I enjoy my community. I like the people in it and I try to be friendly and get to know the people that come into my streams because there are some great, funny people who come by a lot.

THAT SAID, I don’t think some viewers realize that a streamer isn’t automatically their friend just because they’re being nice. Someone told me we’re “friend hanging out” so they owe me their attention. Which is nice; they felt bad if they missed something due to ads (they didn’t need to, and I explained that they didn’t need to apologize every time they missed something), but like... viewers honestly owe me nothing. And when I asked wtf they meant by “friend hanging out” they... did not give an answer. 

Buddy, I’m playing a game. We just “met.” We’re not friends? Acquaintances at most, if you can call it that. I’m just a woman streaming and chatting.

And I do try and be nice and get to know my viewers because they choose to spend their time in my goofy little stream. But man, I don’t know, we’re not friends right off the bat? Like, they asked if I’d go into voice chat because they were playing the same game too and it’d be easier for them not to have to type... DURING MY STREAM. And they were nice enough when I said no and explained how awkward it was for others but it felt like a real “read the room” moment. Rude to ask a streamer to go into voice chat because it’d be easier for THEM.

Idk, it just feels weird man. I’m glad people like me, but I don’t want them to like me too much because I’m there to stream and create a good time, but I can’t be friends with EVERYONE right away. 

They also asked if I was into religion which was WEIRD because like... I get asking questions, but bringing up religion at all when no one mentioned it just is a no-no for me. Not relevant to stream, and nothing anyone needs to know.
