHECK.”
Logan was your typical trust fund kind. His parents were ridiculously rich, and rarely seemed to care about what Logan did with his life. He went to school, which was enough for them to see that at least he was trying to do something. And even if he didn’t, they couldn’t care less. They gave him all the money in the world, and didn’t stop and see what he did with it. So Logan grew up thinking everything had to go his way. He is pretty egocentric and obnoxious, the type of guy who spends his parent’s money on expensive clothes, women, and parties, while never working for a single penny. The way he saw it, he deserved all those things because his parents were rich anyway, and what else would he do with all that money if not spend it. Better for the economy, right? Well, not everything went according to his plans. He was twenty-two when his life took a very different direction, after a hit and run with his car that mortally injured a woman. The judges of the City of Iron wanted to send him to prison for at least a decade because he might’ve been able to save the woman’s life if he hadn’t ran, but his wealthy parents paid the judges to go easy on him, or at least tried their best to save their family’s name. According to the newspapers Logan Metalborn voluntarily joined the army because the shame of his hit and run was too great, he needed to wash the blood of innocence of his hand and face reality. In truth Logan hated not having been given the choice himself. War really didn’t make his heart beat faster, and it might even get him killed! Prison at least allowed him to come out in one piece.
While he hated the training program and the army at first, Logan grew accustomed to it. He never had to fight for anything. He was just a snobby kid who was handed a gun and couldn’t aim for shit. But in that lay a challenge that had never presented it to him: he was suddenly at the same level as the rest of them. Nobody in the program had ever held a gun, and while he hated getting his ass handed to him by the chief, he recognized he wasn’t the only one being shouted at and pushed down in the mud. Every time it rained, it wasn’t just him out there doing survival runs and feeling the constant need to shower, everyone was drenched to their underwear wishing for a hot shower. Those who didn’t fight for it enough, who weren’t serious, they wouldn’t make it out there. And if there was one thing Logan wanted, it was surviving. Or that had been it, until he discovered he had a nick for shooting a sniper. And he was good at it as well. Years of beer pong paying off? Logan became the best in the program, and earned the respect of that chief who had bullied his ass all the way through. He earned his spot, and even his parents suddenly came to pay more attention to him when he managed to get his face on the local news beating some punk’s record of most successful kills in training.
“BUT HAS HIS REALITY CHECK REALLY CHANGED HIM?”
It’s been some time since the program, and Logan has been a part of the army for around five years. When they need a sharp kill, they ask him. When someone has to protect a representative from the city from a distance, he is put on that task. It isn’t odd that Logan is the one earning all this respect and quality, but it certainly comes with perks close enough to his life before the incident. His pay-grade is higher considering he sometimes has to take out individuals without alerting anyone to the Army’s involvement, and risks his life more often than not. However, he doesn’t spend his money on new gear or metal arms - although his last name might suggest that - but enjoys buying woman or go on vacation to the City of Dust or the City of Wheats. He might be the only soldier still maintaining his luxurious lifestyle. One soldier in particular hates his easy-going nature and lack of interest in actually using his position to further the war efforts, instead of just doing what he is told. This soldier is called Nina Vargas, and while they live with a similar passion, they don’t agree on a lot of things.
Logan couldn’t care less about the opinion of others, he never has. He has the ability to look beyond himself, however, which has surprised a lot of people. Because who would expect an egocentric jerk like him to take a step back and see the general situation for all people involved. Although he will never admit it, the hit and run was one of his most shameful moments, especially running away from the scene, but to this day he can’t completely remember what had happened, as if adrenaline took over after he hit the person, and he wasn’t in control anymore over his own actions. His biggest fear is that he might do it again, which is why he rather works alone.
LOGAN’S FACECLAIM IS NEGOTIABLE AND IS CURRENTLY OPEN.
