An update! How rare!
X-Men: Read the first two Chapters of Maus I: My Father Bleeds History by the time I see you next Monday.
Justice League: Read chapter two, "The Honeymoon," and answer the rest of the questions on #5.
We need to speed through Maus I and II, but I hope you're stopping to smell the roses. That is to say--I hope you're appreciating what you're reading!

First, you need to finish Persepolis Book I Review (#4). If you have all of the papers regarding chapters for the first half of the book, you'll be fine!
Second, you'll have to read all of Book II on your own and complete the Persepolis Book II February Vacation Take Home Test.

PROJECTS ARE DUE TOMORROW! I have a post dedicated to what is asked of you for the project. Or you could see me after school.
Seems like I never get to see the X-Men anymore.
BRING BACK A CONTRACT WITH GOD and UNDERSTANDING COMICS tomorrow!
No excuses. I was asked to collect A Contract with God and you should respect what I ask of you because I'm respecting what was asked me. Do not make me chase you for this book. Please also return Understanding Comics. I know you'll be happy to be rid of it.
I will definitely see you X-Men tomorrow.
Say farewell to A Contract with God. I will be collecting the books from you as soon as possible. The Justice League has already passed them back.
However, that doesn't mean we cannot discuss the first story, "A Contract with God"! Justice League: hold on to #5 and expect to go over it the next time we meet.
X-Men: bring your books to class and use them to work on the questions on #5.

Your homework is to read the first Preface (ix-iv) and the first story, the eponymous "A Contract with God"(ix-61).
And don't forget about your Understanding Comics Final Assessment! Due next week for the X-Men.

Attention Justice League and X-Men!
You have a project coming up! The X-Men were assigned the project today. Justice League will be given the assignment next time I see them (Tuesday). For your convenience, I have pasted the instructions below. Do not hesitate to message me or e-mail any questions or concerns about this assignment!
You will create a one to two page comic to demonstrate all of the skills and techniques in Understanding Comics. You may work with one other person. **You will not be graded on your art!**
Your comic must demonstrate the following:
Ø An understanding of closure.
Ø At least three types of panel transitions.
Ø An example of time and motion.
Ø At least one example of emotion shown through symbols (Chapter 5).
Ø Correct use of word and picture combinations.
Ø Some color must be used. However, if you choose to keep your comic in black and white, you must be able to explain your choice (laziness is not an acceptable reason).
Once that is all done, you and your partner must write a short explanation explaining how and why you two used each of the above items in your comic. Make sure you explain each person’s role in the comic. A page typed should suffice.

Your test grades are pretty good! As of now, without the three missing test grades, your class average is 83.3 which is a bit higher than the X-Men, but you're also missing tests, too!
I guess the eternal struggle between Justice League and X-Men continues to eternally struggle.
Remember to read Chapter 5 tonight for homework!
