Evolution of Gorga
Forty-four years of chaos, bad decisions, emotional damage, and increasingly better linework. Gorga started as a little gremlin doodle and somehow became my spirit animal. The ears got bigger. The attitude stayed the same. Some people outgrow imaginary friends. I gave mine character development.
My process.
People sometimes assume character art starts with some grand master plan. In reality, it usually begins with me drawing an egg shape and aggressively negotiating with anatomy until a person appears. Here’s the progression from rough construction sketch to final cleanup - featuring mechanical pencils, a random pen I found on the floor, finger-smudged shading like it’s still 1998, and the eternal ritual of staring at the eyes until they stare back.
